Violence in the Daycare Against the Teacher

A four-year-old boy sent a teacher for stitches and with other injuries. She refused to go to ER with blood flowing down her face. She may have a concussion and a broken nose. She injured her knee and shoulder. She refuses to let workman's comp pay her bills. Why all this? She does not want to lose her job at 75! I think at this point, they will let her go.

Maybe I don't want to work at this place where children are allowed to brutalize the teacher. What if it is a small child next time? Or, me? Maybe I don't want to work here.

Her face is all cut up and bruised. There is a huge bandage on her forehead. The child ran past her and then immediately in front of her. Then, he shoved her. This place is licensed and has DHR to oversee that it is doing things correctly. Yet, this can happen. I only found out about this afternoon.

Sluggy, you wonder about the drivers. Well, this kid with no self-control and no raising will be driving one day.

He will get one day out of class and be allowed to come back and continue his reign of terror. Parents just dump the kid in trouble with a grandparent who probably cannot manage the child's violence and misbehaving.

Thankfully, I am not a designated reporter anymore. Or, am I? I would lose a friend if I reported it. I need someone far away from Alabama to report this.

I spent the night running a temp and shivering. Glands under my ears are throbbing. I slept from 1 am to 2 am, stayed awake until 7:30 am, sat at laptop until 9 am, and slept until 1:30 pm. Now, I am taking an antibiotic. MRI trip of 200 miles round trip was cancelled for maintenance of their equipment. I am glad I did not have to cancel again this week.

My baby girl is 47 today!

For dinner we will have cheeseburgers without a bun, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Maybe Tommy will have a bun.

Friday Naps

Two naps each seems about right. Well, my body thought so today.

The food boxes we picked up went mostly to my neighbor whose father died. She is raising two little boys, about 4 and 2. She was happy to see milk and hotdogs and meatballs from our box, plus a whole box of her own with hotdogs, meatballs, milk, 12 yoplait yogurts, two quarts half and half milk, pound of mozarella, two bags salad, doughnuts, oranges, cabbage, potatoes, onion.

Tommy is going to wash the poop off my blue bird. For three days now. He is dallying. So, I put it on his sink. Do you think he will remember now?

After my last nap, I wanted a tomato for the salad, so we went to Publix and I bought two tomatoes, grape tomatoes, one navel orange, can of chicken broth, on half gallon milk, and a piece of carrot cake.

I have not had a navel orange in ages, and I love them. However, I don't buy them because I don't need the fiber. The broth is to drink tonight, maybe instead of dinner. And, the carrot cake was there.

I am limp, so I have to go.

Stocking Up

Thursday

There were no bananas here for Friday, and I was going to run out of milk before it quit raining. So, I went to Publix. There I found Miracle Whip BOGO, so I spent $3.25 for each of two jars of MW. GREAT DEAL for me!

I use lots of Kraft Parmesan Cheese in the green shaker can. Usually, it is $4.19. Today, it was $3/shaker AND there was a pad with 50 cent coupons. Of course, I got coupons and bought 4 shaker cans for $2.50 each. That has been my best price in the last few years.

This sale for these two items will be good through next Tuesday. Some other stores might have the pads of coupons displayed. Maybe coupons, too.

For use now, I bought bananas and one half-gallon of a2milk. There is no room for my usual 4 or 6 cartons. The guy asked me twice was that all I wanted. Usually, he hauls 4 or 6 off the shelf and puts them in my cart.

There may be other Kraft items on sale. I need to check that before next Tuesday when the sale ends.

Okay, it is 3 am Friday morning. On Thursday morning, I awoke around noon, having slept fitfully. I took two naps and went to bed at 10:30 pm Thursday night.  At 12:30 pm, I awoke shivering. Obviously, I had a fever!

10:30 AM Friday

When I went to bed at 10:30 pm, I told Tommy to wake me at 10:30 If I were not up yet. So, he did. My head hurts and head and ears are ringing. I am so ill. But, my fever is not too high! I feel feverish, but have not taken my temperature yet.

Gotta go.

Fever and Food

I had not been able to wash dishes or cook most of the time for ten days, so there were stacks of dishes, not plates or anything for eating. Storage and glass bowls and casseroles were all over.

My temperature was 99.8 on Christmas Day and again on Sunday. So, I started taking antibiotic again. However, Monday morning it was again up to 98.9.

After Christmas Day my temp slowly came down from early morning to night, down to 97. 8. Then, it went  back up again on Sunday. My normal temperature is usually 97.2. So, you can see the problem here. Maybe a trip to an ENT will solve this mystery.

Sunday, I was up about 8:30 and back to bed by 9:30 and back up by 1:00 pm. I sat here a bit and finally told Tommy I needed KFC. He was ready and willing. So, after eating KFC breast meal, I felt revived, if not well.

After KFC I was starving a few hours later. Once again, Tommy helped me get food to eat. He opened the can of Hormel Roast Beef, I peeled two potatoes, and he found with my directions the pound of baby carrots. He brought me the cookie sheet, knife, potatoes, onion and cooking bag. I did everything from the sofa! Maybe some day, he can do this for himself, but I have my doubts. Dinner was delicious.

Still, I wanted something...lol. Later, I decided I would make a cheese cake, the no-bake kind. I managed to drop the bought crumb crust with the clear top still on. So, I put the pieces into two bowls, put the topping in and divided the thawed strawberries  and put it on top. We could eat our own bowl as we pleased, whatever time line suited each of us.

The no-bake cheesecake was awful. I used Cool Whip instead of whipped cream. And, I did not thaw the CW before I stirred it into the cream cheese, so it was not consistently smooth. The strawberries were a taste of summer, strawberries I froze this summer.

Monday, today, I finally set about to cooking and washing dishes with Tommy heavily involved. He wanders off when he thinks it is over...lol. Right now, he is looking for black beans, whole kernel corn, and tomatoes. With his help I browned ground pork on the stove. I know I can put it in the crock pot, but I don't. When it has everything in the crock pot, I will see if the turkey breast is rotten since it has been in the refrigerator, thawing, for a week.

The taco salad can be frozen so we will have food prepared. It ends up being taco soup when it is put into the Crock Pot. But, I love it. Same with frozen turkey breast portions. I much prefer having a turkey or chicken sandwich to eating fast food when we are out and about here or out of town.

Baking a turkey is too difficult for me anymore. So, I am going to stick to turkey breasts or chickens to bake until they are all cooked and frozen. I decided I will bake the three turkeys in the freezer, one after another, and freeze the meat. That will certainly give me more room in the freezer and meats cooked for quick and easy meals.

Last week, I bought a 6 lb. bag of broccoli florets, so that and frozen carrots will make a quick meal, too. The carrots are in the freezer, blanched and raw or cooked/baked.

My next food goal later this week is potato soup with carrot coins, cheese and kale and bacon. Yum!

My friend who is 88 said she has cooked meals for a family for 70 years and she is just tired of it. So, she and her 90-year-old husband run out for a fast food meal every day. I am not at that point, but near...lol.

Now, my temp is 99.6. I refuse to take anything to reduce my fever since a fever is a sign my body is fighting for me.

A Different kind of Box

It is hard to know my true temp. I am using a digital thermometer under my arm. Plus, my normal temperature is about 97.2. The thermometer takes my  temp in about 10 seconds. I like that if it is doing a good job.

Tomorrow morning, I am going to the doctor. The head and throat congestion is not going away soon.

Thursday, a different oxygen generator was delivered and plugged in by the guy who delivered it. Tommy hooked up all the tubing. Then, last night, I turned it on. It has a smell like the other ones did, but not the same smell or as pervasive. It has been running but not in use. Hopefully, tonight I can use it.

When it was delivered, there were six oxygen bottle and a portable thing to wear. That was not ordered, so I sent it back.

Today, we went to a different food box handout. I gave all the sweet potatoes, potatoes, and the one orange to neighbor along with two gallons of milk, and two-lb bag of lentils. I also gave them two boxed dinners from another day. Thursday, we did not go to a box handout.

There were three small bags, each tied up. In each bag was ground beef, cheese, and frozen little containers of peaches.

So:

3 2-lb packages of ground beef

3 2-lb. packages of grated mozarella

18 4-oz container of frozen peaches.

24 oz can of pork

2 jars of peanut butter

package of pasta and tomato sauce packet

I tried to make ice cream but did something wrong because the machine kept binding. So, I turned it off and went to take an hour nap. The cold bowl froze what was left after I had some of the chocolate "ice cream" as chocolate milk.

Over an hour later, the chocolate milk left in the bottom was frozen. I ate a little and Tommy ate more--right out of the freezing bowl. He said it tasted like a chocolate milk popsicle.

I have cauliflower rice that i am going to add squash, zucchini, grated cheese, eggs and bake. Hopefully, it will be edible. And, chicken in a bag in the oven will be the other thing I will cook tonight.

So, that was Friday. How was your Friday. Any bargains or deals out there?

Tommy died

I am distraught! He died at 12:15 am on 3-14.
