Tommy's Surprise/My Surprise

 Tommy came in from the mailbox holding an envelope with what appeared to be something thick, about an inch thick, appearing to be something about the size of a magazine, albeit, a thick one. He looked puzzled. I asked him if it was for me and to let me have it. He said it had his name on it, but it was from La Jolla, California.  I knew immediately and told it was from my friend, Janet, that she said he never got things, so it was a surprise for him. 

Well, he looked at the Reminisce magazines the rest of the afternoon! He also read some of the articles to me. So, Janet, that was a success. Thanks. Now, I cannot wait to read them, too. 

When I struggled into the kitchen before I turned off the lights, I noticed there were no dirty dishes in the sink. I looked in the dishwasher. Tommy had loaded the bowls and saucers. Several months ago when I could not load dishes, he started by only putting in the utensils. I had to correct the way he did that. He took to loading utensils often and well. Then, he decided he would load plates. Other than turning all the plates in one direction, he did well and corrected the way he loaded plates. 

Now, the task is almost complete! He loads the top rack! As I load while he hands things to me from the faraway sink, I talk about what I need and why I do whatever I am doing/loadiing. Of course, sometimes he puts the dishes on the counter over the dishwasher. 

He has gotten where he takes instructions better, thankfully. I am not strident or judgy, just commenting as I work. He finally understands I am not being bossy. 

I quit taking the antibiotic since I had taken 7 days already. Another 8 days would be undoable for me. I was getting sick again. Plus, the pain from the med was unbearable. It is like my body shuts down. Now, I will need another appointment! I finally feel human, just ill.

The temperature will be in 80s this week, so I am looking forward to this coming week.

A Beautiful Beginning and End to Sunday

Plus, it was good all day...lol. 

Today dawned bright, beautiful, and cold! Cold is okay as long as it is sunny and dry. I slept well and long! We went for a short drive, and while we were out, I stopped by The Pig to see if I could find pie crusts. I did. The place was so crowded! Pie crusts will probably be on sale in the Tuesday ads since I bought them this week at regular price. I don't want to take a chance. I did buy two, thinking we don't even need one pie. However, I will make at least one pie for Thanksgiving and pie when we actually eat a turkey dinner the next week. So, today, I bought another package of two. 

This next bit was cute, funny, sad, not sure. But, definitely not a criticism of skills. He just does not know. Really, I need to record every word spoken between us as he swears I always get it wrong. 

For some reason Tommy decided to load the dishwasher when I was ill this last week. He said he loaded the utensils into the dishwasher door and "they are all pointing up." That was really nice of him. When I am ill, I am so lethargic. Then, when I was starting to feel better, he said he put all the plates into the dishwasher. Wow, he is getting very helpful. But, I felt guilty. 

When I put in dishes later, I noticed all the plates were facing in one direction. This way, the water stream hit the backs of half of them. So, I started changing half of them, the ones to the right, placing them backing the sides of the dishwasher where they were facing toward a side. He came by as I was doing this and I showed him how it should be done and why. PLUS, the instructions said explicitly to place all dishes facing toward the center of the dishwasher. "So the water from the center hits all dirty surfaces." I kept changing them until they were right and not trying to get him to fix them. 

He put the plates in again on Saturday and said he got them all facing in the right direction, just like I showed him. I was shocked. Picture this.  The plates were paired facing each other. Two by two. Of course, with the edges of the plates being curved, this configuration practically assured that no water of any amount or force would hit the dirty side of any of the plates. 

I was laughing inside and called him to come and let me show him something. Then, he swore up and down that he did it exactly as I showed him. He said he watched me. Well, obviously he watched and did not see. After a few loud words from both sides, I knew he was just too defensive to listen. Still, he brings it up that I showed him a different way. 

It was cute what he did. Funny! But, I did not laugh or scoff. He is so defensive and has never done anything wrong. EVER. He has never said anything like "sorry" or "I did not know" or "I misunderstood." His answers--"I have done it that way since I was 10." or "All my relatives did it that way" or "everybody I know does it that way" or "that is exactly the way YOU told me to do it." 

When I went to sleep at 7 am on Saturday morning, I awoke at 1:30 and felt awful most of the day. However, I was sleepy early Saturday night and went to bed about 2 am. I realized I have not slept well when I don't wear my new pocket nightgown. When it was wet and hanging to dry, I did not. It has been hard to sleep when the blankets keep sliding off my shoulders. Hopefully, sleep won't be too hard from now on with my shoulders warm and the rest of my body. Of course, I love the length, but it could be six inches longer.

These nightgowns are going to be my day dresses. I hate pants all day! Yes, they will be nightgowns, too.

It has been over 24 hours since I last saw my phone! I take it to bed every night, put it on the nightstand until morning. On the way to bed I sometimes put it on the counter in the kitchen or on bathroom vanity. Often, when I get up in the morning, I find it where I put it on the way to bed. We have looked everywhere. Of course, it is off so I cannot just call my phone. Okay, I found it. I had carried a clothes basket with the new sheets and other things to the bedroom with my phone on top. The basket was beyond my bed, and with no light in the ceiling, I could barely see it. Okay, a day without even using my phone is rare. And, no one called me. 

We were watching Gunsmoke one day when Tommy exclaimed that they all had blue eyes. Five scoundrels were onscreen. I think it is 6% of the people on earth have blue eyes and 100% of the cast of Gunsmoke screen had blue eyes. Tommy commented that Hollywood sure loves blue eyes. Of course, Matt, and Kitty both have blue eyes. 

At 9:30 Sunday night, Tommy went into the kitchen for us. I told him if he would gather everything, I would make a pumpkin pie. So, he is there searching for the spices, cans, and eggs. I could have gone in and stood while he got things out. This will make things so much easier on my back. I even had him get out the right measuring cups and measuring spoons. So, I need to get out the mixer and a bowl. Good deal! I think I can get a pie into the oven without spilling it more easily than he can. I will start at 10:30 after the news. So, I suppose pumpkin pie will happen at midnight.

Okay, the pumpkin pie will be out at 12:15. Actually, it is two pumpkin pies. So, one for each of us. I am a pig when it comes to pumpkin pie. Mama made a pumpkin pie that was about 3/4 inch thick or whatever goes into a regular bought pie pan, not deep dish. I certainly hope it doesn't taste bad. 

I knew I had a can of Pet Milk, but it had a date of Jan 2022, so I had him take the top completely off. It seemed clabbered. The new can was smooth and no clots. 

Pumpkin is my favorite pie of those I make. And, I don't even want one if I did not make it.

Sunday This and That

 Rats! I forgot about the Budweiser Clydesdales in four or five different places right near me this last week! I am disappointed. I remembered in time to go to Cullman, but I have something hard to do on Monday, so I let it go. 

Saturday night, I slept about 7 hours and was ready for a looong nap four hours later. Maybe I can just sleep through the winter, hibernate. Actually, a lymph node is swollen on the side of my neck. So, I will struggle to stay well.

Tommy usually disappears into the kitchen at night. Sometimes, I cannot hear him. Other times, I hear little noises. If I go in there, he may be giving himself his night shot of insulin. I don't like to go in when he is giving himself insulin because I might bump him as he turns loose his walker and stands with both hands on the needle. So, I just sit. 

Saturday night, he was in there forever and making little noises and then long stretches of silence. Finally, during the little noises, I went in. He was sorting dishes in the sink. He told me he put all the plates in the dishwasher and all the utensils! Glory be! The man is almost tame. I felt bad he did all that. Then, later, he showed me that largest of the plates we have and asked could he mix the sizes. Well, of course. But, I pointed out that putting all the same diameters together would eventually leave a bit more room in the dishwasher. I was nearer the dishwasher, so I told him I would just put it in and not to rearrange. 

When we got the dishwasher, he did not know the baskets for the utensils would come out of the dishwasher. When he figured that out, he started removing the basket and taking it to the drawer to put them in their little nooks. Will miracles never end?

Slowly, we are figuring out more items to recycle. It occurred to me that the paper recycling could hold receipts and torn up notes we have written. Now, I need to find out where to recycle other items--dark plastic med containers from prescriptions, glass dark glass med bottles, labels that have sticky on the back, etc. 

Composting is something I need to figure out, too. For twenty or so years, I threw apple cores and such into a hole in the edge of my yard. I suppose I only drew critters. No, the raccoons only came for my chickens. But, nothing went into the landfill. Then, I built a compost pile inside a cage of building blocks. Finally, the chickens arrived, and they took care of kitchen scraps. Now, I cannot get into the backyard. So, I am stuck throwing kitchen scraps into the trash. I don't know anyone here who gardens, or I would offer scraps. So, I think about this lots. 

My red Kiss is sitting on a table nearby and is very handy for keeping coins. 

The low was predicted to be 30F last night and the same for tonight. It is past time to bring in the hummingbird feeders. So, no flowers, no hummingbirds here, just as well since we cannot leave the door open. I am against cold weather. 

Sunday night, we took a quick drive to see what was already up for Christmas decorations. There was a Thanksgiving decoration-one white, huge, turkey--inflatable, and lit. 

The Christmas movie classics are back, so that is a good thing for me. I love those.

This and That

For Mother's Day I received a box of candy and a dozen yellow roses. I love yellow roses and pink roses. Red roses do nothing for me. When I was about eleven-years-old until I was eighteen-years-old, we lived in a house with a pump house covered in yellow roses. The pump house was not a short one, but tall enough an adult could stand easily in it. So, there were lots of roses. I was confused when I saw a short pump house. I don't think we had well water there. 

Tommy ordered me a DNA test for a gift, just what I wanted. I am really looking forward to getting the results from the spit I send them. 

Monday, I felt so awful, just exhausted, so I made slaw and heated up meatballs and carrots. It was actually really delicious. For lunch, we each had our leftover bbq from Sam's BBQ. 

Next week, I will be getting a blood test for covid antibodies. The doctor is all for this. Have you had one? 

My dishwasher is still not repaired. I am so sick of washing dishes because I cannot do them all at once. Yes, I miss a day or two now and then. Calling about that again is my top priority.

About the magazine IN STYLE--I have received this for a year, from where I knew not, and have enjoyed it and passed it on to someone else. I finally figured out why I received it when I received an offer with the last copy. It seems that this magazine can be sent to someone else if I buy a subscription for myself. Sooo, thanks whoever sent it to me. 

Tinnitus has not returned, thankfully. That was the most bizarre and disconcerting thing I have ever experienced. But, I still feel unwell and weak. But, I am grateful not to be waylaid by noise.  Still, I need to know what to do if it ever happens again. 

My to-do for today is cooking several packages of chicken and a ground pork. Plus, I have one little cleaning project. If the little cleaning project is successful, it will turn into a huge cleaning project.

Grocery Shopping, Gas Prices, Nothing Happening

 This week, I spent $22 for groceries.

This will be it for April. The milk was $10 for 3 half gallons. So, on Tuesday, the last day of the ad, I will buy at least 3 more, maybe six, probably six.  Nothing was for stock up, just things we will eat the next week. 

Tommy bought a full tank of gas in Cullman for $2.38/gal. instead of paying $2.47/gal. here. He keeps an eye on gas prices.  So far, gas is cheaper there for the last two months or so. 

Last year, I found some marked down hair color in my brand. I bought several colors that were nearly the same as the shade I buy. This week, I tried one of the different colors, still dark brown, and I think I have found my new favorite color! And, I saved several dollars. 

Everyday, we hear or see the doves at Tommy's house.  They make us happy. We believe they have a nest in the tree next to the house instead of over the drain from the gutters, like last year. It would be nice to see a baby dove flying around. Have you ever seen a baby dove?  

Today, Thursday, I made a list and successfully completed all on the list. Well, one thing was not done, but it is on the list for tomorrow. I was not feeling like doing that one thing. The rest were calls I needed to make. If I don't make a list of phone calls, I forget what I need to do. I love a list. 

So, I have my Friday phone calls ready to go. Okay, now, Friday, I have made three calls. Two were successful, one, not so much. Now, I need to start on a new list. Of course, phone calls will be for Monday. But, there are things that need to be accomplished this weekend. 

We see a sign for a "Food Truck Corner" and wonder what is going on. And, I want to check out a church yard sale.  We may not eat at the food trucks and we may not even stop at the yard sale. Luckily, both are very near each other. 

We are back to hand-washing dishes! Tommy helps but at some point, he says his back hurts. I was ready to stop anyway. 

Today, as I dressed to go out for a bit, I decided to wear my floral outfit. As I got in the car and looked down, I had on the nice floral pants and a grungy, floral top that I wear when I will never leave the yard. Aaagh! Thankfully, Tommy had not even started the car. So, I changed. Is this old age? lol Yesterday, I wore panties inside out.  

For three days I have managed two minutes of my "marching exercise." And, I have new exercises. 

The Thermometer and Cravings

 While it is still below freezing, the temperature Wednesday should rise above freezing later this afternoon. I have not stuck my nose out of the house since Sunday. No thanks. Tommy lets in a lot of air and leaves the door open every time he goes to washing machine or to the mailbox. But, it is my choice for the door to be open as I wish to hear him if he falls and yells for me. This is my choice in the summer, too. 

Wednesday morning, all seven of my tulips have bloomed, but some not fully. They are red but appear to be a deep pink, almost red. I would rather have pink, anyway. I brought them home on 2/14 and they are all bloomed on 2/17. It is fun to watch them. 

Like I have said, there are no windows to place things to get sun. So, these have been sitting under/beside an incandescent bulb in a lamp. Obviously, this works for blooms. I wonder if seeds would germinate. 

I am going to try to make a better pizza crust tonight. I will read the directions on the pizza crust mix....lol. We need to use the open container of Prego Pizza Sauce. Tonight, we will have meatballs, bell pepper, and onions on top along with the sauce and cheese. I may let Tommy cut the meatballs into small pieces if I don't want to cut them. 

Even though it was bitterly cold last night, the temperature in the house was uniform and warm. Of course, the bedroom I sleep in is always colder except in the summer when it is torrid. 

I said I had used all the dishes. No, four of the glass dishes that I use in the oven were still in the dishwasher. I just could not see them in the dark! The tongs that Tommy said were not in the dishwasher were in there, hiding in the dark. When I ask Tommy to get something from dishwasher or off a shelf, he sees how difficult it is to function in the dark since he needs to get a strong flashlight and still cannot find things.

Amazon brought my pedal exerciser today. I finally got it put together as there were minimal instructions or pictures. This item weighs only 8 pounds, so it is infinitely easier to handle as opposed to the 28 pound elliptical. 

After finishing this post, I tried my new pedal exerciser. The motion of the pedal does not hurt my knee like the elliptical. Within one minute I knew two things. The pedaler works. Doing it without shoes hurts my foot.   So, I need to wear shoes when using it. The elliptical had a flat pad where the foot sat. This cost $110 less than the elliptical.                                                                                                  

Another package was reported by email to have been left in the mailbox. But, it was not there, so the two assistive devices are being sent again. I suppose someone stole it. 

I finished loading the dishwasher in record time and with an enormous number of large and heavy items. While it hurt my back to load it and took forever with my breaks, I still hurt less than I would have. I am also dry. Washing dishes with my elbows on the edge of the sink/counter left me soaked. 

Hopefully, everyone is warm and safe, forgoing using generators inside or any other heating means that can kill with carbon monoxide or flames. Three days without heat, electricity, or water in subzero weather is a terrible burden and danger. 

I am glad we are having pizza since we are watching a documentary on pizza in America. 

I am craving two things: chocolate anything and chicken. What am I going to do about it. First, I am making brownies. As for the chicken, I may thaw one of the pieces of breast. In the meantime, a 6 lb. package of chicken thighs is thawing so I can cook that for Tommy while I eat the breast.

This and That on Friday

 It is cold and rainy, much better than many parts of the country. But, I don't have to like it. However, last night, Thursday night, we needed the ac for the overpowering heat and stifling condition. The cold and rain will last a bit longer, and it appears our trip to Cullman will be toward the end of the week. 

I returned the elliptical and found I was losing about $26 on the return. And, the guy showed up today to pick it up! Of course, we were not here. 

When I called Amazon to figure out why I did not get all my money, it was because I chose "I did not need it" when I should have chosen that it was "Not what I expected" which is true. So, now I get the whole price returned to me. And, now I have another pickup date for early Monday morning. 

Whew! 

We are very slowly throwing things out of the house that have been here for decades. At first, he refused to get rid of anything. 

When I was putting something in the freezer, a tiny bag slid into sight. It was a portion of cooked pork loin from December that I had saved for another day. I just love having cooked meat and can add vegetables for a meal. 

About 3 pm as we came home, the chic-fil-A truck was parked near the taco truck in a church parking lot. We had a sandwich and that is the last one I will get there. The chicken was no longer crispy and mine had two pickles. gag. And, it was too expensive.

Tonight, we had a spinach salad in a bag. We divided it--baby spinach, raisins, bacon, almonds, and sweet onion dressing. The spinach/carrot/cabbage salad had five shreds of carrot and maybe six of cabbage. LOL Tommy had a small potato from the oven last night and a bit of chicken. I had just a bit of spinach and a bit of chicken. 

I love raw spinach, but I had to take off the stems, so it was slow going. 

I love the miracle of a dishwasher! We are actually using real dishes. However, we are still using plastic utensils and plastic to drink. We will get there.

Thread and a Bird

 Wednesday, everything Tommy has left for years in the sink was put in the dishwasher. He even had plastic carryout items in the sink. The huge stack between the stove and refrigerator was dish items he stored in the refrigerator. He sorted and I put them in the dishwasher. Tomorrow, he is going to clean the sink since standing and bending at the angle needed really hurts my back. I will tell him tomorrow. 

Some of the items were mine! When I came here, he yelled that they were his. No, there is a dish from my Corelle and several Tupperware dishes. He has calmed down this last year and accepts they are mine. Remember, I sent food home with every week for about 12 years. 

Also, there is a bunch of trash and a box we are going to move so I can vacuum the carpet, just a little area. I can only vacuum the carpet I can uncover. The box and contents are headed to the trash, too. 

So, those are two goals tomorrow: clean sink and counter and move tiny, nasty box and vacuum the bit of floor where it looks like a disintegrated box or something.

I bought the canned chicken bogo and opened one can to see if was something we would eat in the future. We opened it, tasted it and stored it. So, it was time to eat it. After I decided it was good, I went back and bought four more cans, of course, only paying for two. 

Friday, I have been exhausted! Not much has been done, but the emptying of the dishwasher and vacuuming a tiny space and throwing out a box is still on the list.

Tuesday and Wednesday had not a cloud in the sky. Friday, gloomy and no sun all day. Maybe this is why I have been so tired. I slept 1.5 hours in the car listening to bird calls. 

My black thread for the serger arrived Friday. The day I was going to call and complain mightily, a representative called and asked me, "Do you still want the black thread you ordered?"  "Of course, I do!" So, it is here. Happy dance!

A friend invited us to eat with them next Thursday in Cullman and outdoors. That will be something to look forward to for next week! I will make a pattern from a bird she has outdoors so I can make some birds for us. I am excited to finish the pattern and get on to crafting the bird. I do intend to find free wood to make it. Only a can of spray paint will be needed for this project. YAY!

Synching, Saving, ETC UPDATE UPDATE

 Walgreen's offered the chance to synch my medications, making all of them due for refill on the same day. This will save many trips to the pharmacy. Sometimes, we sit for 30 minutes to get one prescription. At that same time, I am denied the opportunity to pick up a refill on a different medication until the next day. That is so discouraging. 

Just now, I received a call, saying the name of med and asking if I wanted a refill tomorrow. This is an upgrade from the mysterious calls saying a have an unnamed prescription and to please call. I let them know my displeasure when I get a call and then they do not know what to refill. !!!

Going inside does not shorten the wait! Nothing helps, so you have to go with the flow. This opportunity at Walgreen's will provide relief. Does your pharmacy offer this service?

Going into the thrift store looking for an ottoman cost me. My back has been hurting ever since that foray. Well, it got better Sunday. 

Using the elliptical pedaler has helped my feet not to be so swollen. Getting an adequate amount of sleep has helped, too. 

It is Monday morning. The plumber was to be here at 9 am to fix plumbing to install the dishwasher and finish the installation. It is now 10:20 and he will "be here soon." This is making me nuts.

Dishwasher installed and cost $389! I am horrified at the cost.

A Sunday Delivery Surprise

 From Target a package was delivered to me today. It is a cable knit, garnet color. The main part was not delivered today. I will surprise you with the larger part of the gift to arrive later this week. Both were certainly a pleasant surprise to me. 

Sunday, I wanted to get up at 8 am. Surprise? There was a documentary titled "Radioactive Pigs from Fukushima"  at 8:30 am. I was eager, awoke, came in, and watched. Around 9:30, I went back to bed and slept soundly until 3:30. When I awoke, my feet were barely swollen. Hmmm? 

We went for a drive and got the last of our freebies from the coupon book from Burger King since the coupons expired today. We went to the park and ate while kids played and adults walked. 

I wanted to drive around more, so we went to a neighborhood where I had never been. When we were ready to go home, we passed Uncle Sam's BBQ. It is always packed. Now that they don't have eating indoors, the lines are so long. We have both been commenting that we needed to get a meal some day. Well, I pushed for take out today. There is a line for cars and a walkup line. We sat in the car for one hour.

Tommy said we should get one plate and share since there was such a huge portion. When he worked, he would get a plate and save half for the next night. So, we did get one plate--bbq, slaw, baked beans, fries, sauce on the side. He got the top of the bun. I gave him all but about ten beans, half the slaw, half the meat, and 3/4 of the fries. We still have fries in the refrigerator. It was delicious.  We both ate plenty from one plate, $9.99 before tax. We are satisfied and feel no need to eat anything else tonight, except for fruit. 

In March we plan to go to Bob Sykes BBQ. I could go next week, but we try not to eat out too many nights. Of course, if I don't feel well or am just not going to cook for whatever reason, we have no problem picking up a pizza or a dinner. 

The weather was 70F today and 57F at 7 pm. I love this weather until storms and possible tornadoes come from the warm weather. Last night, tonight's forecast included snow just a bit north of us. Strange. There is a cold wind that belies the warm weather. 

The plumber is coming on Monday morning to install the right fittings for this dishwasher. He asked if he was going to install it, too. That worries me. I predict this installation will cost another $300 dollars at plumber's rates. I worry. Remember, we paid for this once. And, I am not sure if we get the installation back from the delivery people--$90.

Car trouble, Interruptions, Waiting

 The plumber was scheduled to come at 9:30 to fix the plumbing to accept this new dishwasher and have dishwasher installed. When I woke at about 5:30, I could not go back to sleep, so at 7 am, I got up. Waiting wore me out. I was so anxious that he would not come, that it would cost a thousand dollars to get this done. 

Before I go on, I went to bed before midnight. Usually, I power through to finish what is on TV and watch another favorite show. Well, Thursday night, I said to Tommy, let's go to bed. That involves him turning off TV and his lamp. I go to bed in bedroom. We did. I went to sleep almost immediately. If I had not had the 9:30 am appointment on my mind, I could have gone back to sleep. Maybe not. 

At any rate, the plumber called about 9:15 and said he had truck trouble and was just now going to his first appointment. I could scream. We had something to do this afternoon that we do not want to miss. If he gets here at 11 am, we cannot go. Well, I do not want to miss it and do not want to hurry the plumber. This is at least a 2 hour job! 

So, here I sit, no dishwasher, dirty dishes, dirty floor in kitchen from trash made yesterday. I am frustrated! 

On top of that, it is only 38F right now. I do not like it to be this cold when I must be out. Okay, I am a whiny baby. I wish it were 95F right now. Okay, 75F would be nice. 

I have a small project right now. I bought pads last summer and spring that I do not like because I could not find ones I do like. I have about a dozen packages. I am going to sell them for 1/2 what I paid for them in order to get rid of them, get some of my money back, and get what I need/like. Tommy needs to come to door of the room to take them on his walker, so I can start the process of notating what I have and get it to woman who is interested. I will use my "extra" time, freed up by a no-show. 

Even going to bed early only earns me about 6 hours of sleep. I rarely take a nap since I started taking my levothyroxin first thing in the morning. But, it is a habit that is probably good for me...lol. 

I will quit rambling on and go accomplish something, anything. 

Are you frustrated much by delays that screw up plans for the rest of the day and pushes other things/plans around?

Thinking of Gardening and New Dishwasher

I had to explain this to Tommy. His answer was 1...LOL. He has never been around glitter. 

There is no sense putting pots of anything on the porch. If I missed one day watering or was a few hours late, the extreme heat from the afternoon sun in front of the brick house was not good for the plants. Then, a few that were always watered well, died. I am thinking of getting someone to get the four boxes to the little area where the walk/ramp curves from the drive to porch. 

But, there is a problem I don't know how to solve. Something was getting on the porch and eating tomatoes, squash, and other things. I doubt it was a cat, maybe a rat though I have never seen or heard of a rat around here. Do I get a camera to set up and catch things, put out traps, sticky traps? 

Since I thought about gardening, I suppose I should get all the old plants from the pots the next warm day. Tommy will have to help me. 

That led me to wondering about seeds. I doubt I will have to worry about not enough seeds since I planted none last year! I hear it will be hard to get seeds this year. The one thing I will plant from seed and pamper are the seeds for Wave Petunias. I will plant several pots to ensure I will have more if the ones on the porch die in the sun. 

So, no matter what I do, I want to ensure I have tomatoes, squash, and zucchini that can grow without being eaten by an animal. Well, something with teeth. What advice do you have? 

Dishwasher was delivered about 9:30 am. At 11:00 am, the guys left it half stuck into the hole for it. NOW, we have to get a plumber. I paid for installation at time of purchase. I was counting on using the dishwasher this afternoon. Boo hoo! It seems this was put in the house in 1970s and fittings don't fit for water or drain. 

Okay, the plumber will be here in the morning.
