New Low Weight

Not one child came to our door. Of course, we turned off skeleton and porch light. Several of the children on this street go to church functions. We ended up eating all the candy we bought "just in case." It was time for a nap, anyway.

This is the time of year I can lose weight easily. I finished all the candy and am at a new low weight. Since I want sweets, I quit eating other things. At any rate, I lose weight.

I purchased a new microwave and new clock radio for Tommy. I thought he needed one! He thought I bought it for me. He is going to use it for one feature he likes. I have no idea why I thought he needed one. I think I have had the microwave for about twelve years. I had it at my house and we used it for a few years.

Just now, I told Tommy I wanted him to bring in my skeleton tomorrow. 'Skeleton?" he says!

Onward to Thanksgiving!

Little Orphant Annie

Halloween Costume but a for real outfit in Publix

We only shopped at Publix on Thursday because neither of us felt up to it. We were both still tired. I am not napping anymore and still cannot sleep long at night.

However, I am not ill this October! Since October 1991, I have been ill every October. The first time was 4 months into my return to school. I ended up taking four antibiotics in one month, two or three at one time. I dropped one class and failed another class.

Someone asked me how I failed a Humanities Survey. I did not attend the class even once. These classes were events happening on campus--lectures, dance, plays. Then, we had to write a paper. I thought I could make the events. I basically gave up when the deadline for "drop passing" deadline passed.

Since I quit citrus products, I have been sniffly, but no fever, sore throat, chest congestion has occurred.

I crave oranges, a good navel orange, a Halo, or a big, cold glass of orange juice. But, I won't jeopardize my health.

Wednesday was 53, damp, windy, and cloudy. Thankfully, it is drier, especially for kids Trick or Treating. There will be no one here. There are only three small children who live on this street, so not much chance. I imagine the ramp deters people, too. Some people have been afraid to walk on it.

Tonight, I watched four episodes of Hoarding: Buried Alive. It was all so sad. Now, I switched to a Nature show, much better!

To all the little children: -- The happy ones; and sad ones;
The sober and the silent ones; the boisterous and glad ones;
The good ones -- Yes, the good ones, too; and all the lovely bad ones.

Little Orphant Annie's come to our house to stay,
An' wash the cups an' saucers up, an' brush the crumbs away,
An' shoo the chickens off the porch, an' dust the hearth, an' sweep,
An' make the fire, an' bake the bread, an' earn her board-an'-keep;
An' all us other childern, when the supper-things is done,
We set around the kitchen fire an' has the mostest fun
A-list'nin' to the witch-tales 'at Annie tells about,
An' the Gobble-uns 'at gits you
Ef you
Don't
Watch
Out!

Wunst they wuz a little boy wouldn't say his prayers,--
An' when he went to bed at night, away up-stairs,
His Mammy heerd him holler, an' his Daddy heerd him bawl,
An' when they turn't the kivvers down, he wuzn't there at all!
An' they seeked him in the rafter-room, an' cubby-hole, an' press,
An' seeked him up the chimbly-flue, an' ever'-wheres, I guess;
But all they ever found wuz thist his pants an' roundabout:--
An' the Gobble-uns 'll git you
Ef you
Don't
Watch
Out!

An' one time a little girl 'ud allus laugh an' grin,
An' make fun of ever' one, an' all her blood-an'-kin;
An' wunst, when they was 'company,' an' ole folks wuz there,
She mocked 'em an' shocked 'em, an' said she didn't care!
An' thist as she kicked her heels, an' turn't to run an' hide,
They wuz two great big Black Things a-standin' by her side,
An' they snatched her through the ceilin' 'fore she knowed what she's about!
An' the Gobble-uns 'll git you
Ef you
Don't
Watch
Out!

An' little Orphant Annie says, when the blaze is blue,
An' the lamp-wick sputters, an' the wind goes woo-oo!
An' you hear the crickets quit, an' the moon is gray,
An' the lightnin'-bugs in dew is all squenched away,--
You better mind yer parunts, an' yer teachurs fond an' dear,
An' churish them 'at loves you, an' dry the orphant's tear,
An' he'p the pore an' needy ones 'at clusters all about,
Er the Gobble-uns 'll git you
Ef you
Don't
Watch
Out!

Amazing Meat Find

Today, we were picking up ads in order to make lists before we went to stores to shop. A few times we have seen sidewalk food bank. But, we never know what it is there. I think we stopped once. I urged Tommy to stop. From the curb a store away, I saw three or four packages of meat with people on the sidewalk getting one or maybe more.

I got the attention of a woman who recognized me. She understands the mobility problem we both have. I told her one piece of meat except for the whole hen would be great. She brought back two incredibly heavy bags. And commented about so much meat. It turns out they have meat this week and may have cakes and breads another and maybe even at a different location.

They gave us six roast-type items, bologna, and Conecuh sausage. The cost was just over $100. Amazing? I will cook some of this and give it away.

They have a day food is sold at a discount. We have usually gone to that only when we accidentally have gone by.

I have finally gotten Tommy to take care of a serious medical problem. He has refused to take care of his lower legs. They are very hot, hard, swollen with huge blisters. I warned him that he should not have a hip replacement with that kind of trauma, that he could lose a leg. The skin looks very thin, like it might split. He could also get small spot where bacteria could enter and cause an infection.

The doctor agreed with me and would not operate until it was treated. Tommy voluntarily pulled up his pants. Doc told him to use Eucerin on it and take diuretic. So, he must now visit cardiac doctor, endocrinologist, and gp before he will operate. He took the diuretic this morning. The diuretic made his knee less swollen and less painful. When I told him to take his pants off tonight so I could put on the cream, he did not argue or complain. It is a relief.

There were few items that were on sale at stores that we wanted or needed. We will shop tomorrow.

Electrician are coming next week to start the rewiring. They will move furniture from in front of the outlets. There is a mattress they will have to move and a 50 inch tv that I hope they will put on curb. We will give them a cash tip, not have it put on the bill. The two master electricians are working firemen when they have days off.

For about 8 years, I have used a2milk. One day, I tried their chocolate milk. It was horrid. Last week in Publix, I accidentally found shelf stable chocolate milk in juice box type containers. It is great. I won't buy it again because I like it too much. i thought someone might be interested in other iterations of a2milk.

Car Trouble

Tommy's legs, one especially, are in bad shape. They look red and almost burned, blisters all over. Today when I went to AFC Just before we went, I told him we were going to have the np look at his legs. He would not let me put Eucirin on them, what I was told to put on mine. Mine are almost well. She told him to use it too. I suppose he will.

We got out about 4:30 in plenty of time to get home before dark. The car would not start and had strange clicking noise. There was a notice about the emergency brake not working. So, I said to call insurance. The claim number had messages that led to a different message. Do you had Medicare and Medicaid? No. Are you over 60? No. So, they had a message about a safety id.

Finally, Tommy got a person. I have never heard him yell into the phone. He could not hear person and was telling her to slow down, speak up, speak plainly. When I took the phone, I understood. She was in Philippines. Women on the call lines there are very hesitant to speak up, have very soft, submissive voices.

We kept calling other numbers we could find. All calls led to these same numbers. We called 911. policewoman came, called someone to come with a starter/jumper box, but Tommy refuses to keep it ours in the car. ??? We always have a need for it here, he says. ??? So we sat for over an hour begging for agent. By the time we were on the road, it was well after dark. We arrived home safely, no thanks to our insurance. AND, we were sent overseas for help.

Eventually, we were sitting in a dark parking lot. We were only 6 miles from home, but it was unnerving.

This was Traveler's Insurance, worst I have ever had. What insurance do you use? I need to find another company.

This 53F weather is harsh. And, will be lower later. We did not buy this car for features. However, heated seats are nice.

Frustration

Today, I barely got enough sleep, but I did. I cleaned out very little of my bedroom, very little. Then, I tackled coloring my hair. I supposed Tommy found some very old boxes. The first box of color was very still and would not run. So, I tossed it. Then, I tried another box of color. Tossed it. Third box was okay and in date.

I cannot raise my arms to put color on hair at back of neck. No, Tommy cannot do that simple thing. He had color all over me. I finally got it on and hopefully correctly.

Tonight, we watched most of a very good movie, forgot the name. Bette Davis played twins and one murdered the other. I could tell every mistake she made to get caught. We did not watch the rest.

Have you seen Tony Shalhoub's "Breaking Bread?" You might like that.

I have had friends who had to go to wound care for horrible wounds/sores. Tommy has one leg from knee to foot that is raw, swollen, hot. I described the debriding, digging, bandaging and continuous daily care and doctor visits or nurses coming to him to heal his leg and save it. Several  days ago, I tried to get what doctor recommended, and he refused to let me put it on his legs or do it himself. After I described the process he might have to go through. He came and let me medicate his legs with oil. I suppose I anointed them.

It works when I tell him how bad things can get. Diabetes will see him with amputated leg or legs. He thinks getting the Dexcom G7 is all he needs and a few doses of insulin. His monitor alerts him to levels as high as 378 and then he goes to eat more bread! A good friend lost both legs because she lived like she did not have diabetes. I just had another talk, not fussing, just explaining. He swallowed hard.

We have rain again. Hopefully, it won't rain on Halloween.

I have heard nothing from the new electrician, so no telling what is happening. After bombarding from old electrician and new ones to get our business, it is quiet and peaceful. Plus, all the calls have ceased.

We have plans all week and so does the rain. ugh

Is it rainy or stormy at your house?

Pepper Place Again

After sleeping from 9 pm to 1 am, I slept no more. I think we left 9:30 am to go to Pepper Place. Tommy shopped--5 lbs Beauregard sweet potato, 2 trays of squash, hot honey, regular honey, strawberry jelly, pepper jelly, cup of coffee because he was cold. The music was great where I was. Tommy said it was great on other end.

We ate there from Jeni's. There were chips made from waffle cones. I love those. We stopped by pharmacy to pick up a prescription and came home by noon. I went to bed before noon and awoke around 4 pm Yes, that is how you get eight hours sleep.

When the electrician and his boss were here just before the left for the final time, we had a disturbing occurrence. The guy who was here from first all of a sudden reached on Tommy's messy bookcase and got something.  "I think this is mine!" Tommy immediately and emphatically said, "NO." he continues saying he lost one last week. This was a little orange thing that measure the charge in line, some sort of little meter. He kept up! Ours is brand new, not in the least like a worker has handled it. If both had not objected multiple times, he would have kept it. So much for a Christian business.

Salon Pas will get another chance but on my shoulder this time. Have you ever used it?

Meg, I somehow deleted your comment. Will you send it to this post? Sorry. I have done this to many people lately.

I love Pepper Place. I just wish I had a scooter or an electric wheelchair!

Right now, dinner is on the way. Tommy heated something to eat.

This and That

Of course, I did not sleep well or long. So, what's new? I did not nap. Or, maybe I did. Finally, about 9 pm I went to bed missing the news and a movie we both wanted to see.

He adjusted the thermostat and I could barely breath when I awoke around 1 pm. I felt great, rested, not hurting. After I turned down the thermostat to 67, I started hanging clothes that were washed and hung them up. No, I put them on hangers and Tommy hung them. I did necessary piddling  like finding the box of bandaids, and my steps.

I decided to do my 9,999 steps. Tommy went right back to sleep. He wants to get up at 7 am to go to Pepper Place for vegetables. I wanted to go to Cullman to get Beauregards, but other places I need to go are not open, like eye doctor.

On his own, he decided we would have a hamburger with vegetables cooked in refrigerator. In the morning I want scrambled eggs and sausage, but we plan to grab cheese, bread, milk, fruit or whatever, eat on the way and way back.

We now have a completely new McD since they tore the old one to the ground, ripped out pavement. We rarely go to McD. The construction was interesting, though. That is the corner where we watch the Christmas parade as it is elevated and a corner. ''

Yesterday, I found a day without heavy winds, low temps to spray paint my blue bird, not a bluebird.

Salon Pas was no help. Maybe it will work better on another sore place. Has anyone used it?

I told Tommy we had to each get one thing out of this house every day. Today, I/we will attempt to remove the 50" TV. Well, get someone else to removed it. That will count as one thing for each of us. ha ha

See, I had nothing to say.

Anything happening at your house?

I Saved a Life

Chic fil A is coming to Hueytown!!! We rejoiced. I told Tommy we would have to set a limit on how many times we can allow ourselves to stop by. It is right near Publix.

I may have saved a life. A couple were walking across the parking lot in front of our car. I had Tommy roll the window down and wave him over. The man had thighs that were easily 36" in circumference. He had on shorts.

When the couple came over, I asked him if he had lymphedema. He said he did not know. I told him I thought he did because of how large his legs down to his feet were. His wife said he would not go to a doctor. They both kept going. I yelled and asked him if he had insurance. Wife said he had health insurance. I yelled back even louder, "Get life insurance on him." Well, he came back still leaning heavily on the grocery cart.

He asked me where to go. I told him. I said many doctors just said to lose weight. He nodded. We talked a bit more about his condition and the legs I used for therapy.

I hope he follows through.

I had one chance and he was walking away. So, I got his attention and he listened.

Stone and Skillet

When I awoke at 1 pm a check for $5000 was in the door. Yay!

When the rewiring is done, we will get two new bathrooms, we are painting house inside and getting new or more kitchen cabinets. I hope he will totally replace them. Then, we will have ducts cleaned!

I hate the kitchen floor. Hopefully, I can get a new one. Maybe the paneling in kitchen and dining area can go. I hate paneling. Oh, we need new indoor doors. I will tackle this one thing at a time.

Finally, at 8 am, I went to sleep. My legs finally were warm enough. I was tired still when I awoke,  but no brain fog. Tuesday was weird.

Tommy was procrastinating about making appointments--lawyer for Trust and surgeon for hip replacement. After a month, I made both appointments today.

Thursday, I bought STONE and SKILLET English Muffins. They were delicious. On Friday, I found mold on them one day before their expiration date. I returned them and bought another package. I froze those one at a time. Today, I bought two more flavors, looked down and saw I was eating mold! Those will go back tomorrow. These are new to Publix. However, check the date carefully.

Has anyone had these English Muffins?

Permanent Brain Fog?

Today the contractor for the house had to bring his boss, owner of the company to see the job to be done. We had decided to get our down payment back before the day came. I told them they could come at 2:30 and we had something to do at 3 pm (Jeopardy). Of course, things don't go right. The owner had something else to do in vicinity, so was here about 2:45.

I asked if they had pulled permits. Yes. Well, I was told last week by agency they had not pulled them. Then, they had started process last week. Liar. And, they could pick them up this week. Then, I asked I told him that he told me they could use copper wires with existing aluminum. He danced around that. We told them we wanted deposit back. They agreed. But, it will be tomorrow because it will have to come tomorrow. They will bring it to use. AND, they did not leave until 3:25, so spoiled Jeopardy.

Still foggy-headed, but went to Publix to get diet Mt Dew instead of the regular Mt Dew I bought in the morning. On the way home I wanted to get just one Mt Dew instead of the pack of eight that was not on sale like I thought it was.

I wanted Tommy to get Mupiricin and the one drink at Walgreen's. I told him the Mupiricin might be a prescription med. Remember, I am still not thinking well. He came back out Diet Mt Dew and candy because he needed something for blood sugar. He informed me he asked at pharmacy about Mupiricin needing a prescription or was it on shelf. They told him it need a prescription and he came out.

So, we went to drive up with ten cars. I called Walgreen's where I was sitting. The store answered when I was one car from window. The pharmacist said it would be done in 15 minutes. Well, finally got to the window in 21 minutes. Yes! It was ready.

By the way, I have three tubes of Mupiricin here in the house. ????

The Mt. Dew was for the caffeine to clear my head. It always works but not this time. It is almost 10 pm and my thinking is still  off. Maybe it is sinus problem.

Last week, I had the mower come and put battery back in my car. We got my oil changed and he drove it through the car wash. Then, he did a few other things. We paid him same as for a mowing. The grass has barely grown in the last six weeks.

Finally, Tommy is willing to get rid of the 50" tv we have had sitting behind the 32" tv. I may have said that. I told him that each day we are getting rid of one thing each day, each of us, not matter how small. It is a start, especially for him.

Still foggy at 11 pm!

No Lamps?

Remember the sweet potato pie Tommy wanted from Publix? It is awful. I had one piece and gave the rest to him. That is how awful it was. If I find more Beauregards, I will make one. I suppose it will mean a trip to Cullman. Maybe we can buy another 120 lbs. Sweet Potato Bread made from fresh sweet potatoes is scrumptious.

Last week, we had a new fast food item from Arby's--Steak Nuggets. They are not bad, but I will never buy them again. Have you tried them?

Today was another glorious day-- sunny, barely warm and windy. I still cannot spray paint for the wind. Every year, I repaint my three birds. The blue bird is for year-round, black is for Halloween, and the redbird is for Christmas. It is too windy, but it will probably be too cold or wet when the wind dies down. I still have not found my cardinal to paint. I change these birds out seasonally. I made these and have more bodies and wings to glue more of these together.

I had Tommy search for the wreath hanger so I could hang the stack of pumpkins on the front door. I already have three hangers that I cannot find. I searched and searched in big box store, and found two, one in crafts and one with Christmas wreaths. I bought the cheaper. Craft items are always more expensive. When I brought it into the house, the one I knew I had was lying on top of Christmas things right inside of the door!!! grrrr

We went to a home improvement store and could find no one to help us. I suppose we will drive 30 miles to another location. There were so many people trying to help me at the far away location. We need to pick out new fixtures for the house. We only need three more, I think.     I may get ceiling fans. The electrician tried to talk us into new-fangled can lights. They are not recessed, just flush on the ceiling and very wide. I hate them. Do you have an opinion about these? Oh, he recommends getting rid of all the lamps!/? I definitely won't consult him for style tips.

Going to bed now. I have to go to doctor tomorrow.

Electrical Work

Electrician assured me it would be okay to rewire our house and splice aluminum wire with copper. They were going to replace fuses with

No, it is not according to code--illegal! This was the first of many lies. He wanted us to move out and leave him and crew with complete control of our house.

The first big, fat clue this was going to go wrong was his assurance that they were a Christian company and whatever worry I had was not going to happen.

Cost--$46K.

Even though he pressed for upfront of $5K and we paid for it, we will get our money back and have contracted with someone else.

Have you had experience with rewiring your house?

Banksy Inspired?

This scene is not from Hueytown. But, it was from their site. I wanted to crochet a panel but was too late. I had a page from Hueytown with our decorated trees. Now, I cannot find it.

The glorious, beautiful days continue with days in 80s. I think it will cool to 70s with rain this next week.

Tommy and I had our flu shots today. I did not feel the injection at all. Now, it does hurt. We did the grocery shopping at Publix. Tommy put sweet potato pie, Doritos, and ice cream on the list. So, I obliged him. I got him a Gingerbread Halloween house to decorate. he seemed to like it.

I refused to eat spaghetti because we had no parmesan cheese. The next day I paid an exorbitant can for $6. The next day it was on sale bogo for 2 for $6. I hate it when that happens. He put bscb for $5.39/lb. No way! Too expensive.

Today, orthopedist inquired about my bleeding toe the podiatrist worked on. sigh. He wants to operate on my back or send me to someone who will operate. He suggested in the meantime to use a pain patch. Anyone use a Salon Pas patch or anything else. I refused any pill for spinal pain.

I went to bed at 9 pm tonight and got up at 11pm. I would have gone to bed earlier, but Elkhorn is back. I hope I can go back to sleep soon. You see how going to bed at a "normal" time is of no help to me?

Blue Skies

Monday was a lovely day with white, fluffy clouds.

Tuesday was a cloud-free day with the most beautiful blue sky. We had a chore and then one thing to pick up at Publix. Last night, we made spaghetti. I forgot we had no parmesan cheese, so I could not bear eat it. So, I had spaghetti Tuesday night. It was delicious. Actually, Tommy made the spaghetti under my guidance.

I usually buy the Kraft shredded parmesan cheese for $1.99 on sale. Today, I paid $4.99. !!! I was not in the mood to drive around and find  a better price. So, that will be a goal. I am still horrified at the price I paid. I also ate two bites of chicken.

When I went to be at 4 pm for a nap since I slept for four hours the night before, Tommy was heading to the kitchen and told me he was going to bake two packages of chicken breasts. When I got up before 7pm,, he was still cooking. I ate at 8:30.

Most of the Halloween decorations are out. Maybe I will get the ghosts up soon. Tommy took the rubber snake and put it in the raised hand of Skelly (my skeleton). It appears he is a prophet raising it to sinners.

I accidentally found Philip Radko Shiny Brite Halloween ornaments on Amazon. I never knew they made those.

Christopher Radko Halloween Ornaments Shiny Brite Glass Set Of 12 Holiday | eBay

Oops, they have them on eBay, too.

I must go and do grounding and my stepper.

Did you have a beautiful, cloudless sky and blue, dry sky?

Tommy has agreed to get rid of the 50" television sitting behind the 32" screen. Whew! Thank goodness.

Pepper Place Festival

Saturday, we had made plans. Never mind I did not sleep one minute, we set out to go to Pepper Place. It is the site of the former Dr. Pepper Plant. Saturday was the market day. There is always music in three or four locations other than the fresh produce, prepared food, some ice cream vendors, car shows, and other things I have never seen.

I was so tired! We grabbed several pieces of pizza, cold from the refrigerator, bottles of water, and set out with clothes we threw on. It closes at noon, so we had to hurry to get there before it closed.

Last year, we parked in the apartment complex abutting the street festival. This time we were sad there-n was a car show (electric) in the parking lot. One side had cones that made us turn around.  So, I annoyed Tommy until he went in the other side of the tiny parking lot. There were several parking places there. He refused to back into a place. He is a horrible backing-upper anyway. I was going to have to sit facing the sun and nothing.

I asked if he would send someone to back the car into the parking spot. He did and I could see people, their bags of loot, little kids' antics and the edge of the festival. So little makes me happy!

Twice, I called Tommy, the last time to tell him people were packing up. I had told him to get tomatoes and little crook-neck yellow squash and anything else he wanted to eat or we would like, pastry, produce or whatever. I sent money in case he found something not produce. The card was my $50 produce card for seniors. It expires soon.

The second time I called him, he said he was on his way back with tomatoes, squash, and Beauregards. i think I shrieked. Those are my favorite sweet potatoes.

Then, he bought ice cream from Jeni's, right next to where I was in the car. We ate the ice cream in the car.

The guy who reparked the car, backing in, had an electric car right next to my window. The hood and trunk were both open. Someone had placed a purse in the trunk. Just before people left, three women were laughing and talking to him. Then, they all dumped, purses, bags and other items in the trunk and slammed it. When he returned I asked him about the purses in his trunk. He said it was his front trunk and pointed to the still open "back trunk." "It's electric" he said. Apparently, all the cars were electric.

I watched as a Tesla entertained people with its doors that could flap up and down like a bird.

We did nothing else even though we had a list of chores to accomplish in the next few days. We came home and I slept a whole two hours! I was so disappointed.

Tomorrow, I will consume at least some of our bounty--tomatoes in salads, squash with onions, baked Beauregards plain. There is no need for butter or sugar.

We had a wonderful Saturday. He is so tired and hurting, he can barely walk. We will go back every Saturday there is no rain until I have spent all of the $26 left. So I imagine he will spend it all next time we go.

Skeleton

This is just the beginning of our Halloween decorations. We put this out one evening, and it rained/drizzled all the next day. It will get done.

I did not realize the bathroom rugs were hanging on the ramp! We cannot get out back.

Today, the only thing we did was shop at Publix. There was a good sale on Jimmy Dean cooked sausage patties. One day, I scrambled three eggs, had two sausage patties, and about 12 ounces of milk. That lasted me for about eight hours. I was not hungry at dinner. I managed to eat a bit of chicken breast and slaw for dinner. I have repeated that breakfast several times since then.

One day, I heard rumbling and banging outdoors. Tommy said it was a piece of heavy equipment being unloaded. For thirty years there has been a pile of asphalt in the end of the driveway, a result of city work on a water line. It has looked like someone threw a couple of shovels full of asphalt in the gutter, gave it a couple of pats with the back of the shovel and called it good.

As a result, it is rough to walk over to get to the mailbox. After any rain, a puddle forms in the other part of the driveway gutter. Leaves and sticks gather. It is a nightmare to walk on safely to get to mailbox or cross the street with a walker. Officials refused to fix it, saying it was an approved fix. My new friend in city government agreed it needed a repair. So, now it is fixed with a nice concrete gutter.

Tommy put a downpayment and signed a contract to have the house rewired. We need to see if this is a reputable company before we commit to other needed repairs.

Tomorrow, he will put the house and other things in a trust. He was going to do it two months ago. I told him tonight that I would buy dinner so he would have time and would not have to cook or wash dishes. He is on it right now.

The grounding mat works! Instead of putting it on the floor and placing my feet on it, I now sit on it. My buttocks are not on it, just my bare legs/thighs to just below my knee. Does anyone else have experience with a grounding mat or grounding sheet?

The weather is mostly dry for the next week, so that makes me happy. How is your precipitation?

Bed

At the very top of the bed are three circles that really don't show up in this picture. They really add to the style of the bed. Can you see them? This is a new bed for $50. I always wanted an iron bed. I really like the footboard is nearly as tall as the headboard. I will paint this white or a pale pink.

Last week, we went to the Greek Festival. I had a chicken plate; Tommy had plate with lamb. We shared Baklava and Greek wedding cookies. I think both plates lasted three meals. I meant to get a casserole! But, I forgot.

Last week, we had dozens of birds on our porch, the ramp, and in every flower pot. The house across the street had hundreds of birds in the trees and shrubs I could see. They were all so noisy! It was a delightful experience. The next day, we had no birds. I was very disappointed, but I suppose they were migrating.

Today, we both prepared and went to dr appointment. But, the appointment is next Wednesday. grrrr

We picked up grocery ads instead. Tommy signed a contract for rewiring and put down a deposit. Pedro then helped take the battery from my car. It will go to Auto Zone.

Time for Halloween Decorations!

Today, I visited my favorite doctor office. I really love the np who is there. As I was being wheeled to the chair, I was devastated. The guy pushed me to the car, opened the door, and ran over my toes with the car door. I screamed and cried out, "You are running the car door over my foot." I whimpered and said nothing more. He said, "Well, you don't have to take it out on me." This was in a pitiful victim voice. I said in a low tone, "I am not taking it out on you." No, I did not report him. How do people treat people they are supposed to be helping so shoddily? Inside the facility, he made it clear he did not want to push me by his sighing and attitude. I just ignored it. It is his job.

I was given 5 prescriptions today.

Last night, I spent over three hours gagging, choking, and throwing up. The first time this ever happened, I almost threw up on the doctors' and nurses' feet as they stood and looked at me. Somehow, I had to have a shot to settle my stomach spasms or something like that. I had choked on rice, chicken, and soup. It happens often. Yes, have an appointment to see what is up. Tomorrow! The usual cure is to stretch my esophagus. Last time several years ago, it felt as if the doctor did nothing. One of these days, I will aspirate enough or choke to death!

Brain fog, dizziness, and lack of being to speak clearly are making me miserable. I will be glad when the antibiotic takes hold.

It is time for Halloween decorations!!! We did have a dogwood tree to hang ghosts on, but it just fell over one day in the wind. We will figure out where to hang them. I will pay Pedro $50 for an hour to come here and help us. I even have a lightweight pumpkin that will stay indoors in the living room.

November 1 Butterflies

As usual, sleep was elusive. Then, I didn't get my proper breakfast because I didn't. Tommy brought almost all the Halloween stuff ...
