Clean Bathroom!

The cleaner is here cleaning. YAY! I asked her if she had ever seen a filthier bathroom. She said, "NO!" I had warned her before she came.  In addition to the things I bought, I gave her vinegar IF she wanted it. She took it. And, I gave her a little tub of baking soda. She was using both. She was using both even though I had bought everything she asked for when I talked to her.

Tommy had a little plastic corner shelf attached to the wall in the shower that he used for his soap and washcloth. I told her if it would come off the wall, remove it. He may have a fit, but it was black, nasty and moldy inside the shelf and behind it when removed from the wall.

Tommy took the rugs out and they will be dried in the sun and will be ready for the clean bathroom.

She stayed 3 hours, actively cleaning the whole time. There are things not done all the way, but when she comes back, we will deal with those things. Yes, I will pay for further cleaning in there. It was a horror. Tommy went to see after she left and said, "WOW!" I asked what. He said it is so bright...lol.

I took a nap while she was here, sitting in my chair with the back leaned back. I put my tshirt headband over my eyes, and pulled the quilt on the chair down over my head. Tommy turned the TV down and no one called me. it was a great nap.

She stayed 3 hours. She charges $18/hr. I told Tommy to give her $70. I figured $20hr. and another $10. She thanked me like she was surprised.

When Tommy goes to water at 7 pm, I am going out to see what he is "deadheading." I think he is "liveheading" the blossoms not yet out. I need to show him the flower ovary!

It is very hot again today. "Feels like" temperature was over 100F.

I need to go cook something, so we can watch "Steel Magnolias" for about the tenth time.

This and That

Tuesday was just Tuesday. And, I am eternally grateful it was quiet and easy. No drama. Not even good busyness like Monday. We went out for a bit. I did take a short nap after a good talk with a friend.

Tuesday night, I felt very sleepy approaching midnight. When I told Tommy I was going to bed, he did not have a heart attack at my early bedtime, he just turned off the light and TV immediately.  Of course, I was not going to sleep immediately.

I read The Beautiful Mystery, by Louise Penny,  the book I started last Friday night, but only two short chapters. As soon as I became really sleepy, I stopped reading and went to sleep. So, by 7:45 am on Wednesday, I was awake and ready to get up.

Wednesday, I measured the half bath off another bedroom, a bathroom I am forbidden to use. It measures 39" x 49" and the commode is 8 " from the wall. That is 8" of knee-room to sit. I read that a commode should have at least 23" in front of it. And, the commode is one of the short ones. Maybe I cannot use it...lol. Some pull bars would help. I wonder if I could sneak a gallon of paint in there and paint it a pale pink.

I sprayed my wire chicken again. It will take more spraying to get it covered. Next spraying or two, the chicken will have to be upside down. The wind keeps changing while I spray it, but today I wore a black and white outfit, so if it gets sprayed, it will not show too much. Besides, the outfit is something I wear at home. My black leather sandals won't look too bad with white specks!

Wednesday dinner was a chicken breast in the park and a huge salad a bit later at home. Tomorrow night, it might be a peanut butter sandwich since Tommy shows no signs of helping with the dishwasher. Next time, he gets to load dirty dishes and to wash the ones that don't come clean because of the way he loads it...lol.  We may have to have a come-to-Jesus-meeting.

I came upon a green jack-o'-lantern and my metal Halloween box, so those are out. I need to look for the ghosts we used last year. Did I say my wooden blackbird is hanging where one of the hummingbird feeders was hanging?

A friend with whom I have not spoken for a year is having surgery Thursday on a trigger finger, so that call was longer than I planned. She is the one who is getting the recyclable cans to redeem, the cans I delivered to a mutual friend on Monday. She does not want patterns and said she was looking at hers yesterday and is going to give hers away, too. But, like me, does not know where to take plastic bottles.

I have about 15 pounds of ugly, misshapen carrots to cook, 5 pounds of zucchini to cook for Tommy, and about 8 very large cucumbers to wash and slice for him for salads. So, I have lots to do on Thursday, maybe into Friday.

Fall weather is supposed to arrive this weekend. Rats! low 70s during the day will call for taking a sweater along, just in case. Then, 60s on Monday will mean I will need a sweater early, late, or in the shade. I wonder if this is the end of summer.

The new ads came out yesterday. I found Kraft Miracle Whip and Kraft Mayo bogo at Publix. So, I got one of both, each of which have date of 4/22. I use very little Mayo, but do put it in Suddenly Salad. The Granny Smith apples I bought for $1.49/lb. are now more than twice that--$3.99/lb. I need to look online for The Pig and other ads.

My back hurts me so from spray painting. If I don't paint today, the rest will have to wait until spring or a very warm snap later this year. It was not the painting, but the carrying/dragging the heavy wire chicken and the chair to sit in.

What have you been doing? What are your plans for this weekend?

This and That

*on Saturday, toward the end of the event described yesterday, a man took a great interest in us and offered to carry our loot to the car. Remember, we already had two plastic bags and two blankets in the car. We told him this and his daughter brought more. Leaving, he gave us another blanket and two more plastic bags of stuff. He was very jovial and overly friendly. While Tommy was still getting into the car and I was fully seated in the car, the man really scared me. He had his head and part of his body in the car and I saw his hand coming up on the left side of my head. Picture that. I startled and moved forward a bit, just my upper body and head. I turned and his face was about three inches from mine. I said, "NO, and he moved back but still was engaged with my body. I said to him, "First of all, we don't know other that well, and second, you are hurting me." He had his arm behind my back and fingers around my neck and shoulder. It was absolutely creepy. He backed out of the car and said, "I'm sorry." I slammed the door.

These assumptions from "Christians" that they have rights once you come into the church or into nonphysical contact really offends me. NO, just because I am friendly inside your church and you have given me something, you have no right to take liberties.

Tommy does not remember telling me I could "throw out any crap in the kitchen" that needs it. He also did not remember I showed him the sugar container. Like I said, I will do the throwing away slowly.

Today, I went into the bathroom and there were two dingy raggedy (mostly string) washcloths on the bathroom vanity. He barely squeezes the water out of them. Later in the day, I bought him two mint green washcloths, the color of the one-inch tiles on the floor and vanity top. I knew he would yell because I spent my money on them and say if he needed washcloths, he would buy them. NO, he won't. I just folded them and put them on the corner of the counter that I knew he would need to touch. Finally, he went to the bathroom, pushed them back a little and never said a word.

Next, I am going to buy a new commode brush with holder. The one he has is absolutely black in the bottom of the holder. That is either poop or mold--disgusting. No, I am not going to wash it and clean the black stuff out of the bottom. And, neither will he. I don't think he has used that brush in years. I am the only one to clean the new commode. He may explode.

Thanks to Anne, I bought butter at Aldi's for $1.99/lb.

I got sleepy during the writing of this post, then on Monday felt bad, not ill. So here is what I promised another blogger. It is about ways to get meds taken by seniors. I think she has the problem solved. But, here goes.

from Bottom Line's secret 67 Special Reports:

There are medication dispensing devices that signal the person, even remotely. They remotely signal a provider or family member if a pill is missed. That is about all about this subject. Sorry I was so long getting this on the blog.

I asked Tommy about how he like the washcloths and he exploded. Then, he threw them on top of my clean towels in my bedroom. His bathroom counter is disgustingly dirty, so he caused me to have to rewash the towel I use for hair coloring. I put the washcloths back on the bathroom counter and he screamed he would keep putting them back in my room. I told him in no uncertain terms how filthy his counter was and not to put them near anything of mine, to just throw them into the kitchen trash. So, this is Monday and the cloths are still there in the bathroom. I never use his sink because he has a big bowl in the sink and it is usually so fully of nasty water that I just go to the kitchen for brushing my teeth or washing up. Ready to kill the man on Sunday. Unfortunately, I cannot sustain an argument that long, so we are back to civility, even friendliness.

Right now, I am using the crockpot to cook ground sirloin, potatoes, carrots with savory and a can of diced tomatoes. All this was given to me. So, pretty much a free meal.

I had peeled all the potatoes and decided to take some of the diced potatoes and make potato salad for me since I had four boiled eggs left. I put the diced potatoes in my one Corning Ware casserole left and did not put water in it . Then, I put water in and forgot to go back and check, so they boiled dry and scorched. I had six little diced pieces that were not stuck and scorched. I told you I did not feel well.

It is an hour past Tommy's dinnertime and he keeps asking when it will be done. I just did not start soon enough. Earlier, when I realized I was going to be late getting this done, I asked him about having a hamburger with lettuce and tomato on it. He agreed and then got upset when he realized I meant tonight...lol. So, I dumped the ground sirloin into the crockpot. Now, we wait.

Okay, it is done and we both enjoyed a delicious meal. Then, I wanted chocolate, but there is none here. I am afraid I have eaten too many sweets tonight.

Tommy died

I am distraught! He died at 12:15 am on 3-14.
