White Paint and Doctors Who Did Me Wrong

White paint could cancel climate change. White Paint Could Cancel Climate Change I wonder.

About seven or eight years ago, I went to a new doctor. I went into the wrong building and had to hurry to get to the right building on time, walking really fast. When I got to the office, a nurse took my blood pressure immediately. I told her it would read high and it did, almost dangerously so.

The doctor told me my bp was high and he was going to give me something for bp. I asked if it he could have the nurse take it again since I was rushing when it was taken and now I am rested and heart not racing. He refused. I asked again. He said, "No." He had records for knee and back that I had had sent to him. I asked about getting a car tag and hang tag for handicapped parking. As he walked out the door, he said, "NO, you need to park as far from Walmart as possible, out near the road, and walk. And quit drinking Mt. Dew!" So, he insulted me, pegging me as a frequent WalMart shopper who drank Mt. Dew. I don't need denigration from medical personnel.

With that he was fully out the door and shut it hard, just short of slamming. I have to admit I hated that man. When I left immediately after he did, I quietly asked the nurse sitting in the hall if she could take my bp. She whispered yes with her head down and lips pursed. My blood pressure was something like 85/55. It always ran low. I asked the nurse could she record that number. She gave me a small, sly smile and said, "Yes."

In the same group of doctors was one who was convinced I was a lesbian. He warned a young girl about me. Well, he had seen me, a woman driving a young woman around and suspected the worst. I mean, now why else would a 65-year-old-woman be in the same car with a 25-year-old-woman unless to have a relationship? I had gone to a food bank and took the young woman with autism. She declared after our second encounter that I was her only friend! Her mother was furious when she heard what the doctor said and came and gave the doc 'what for' at the church that morning. He told me never to come to that church again because they were "not going to support my lifestyle." So, I think something the anti=lesbian doctor put on my chart must have colored the opinion of the first doctor. You easily can guess what Southern church this was.

Several years earlier, I was so ill--head, ears, chest, throat. When I went to doctor in same group, he ordered blood drawn. I asked why. He said to see what is wrong with you. Well, he gave me nothing, and did not examine throat or listen to chest. Two days later, his nurse called and said my blood sugar was high and something else, forgot what. I said I thought that I was supposed to be fasting for the blood sugar test. She was surprised and asked if I had just eaten. I said yes. She scoffed and said, "All that blood test said was that you had just eaten." Still, I was given nothing for the temp, cough, and head congestion.

I went to a urologist with pain in flank. He asked me what the pain in front under my ribs felt like. When I said it was like my liver was twisting, he ridiculed me and said in a nasty tone, "Well, I can assure you that your liver is not twisting. I was having lots of left-side pain and problems is the reason we went from flank to front area. I never went back.

No one can figure out why I have pain on right side of my body/trunk. This is chronic pain and makes me writhe. Tommy has quit being concerned because it's just me again...lol...screaming or gasping because of the pain.

I don't shop for doctors. I persist when I have a problem. When I went to my gyn he believed me and acted quickly. I told him I had cancer and he believed me but sent me to specialists and I did have cancer. A gynecological oncologist operated. I saw him a couple of weeks ago.

One doctor spotted my thyroid problem. I had just had another specialist choking me to check a problem two weeks before. Well, I asked him after thyroid surgery if he had not felt the lumps. He said he had but they were small. I did inform him that it was serious two months after his exam. After removal, they were the kind that always becomes cancerous.

What did you think of the painting everything super-white idea? I am for it. I can wear sunglasses.

Have you had encounters with doctors that leave you floored and not diagnosed?

Have you been insulted by a doctor's assumptions about your or your life?

A Camera Up My Nose

It is true. My ENT put a long instrument up my nose that stretched the end of my nose as he put it far up in my nostril. I was totally unaware of what was happening. When we were in the car, Tommy said he could see the camera view as the doctor looked inside my nose far up past everything I have never seen or felt. He said it was like going through a jungle. Well, obviously there is hair in my nose as it should be.

Because I have been getting ill, one sinus infection after the other, each requiring another antibiotic, I went back to my ENT. I have to sing his praises. I love this man, love in a pure, affectionate way that is engendered by his ability to listen, respond, and treat me.

One statement in particular has secured his place in my list of doctors that are superb. Since my left ear hurt me for over a year, it is a particular sore spot the way doctors have treated this problem. Yesterday, once again, I ventured to say to a doctor, "Does sleeping on my left side cause my left ear to hurt?" Well, it was something like that. He said that it was the reason my left ear hurt and went on the explain why. Don't ask me exactly what he said. But, it has something to do with the blood going there, causing congestion because old blood vessels don't respond as they did when a young person slept in the same position. Basically, I am old!

I have had doctors thinly veil their amusement at my silly unmedical explanation of my problem. I have been made to feel unaware of my body. Sure, I may have silly notions about what is happening in my body, but doctors don't need to be so transparent in their disdain of my thoughts. Now, I have had doctors openly snicker and explain to me the problem. They, however, did not seem to be mean about their amusement. The attitude of many doctors is intended to silence a person in order for the doctor to be the authority. Well, they are the authority, but that does not mean the patient might be onto something.

When the doctor agreed that lying on my left side was why I was having trouble with my ear hurting, I told him that other doctors had disagreed with my assessment. He said, "Well, some doctors don't know what they are talking about." This exchange relieved me of a burden. And, no, I cannot sleep on my right side.

About half the time, I leave the doctor actually a bit depressed at the level of care. However, I have curated my physicians until now, I receive better care. I suppose it is a bit like finding a garage or mechanic.

Right now, I am choking and can barely breathe because of the congestion in my head. He gave me a sinus rinse kit. Now, I am waiting for a compounding pharmacy to send me antibiotic in a capsule to put in this with distilled water to use.

My primary physician I lately left had a strange solution. My left foot and leg were swollen. He leaned close to me and asked me if I could wiggle my foot a bit to relieve the congestion. That was bizarre since this is not just from sitting on an airplane or sitting at all. Besides, the calf muscles need to be involved for the body pump to work.

While he was looking in my throat and feeling my throat, I mentioned my thyroid problem and said I needed to get an ultrasound. He volunteered to schedule the ultrasound right at this facility. That is now in my day planner.

I know you have had experience with medical professionals who were less than they should have been. Share here, if you please. Have you ever had a camera up your nose to examine you?

Doctors and The Chocolate Lounge Found and More Exercises

Tuesday, I had a long neglected appointment with a retinal specialist. Fortunately, this last year has not caused further damage to my macula. He kept reassuring me, but I still have to perform an Amsler grid test everyday without fail.  It is scary, but I have to determine if my vision is worsening with a graph.

My macula started to pucker about thirty years ago. The doctor is talking surgery which I will not resist! The macula is scarring my retina. For me macular degeneration is scarier than heart disease. Not being able to see is a nightmare for me. With heart disease, you just die.

This is just the beginning of doctor appointments that I have delayed. People keep telling me I don't look my age, that I look much younger. I suppose this proves you don't have to look old to have old people  health problems.

Wednesday, I am off to see endocrinologist. Okay, back.

There was lots of good news and a little bad news. My AIC is up a tad. My cholesterol is down to where it should be, but he wants it lower. My blood pressure was 110/63. Thyroid level is finally okay. I have an ultrasound scheduled for nodules behind my thyroid. I believe more have developed. So, maybe this is all uninteresting.

I did go to The Chocolate Lounge and (Tommy)  bought two chocolates for a total of $7.15.  It is located in a business that says "Art Camp" at 1925 29th Ave in Homewood, Alabama. The chocolate lounge is an old-fashioned looking candy counter and on a table with chocolate truffles on  footed cake  plates with covers. The guy said they order these from Texas.  I know, I know. I go to the doctor about diabetes and eat chocolates!

The bread store was on the way home. My favorite bread that is usually $3.59 was $1.09. The two loaves had dates of May 5, 2021 and May 9, 2021. So, none of it will be stale. If I can get one loaf in the freezer, I will put it there.

Today, I did my sitting marching for TWO MINUTES! I felt no worse than the first day I exercised for 30 seconds. A blog friend sent me a page of similarly easy exercises, so I will add those. I must be a bit more fit.

Tommy died

I am distraught! He died at 12:15 am on 3-14.
