Remember when I was losing weight. Well, I was not. Finally, after such great weight loss, I asked Tommy how his weight was fairing. He had not weighed that week. I asked him to weigh and tell me if it seemed the scales were off. He did not get on the scales, he just adjusted the scales--just moved them.
When the freezer was installed, we had to find a new spot for the scales. Since it cannot be placed on carpet, that left little room for it to go. I put it in front of the refrigerator and on the wall to the right of the refrigerator. It is not at all in the way since the door opens on the left. I had accidentally put the scales on the heat register just a bit. So, once it was placed properly, I have no longer lost all that weight. Bummer, right?
Since my oxygen maker/concentrator cannot be in the room with me, it is in the bedroom directly across the hall. Luckily, both doors are opposite one another and at the very end of the hall. The heat register had to be opened. So, that room is now cool. And, surprise, surprise, my room is cooler rather thant, stuffy and like an oven.
Better yet, since the room has to be open and climate regulated, I can sew in there. Hopefully, we can get the head in the cabinet.
Yesterday, I was given a dozen peaches. I love peaches fresh and raw, but I may bake something or put them in ice cream.
Wednesday, I canceled my teeth cleaning appointment because I was coughing and had lots of congestion. Even if they did not mind me feeling so ill, I would have continually choked and would have had to cough. My teeth feel like they need to be cleaned!
I hate waking up feeling ill, or coughing, or sneezing and have a moment of OH NO! We both have intermittent coughing and sneezing sessions, but within an hour, there is nothing going on. But, people might be leery of us coming into an office.
Right now, I am going to Tommy's vehicle and washing windows inside and out with vinegar. I can barely see out of the windows.
The first thing I am going to cook in the air fryer is potatoes.
I am reading Mary trump's book--Too Much and Never Enough.

Eggplant/Oxygen/Chores
Maybe Auburn gave me an ichiban eggplant plant. I just set the little pot inside a huge pot, planning on giving it away or murdering it. The roots grew out of the little three inch pot and into the 15" pot. So, i will leave it. It has had beautiful lavender flowers. Today, I found an eggplant ready to cut. There is no way I will eat this. I am going to saute it in olive oil with salt and pepper and put it in Tommy' salad. He is an adventurous eater. I am not. Although, he refused to eat sardines with me last night.
His dinner will be a salad-- tomatoes, cucumber, eggplant, baby carrots cut lengthwise in four pieces, and roast chicken thigh, all with Italian dressing. He followed his salad with a peach and a keto cookie. This meal will be so easy!
This the fourth oxygen generator I have had in a month. The last two were new out of the box and they smell! So, I am going to call the manufacturer. Does anyone have an oxygen generator and does it smell. It is like that tiny scent when you use a new curling iron, hair dryer, or other appliance. It stays and gets much worse and never burns off.
I got up Tuesday morning and was getting ready to go to a doctor's appointment when it occurred to me I had not gotten a call or text confirming I had an appointment and was I coming. So, I called and have an appointment at the end of September. Why did they cancel today's appointment and move it to September? For a patient with a heart condition?
We decided to go anyway and kept calling another doctor about getting an appointment there or a dental appointment. That didn't happen. Obviously, no one is canceling appointments.
At least, I was able to return the clothing to Belk and have those clothes off my account. I made a quick trip into Publix so we would not have to stop here. We ate at the lake. A lone mother duck had three baby ducks that were the size of a golf ball. All the other ducks had babies in the spring. Is it normal to have ducklings so late?

Sleeping with Darth Vader
The oxygen machine has a steady hum that is not annoying at all. However, it sort of wheezes in and puffs out forcefully. I think I remember that from Star Wars or was it Star Trek. At any rate. I slept with oxygen on Thursday night. Finally, I just passed out at 5 am from exhaustion. This is not fun.
I awoke at 9:30 and took a nap from noon to 3:30 with Darth Vader. I think the oxygen has helped me with the pain and exhaustion a tiny bit. My back still hurts, but somehow it is different.
The new Craftsman drill dumbfounded me today. I knew how to use the chuck, but could not. Tommy finally got it to work. Somehow the chuck was stuck and he managed to force it to work. After that, I had no trouble changing bits. The drill was $49 + $15 for bits.
Friday, I went outside and stood at the porch to drill holes in pots so I can plant. A door-to-door salesman came up and asked it he could help us. He saw both of us struggling to drill a hole in plastic...lol. Well, it was very hard plastic.
He helped with three large pots. No, he did it. When he asked if there was more, I told him I needed holes in the bottom of the garbage can. This puzzled him. When I told him I was going to plant potatoes in the garbage can, he said he had never heard of that. I explained it to him.
Since I have to pace myself, this is all I did Friday other than cooking pasta for spaghetti on Friday night. Saturday, I plan to plant til I drop. That will happen before I run out of plants!
I have the little iron table from the junk store in front of the house in the little area between driveway and walk and house. One of the chairs is there. So, one table and chair in the front and one table and chair in the back is the way things are now. Both tables need work. But, each functions as a table. No, they won't be used as is.
Friday night, I fell asleep easily with the Darth Vader machine. At any rate, I am thinking of putting the machine across the hall in another room.
Have you ever used one of the machines to make oxygen?

Tuesday Tired! Oops, it's Wednesday
I slept 3.5 hours Tuesday night, got up at 8 am on Wednesday, washed my hair after I took my pill, and then had to wait an hour to eat. I had banana and milk. There is more, but first.
As I was making a chicken sandwich Tuesday for lunch on Wednesday on our trip to Cullman and even more northward to go to a doctor, I asked Tommy if he wanted me to make him a sausage sandwich to eat instead of buying breakfast. He hemmed and hawed. Finally, I asked him for the third or fourth time to tell me because I was having sausage and bun not a bought one.
I was given a bag of huge but thin sausages which are very mild. I like them and they fit on a hamburger bun. He does not like them so much, but he is eating them as they are food. So, we were not buying sausage and biscuits this morning. I asked him if he wanted to just get coffee. "no" AND, he only wanted one slice of bread.
He is weighing after telling me he would weigh maybe every few months, if that. So, he cares. And, he appreciates the scales.
We even ate the sausages at home instead on the road. Oh, he scares me eating and driving, so for about two months, I tell him I want to just eat and relax as we park. It is working to keep me less stressed. He had eaten cereal and milk about 7:30.
We drove straight to the doctor with only a trip to bank and to pay a bill, minor stops. Then, I drank my little six ounce yogurt. We arrived at the doctors and I went in two minutes before my appointment. But, they had a systemwide computer failure and had to call Huntsville in order to check in patients. And, there was something else wrong.
They said, yes, they would call me and I could sit in the car until it was my turn. So, I had to wait an hour and got hungry and ate my sandwich.
After the doctor's appointment and two trips to pick a medical device and a stop for a prescription and two grocery store trips, I was hungry again. Can you believe it. And, then I wanted a Whopper jr. With a coupon, we spent $3.48 and both had a 50 cent drink from the cheap machine.
ugh. tommy wanted to know what the meal between lunch and dinner was called.
Tommy is not eager to help me drill. So, I bought a drill and bits! Out in the country, I bought two plants from the woman starting the CSA. One is cherry tomato and the other is a plant with tiny peppers, not hot, in red, green, and orange.
My eye has been bothering me, just a little place near the inner corner of my eye and on top lid. Well, I have a "tiny sty." And, eyedrops.
The pulse oximeter I wore one night showed my level oxygen dropped to 54. So, I now have a machine that makes oxygen and I have little tubes to stick in my nose. Yay! But, it is my hope I feel better. So, I guess 54 is too low. ??? When awake it is 99--100.
When we got home, I asked Tommy how he would like strawberry shortcake for dinner. He said it sounded okay. I have reneged and told him he could have crackers and cheese and strawberries whole for dinner. He is okay with it. The Whopper jrs had lettuce and tomatoes, so we are good, right?

CBD for Pain
The pain and exhaustion I feel from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome are unimaginable to most people, even to me some days. Yet, the only relief available for a potential "cure" has been meds for depression, something that changes my brain in ways I do not want. Even these drugs may not help.
Today, I saw that a health food store in town sells CBD oil. (CBD oil is made from marijuana.) Even so, I am leery of this treatment. Besides, I do not trust health food stores. Once, a man who owned a health food store told me that Valerian is less processed than Valium, making the Valerian safer and more effective. He said they come from the same plant. Well, I knew that was a lie, and I suspect he did, too. He had tales like this to induce me and others to buy his products. I was an early user of the internet and knew how to find answers. He closed and moved.
When I had a hysterectomy three years ago, I awoke from surgery and tried to pull the little oxygen delivery system tubes from my nose. The nurses kept telling me to stop and pulled my hands away. Finally, I understood and quit. I had to use these all day and the next night. When I awoke the next morning, I was free of the chronic fatigue that I awake experiencing EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
For three long years I have wondered if it was the continuous oxygen that made me feel better. Finally, last month I googled "oxygen helps chronic fatigue." AND, studies show that oxygen is good for chronic fatigue symptoms--fatigue that is not relieved by sleep or rest. Of course, it appears that a person must spend hours in a bariatric chamber to be helped. I am quite sure that is expensive and not available in this small town!
Would you try CBD oil for the pain, and maybe the exhaustion? There are side effects I do not relish--convulsions is the major turnoff. I have never used marijuana, yet. When I am 90, I would like to have just one hit. My lungs will probably not like it...lol. I also wonder if the little things in the end of my nose would deliver enough oxygen, just at night to relieve the fatigue. What do you think? Yes, I know I need to consult a physician. Maybe someone has had experience with these problems or cures.
Today, a neighbor helped me by lifting my hypertufa pot from the car, moving another plant from a table, and putting the hypertufa pot on that table where he put it under a tree. Then, he lifted and carried three bags of soil from the car to back yard. Whew!
While on that side of the yard, he reattached my hose to the faucet. The guy who mowed must have removed it. I tried really hard to screw it back on, but could not.
He saw my new cat, "KITTY." She appeared to be hunting over there. I talked to her and petted her and fed her. She is not gone completely, at least! He saw his cat here, apparently "hunting" where Kitty once hunted.
These little things that once I could do are now major chores.
