White Paint and Doctors Who Did Me Wrong

White paint could cancel climate change. White Paint Could Cancel Climate Change I wonder.

About seven or eight years ago, I went to a new doctor. I went into the wrong building and had to hurry to get to the right building on time, walking really fast. When I got to the office, a nurse took my blood pressure immediately. I told her it would read high and it did, almost dangerously so.

The doctor told me my bp was high and he was going to give me something for bp. I asked if it he could have the nurse take it again since I was rushing when it was taken and now I am rested and heart not racing. He refused. I asked again. He said, "No." He had records for knee and back that I had had sent to him. I asked about getting a car tag and hang tag for handicapped parking. As he walked out the door, he said, "NO, you need to park as far from Walmart as possible, out near the road, and walk. And quit drinking Mt. Dew!" So, he insulted me, pegging me as a frequent WalMart shopper who drank Mt. Dew. I don't need denigration from medical personnel.

With that he was fully out the door and shut it hard, just short of slamming. I have to admit I hated that man. When I left immediately after he did, I quietly asked the nurse sitting in the hall if she could take my bp. She whispered yes with her head down and lips pursed. My blood pressure was something like 85/55. It always ran low. I asked the nurse could she record that number. She gave me a small, sly smile and said, "Yes."

In the same group of doctors was one who was convinced I was a lesbian. He warned a young girl about me. Well, he had seen me, a woman driving a young woman around and suspected the worst. I mean, now why else would a 65-year-old-woman be in the same car with a 25-year-old-woman unless to have a relationship? I had gone to a food bank and took the young woman with autism. She declared after our second encounter that I was her only friend! Her mother was furious when she heard what the doctor said and came and gave the doc 'what for' at the church that morning. He told me never to come to that church again because they were "not going to support my lifestyle." So, I think something the anti=lesbian doctor put on my chart must have colored the opinion of the first doctor. You easily can guess what Southern church this was.

Several years earlier, I was so ill--head, ears, chest, throat. When I went to doctor in same group, he ordered blood drawn. I asked why. He said to see what is wrong with you. Well, he gave me nothing, and did not examine throat or listen to chest. Two days later, his nurse called and said my blood sugar was high and something else, forgot what. I said I thought that I was supposed to be fasting for the blood sugar test. She was surprised and asked if I had just eaten. I said yes. She scoffed and said, "All that blood test said was that you had just eaten." Still, I was given nothing for the temp, cough, and head congestion.

I went to a urologist with pain in flank. He asked me what the pain in front under my ribs felt like. When I said it was like my liver was twisting, he ridiculed me and said in a nasty tone, "Well, I can assure you that your liver is not twisting. I was having lots of left-side pain and problems is the reason we went from flank to front area. I never went back.

No one can figure out why I have pain on right side of my body/trunk. This is chronic pain and makes me writhe. Tommy has quit being concerned because it's just me again...lol...screaming or gasping because of the pain.

I don't shop for doctors. I persist when I have a problem. When I went to my gyn he believed me and acted quickly. I told him I had cancer and he believed me but sent me to specialists and I did have cancer. A gynecological oncologist operated. I saw him a couple of weeks ago.

One doctor spotted my thyroid problem. I had just had another specialist choking me to check a problem two weeks before. Well, I asked him after thyroid surgery if he had not felt the lumps. He said he had but they were small. I did inform him that it was serious two months after his exam. After removal, they were the kind that always becomes cancerous.

What did you think of the painting everything super-white idea? I am for it. I can wear sunglasses.

Have you had encounters with doctors that leave you floored and not diagnosed?

Have you been insulted by a doctor's assumptions about your or your life?

Tuesday Things

I put the turkey bones on this morning, filled the pot with water and left the house about 10 am. When I got home after 5 pm, it looked like the same amount of water was in the pot! I checked to see if I thought the pot had been hot enough. I think it was well above 165F. So, I feel safe. Now, I have turned it up and will turn it down tonight when we go to bed.

This morning I had an appointment with a neurologist--nothing new or interesting and no tests. My fears were allayed.

THEN, I got a burger. We went to Big Box and I bought a can of silver glitter paint for the mum. It is sort of red from the red spray paint, but I will spray it with the silver glitter paint and put fairy lights in it. Then, I went to Publix.

Wednesday, I have an appointment about my toe. Tommy managed to half rip off his toenail with the seam of his pants. It is just hanging. Of course, it was loose or the seam could not dislodge it. So, hopefully, my doctor will see him. I called three podiatrists. One agreed to an emergency appointment just to remove the toenail, nothing else. The soonest emergency appoint was Jan. 15, 2022! That is the most positive response I received. What is it with podiatrists being so busy?

I started a new book--A Brief History of Time: Four Billion Years in Eight Chapters by Andrew H. Knoll.

It's almost 7 pm and we are going to search for the rest of the turkey in the freezer! Tommy can put a bin on his walker seat and I will hand things out, one shelf at a time. In the meantime, I will put another breast into the refrigerator to thaw.

We must get busy since I want to watch The Great American Light Fight, so I have to go. I love that show!

I Like It | Suspect in Lack of Sleep

Okay, it's official--I like cheese curds. I ate too many. Tommy would not try even a tiny bite. It seems to me I remember hearing something about their squeaking. These don't. Tommy wonders if they would make good grilled cheese sandwiches. I cannot imagine why not.

For dinner Sunday night, we were still full from the Whopper I wanted after my nice, long sleep. I sauteed zucchini, green and red peppers for Tommy along with a slice of some sort of turkey loaf. I had a little of the zucchini, a bite of the turkey stuff, and purple hull peas.

I sliced and froze the green onions I used earlier in the week. Plus, I froze the slivered almonds from the meal kit. I will put both into something I cook. It seems like I froze something else today.

Starting tomorrow, I will pick and freeze basil each morning. I pick in the morning, soak in salty water, rinse, and stick into a small freezer bag. When the bag is getting full, I just crush the basil in the bag. It tastes fresh when used. I have plans to make Mediterranean Pasta.

Monday

I slept for 6 hours, so a big deal after 8 hours last night. I think I have solved the sleep problem--Melatonin. It does help me sleep then wakes me--rebound effect. These two nights are the only nights I have not taken and melatonin or a much-reduced dose. So, tonight, I will either not take any or take just a portion of the dose.

Monday, Tommy took my metal chicken and my lawn chair to the front lawn so I could paint it white without a mist hitting his car, no fumes would get on the hummers or their feeders, and where I could move around it.

We don't do this in the back yard like normal people do because his steps from the house are only a foot from the utility room. We have to struggle so that it is not worth it. He has a huge, pretty, back yard. It has a huge tree that makes it cooler than the front yard.

I managed not to spray myself or my shoes, but did clean them in case it was just a mist I could not see. However, the wind changed and I inhaled lots of the mist. It caused my asthma to act up. I was so afraid I could not get into the house! Then, I was sooo out of breath and coughing, that Tommy had to find the inhaler on the table next to me. Of course, he found the two I did not need first.  My chest feels like I have 20 lbs. on me.

The "new friend" gave me cuttings of a plant. I forgot about it and kept it closed in a plastic bag. I think that was three weeks ago. It is blooming inside the plastic bag. In a few minutes, I will repot those.

The pansies look so happy, all fluffy and blowing in the breeze. They looked great when I brought them home, but they look so much more healthy now. I let the mums get too dry and they almost looked crunchy, but they have filled out after not only having been watered, but also sitting in water for a bit.

We went to Publix to give a recipe to a woman who works there. We bought and took a small bowl of watermelon to the park and ate it in the shade of a huge tree. I want at least a bit of traditional candy at Halloween, but those huge bags are too much to eat and too much sugar for two of us. I bought a tiny bag of candy corn that will be eaten by two people over several days.

About ten years ago, I had an idea for buying Halloween and Christmas candy. I bought it and opened it at the register, leaving the opened bag. I just refused to take it, telling the cashier she could have it. These people are younger and have children.

Tonight, Tommy is going to chop one of the two packages of ground beef for something for dinner. I will have leftover purple hull peas we got at the market. And, I am cooking Brussels sprouts. So, beef, purple hull peas, and Brussels sprouts and sliced tomatoes.

Have you ever had one of these wire chickens? Do you have any special pots you like to put plants into? What flower would work in place of pansies this next spring in the concrete chicken? They cannot be tall. And, must be able to withstand heat and sun.

I am sorry

As I was searching for Tommy's keys that I had last, I looked under sofa cushions and found 3 dimes and a nickel, my own money. Cn I count that as found money? I found a penny someplace else, forgot where.

The wind is causing me problems. My asthma is acting up and it feels like my throat and chest are closing up. Because of the wind, I have been forced not to spray paint. At my house, I had a large room where I could and did spray paint summer and winter. I also set seeds there to germinate. It was a good, handy, and rather large room.

I am so sorry, but I need a nap right now. I will write more on Sunday. Is the wind causing you any health problems? If the wind were blowing would it cause health problems?

The Plan; The Mistake

It is noon. The plan--paint the picnic table or all we can. It will have to be turned upside down to paint all of it. We will have to get someone to turn it twice. Valspar porch and patio paint is what I chose. I meant to have Tommy sand it first, but I can basically do that later and repaint edges.

The guy who brought it home has two like mine. He thought I ought to stain it. He kept insisting until I told him I like my picnic table white so I could see ants/bugs on it. He laughed and did not try to persuade me.

It is almost 2 pm and we are still inside. sigh Rain is coming about 4 am. And, I still have not stirred the paint. I forgot to have it shaken when I was there.

Tommy has lost weight, and I have gained a pound each day since we put the scales together. What is wrong with me??? He now only eats a half sandwich each lunch. He has lost a little over a pound, and I have gained three!

And, here is where the plan starts falling apart. No, I did not plan alone. He was all for this.

Now, at almost 3 pm, he says we can do this painting in the morning. Well, he tells me the rain will be over. So, I can paint a soggy table? This is all up to me now. So, I will go out and plant a few things this afternoon.

THEN, when I have had a few dry days, I can paint. I am not even going to ask him or discuss it. I will just go out and paint! Things like this annoy me. And, I can do laundry today.

So, I am going to call this day good or not and go do what I can in the plants. Now, I cannot carry enough water for all the plants on the porch. It was okay when I only had three herbs. Now, not so much.

The faucet still is not replaced. I have six new faucets inside along with two replacement handles that we did not use. I thought Tommy could put the hose onto the poorly running faucet and I could get a dribble of water, better than carrying it out a quart at a time.

Well, that was not a good idea. The hose connection to the faucet was faulty. I thought he was getting it on crooked. No, a guy looked at it, tried to get it on straight and said the washer inside was gone. If it is not one thing, it is another. I just want to water plants! This hose came from my house, one of the few things, maybe the only thing I rescued from the yard. So, there is no telling where the washer is now. I dragged it at home and dragged it from the car.

I am over doing anything today since it is almost 7 pm.

Dinner--baked chicken, sliced tomatoes, steamed zucchini.

How was your day? More productive than mine?

Tommy died

I am distraught! He died at 12:15 am on 3-14.
