He Makes Me Laugh and New Normal

This morning I saw Tommy put a mustard and a catsup bottle on his walker seat. Then, he headed to the kitchen. Later, I saw the catsup bottle in the bag under his walker seat. I asked him why. He said, "It's my catsup." I asked again. He said he got it out and took it to the kitchen to put on a hotdog, and now he was putting it up. He pointed to an area beside his chair.  I was laughing on the inside, but I said, "Oh."

He uses the cheapest mustard ever. Same with catsup. I don't, but I rarely ever use either. But, I store both in the refrigerator, not beside my chair.

Since store ads are not delivered to the door, I have to use the internet. Looking at grocery ads should be done with a paper ad. Period. Sometimes, the pictures and words are too small to read. I know how to make it all larger and readable. But, I hate it. I hate all the clicking to see the next page. So, we have a new normal for ads. We drive to the store, pick them up on Wednesday. Then, we go home and read and mark and make a list. Oftentimes, I do carry the ad back with me as I shop.

So, we did the ads pickup on Wednesday. The best sale was the Kraft Chunk Cheddar at the Pig. The list is made. Publix and the Pig are close. There is another store I do like, but I have to be able to walk into the store to get a cart, and I cannot drive it to the car. It is a pain, but I will go in there for a good cherry picking.

Wednesday, Tommy went in and bought what we wanted, got the free item, Kraft Dressing. We arrived at the store where I told him he would have to use my phone for the ad to be valid. Well, I forgot my purse at home! He said we would just go home and get it. Usually, he would be annoyed, but he wanted to good price on Pepsi, so he went into the house and retrieved my purse. I turned it on and handed him the phone before he went inside, telling him to just hand it to the cashier, and if they insisted he find it, to tell them he did not know how. Well, that is the truth.

He came out and it all worked for him. I felt too awful to go inside myself. For two days, I am always on the verge of throwing up, so will not take the chance of going inside. Besides, I am weak otherwise. Consequently, I eat little and can tell I am losing weight. Zofran is on the way.

He not only chopped and cooked the ground beef, he drained it immediately like I told him I do. And, he disposed of the grease in a cereal liner bag with paper in it. He learns well, especially since he spent almost two thousand dollars getting the lines unclogged twice last year. We are having spaghetti and salad tonight.

Do you store catsup/ketchup and mustard inside the refrigerator, on the shelf or beside your chair? lol

Do you prefer paper ads or digital?

I Tried Watermelon and Mustard

Today, I was using Gorilla Glue Ultimate. Now, my eye is burning from glue in my eye. At first, my eyelids were sticking together. Now, It just burns and waters. I had gotten glue on my finger and wiped it off. I really thought all the glue was off my finger! I checked my other fingers and there was a thin film on many of them!

I may have Tommy take me to the eye emergency room.

Amazon is late with something for Tommy! Grrr! Well, it is not personal so I will enjoy it, too.

Finally, I remembered to buy watermelon to taste mustard and watermelon. Really, it is good! I won't be eating this all the time. But, it is not horrible at all. I thought Tommy was going to try it, but he refused. sigh Try it and let me know what you think. Okay?

I was all set to only have Tommy wash the clothes once a week by buying more panties and putting more dish towels in rotation. So, Thursday would have been a week since laundry. But, rain kept me from even asking him. Today, Sunday, he washed my clothes. I still had plenty, but it is going to rain for the next three days, I think.

Instead of washing clothes seven times a month, at this rate the clothes will be washed three times each month. So, that is less water and less times the washing machine runs. I think that counts for a win.

Today, I took my car to wash it, but the car wash was closed tight. I don't know if it was because it was Father's Day or because it was Sunday or too late. I am grateful my tires did not get a flat spot from sitting so long. I would have hated the loss of tire rubber.

My father is dead and Tommy has no children, so there was not much happening in this house today.

The bunnies in our yard and the birds at the park have kept us entertained.  Speaking of our yard, I did not know what plants had been given to me since they were not labeled. I thought they looked like Brussel's Sprouts, but dismissed the idea. Well, today I confirmed that since I have dozens of tiny sprouts. But, they are all hollow, just little round shells of sprouts. Bummer. Hopefully, I can revive them.

Do you grow Brussel's sprouts? Do you think I can pull off all the tiny dud sprouts and get more?

MAYOMUST

Running out of salad dressing for salads is not something I really worry about. But, I did pass by a bogo and did not even think about buying it. Bottled dressing is not enough to worry about these days.

However, when I saw a bottle of salad dressing, his favorite, Italian dressing, I realized my favorite, Ranch and his Italian were almost gone. I would just use Miracle Whip on mine. Last year, I bought a new product that we had not used--Heinz MAYOMUST saucy sauce. Yes, it is a mixture of mayo and mustard. It was reduced.

When I mentioned we were both almost out of our favorite salad dressing, he said he could use mayonnaise or even mustard. Mustard on a salad??? He assured me he would like it, so I remembered the Heinz MAYOMUST.

Have you ever tasted this? Do you like it? Since I like Miracle Whip and Mustard on hotdogs and in cole slaw, I might be able to use this on either. However, it has the feel of mayo on my tongue, so I probably will not use this often. However, I will not buy more bottles of dressings unless I find them at less than retail price.

Monday night, I seemed to sleep well. I awoke before 7 am on Tuesday,  just lay there until about 9 am. Monday night before, he was setting his clock to watch sci-fi movies at 6:15 am Tuesday. I just lay there to avoid them...lol. Finally, at 10 am, the last one was over. I did watch the last 15 minutes of THE THING. ugh

I did nothing except read blogs and finally eat lunch. About 1 pm I was exhausted. My nap lasted until 5:30. I was shocked. This is allergy season, so I am exhausted, sneeze, and cough. I can even have an elevated temp. Anyone around me would think I have Covid19. I don't but can imagine being chased from the grocery, with rolls of tp thrown at me like I was a pariah.

Dinner on Wednesday night will be redone leftovers. Since there was lots of "soup" liquids left with some meat, few beans, and little kale, and no carrots, I am remaking it. I am putting in almost as much kale as was in the original batch. I will add more of the ham to Tommy's part. I have two wedges of potato left from another meal. One wedge will go in Tommy's beans and I will eat the other. I think I fished out all the carrots. So, in order to keep from boiling the soup for a long time, I will either leave out more carrots or boil them separately and add them to the soup.

I just do not want more of that ham...yuck. I think slices of ham were trimmed or the trimming from a whole ham was sliced into strips. It's just too fatty for my mouth feel, taste, or health.

Gotta go, getting ready for 7-9 pm Modern Family!

Tried MAYOMUST?

One of the first things I saw, hand sewing, and other mustard

When I got here or maybe the next morning, one of the first things I saw was a reddish/pinkish measuring tape. I exclaimed that it was mine. Then, I asked Tommy where he got it. Then, I saw the tiny fuses that are used in small strings of Christmas lights and asked him if they were his. He said he had no idea where they came from, but they were not his. He said they might have been in something I sent home with home with him.

That made sense. I often grab a tote bag and put things in the bag for him to take home. But, how could he not suppose I might not be looking for the measuring tape? I had searched high and low, finding my other one instead. There is no telling what I will come across that is mine. I would never expect him of stealing anything.

Tonight, I am making me a bra with scissors that grind up the material. He has old thread and needles. We will see. This will be sewn with a needle and thread!

Okay, what is your favorite brown mustard? I doubt I will ever buy any more mustards since I eat so little that it just dries up or separates. Grey Poupon, anyone?

Best Yellow Mustard

Mustard later.

Today, I went home and picked up my mail at the PO. KFC sent me my birthday card that was good for a meal. I got Tommy a chicken pot pie. We had the senior tea. I reminded him the pot pie had 1970 mg of sodium. He got loud and nasty and said he did not care. So lunch cost little.

About six weeks ago, I got a Dominos pizza and they left the garlic oil off the crust, even after I reminded them. So, today, I went by and complained and told them to check how many times the gariic oil had bee left off my pizza and I had complained. I brought a large mushroom and sausage pizza home for dinner. Okay, I ate some on the way home. We will have to not eat anything else tonight except for some fruit.

Nothing else was stolen at my house in the last week. I found in the middle of where the house was one tiny yellow baby shoe, apparently all that is left from my younger daughter's baby clothes. I brought it with me. The sight was like a knife through my heart. She had a yellow dress and yellow shoes and a pink dress and pink shoes. All had lace and ruffles, even the shoes. She was such a doll.

I went to agencies, the bank, ATT, and other places. We got home and left after I put the pizza in the refrigerator. I need to document things, so I bought a cheap camera. My Android was stolen and the Kodak is probably in the dump.

Tomorrow, I tackle the silverfish closet, the one assigned to me in his bedroom. He is going to tackle the tub which always has two inches of water, at least, in the bottom. I refuse to get into it. He should not. The reason I know he has silverfish is that he brought his kilt to show me after I begged him to do so. 1/4 of it was eaten by silverfish. I have poison!

I f0und two pair of black pants. One pair at Belk's was $60 and marked down to $19, still too rich for my blood. The other was $17 at a cheap store and not on sale.

At the end of the day at the store, I remembered I needed mustard. I like French's yellow mustard as well as other types. So does Tommy. I eat so little mustard of any type that it does not pay to have a variety. Right now, I started with the absolutely smallest size of French's. Tommy volunteered to get it for me. Then, he got an off-brand and the largest size. When I questioned him, he said I was picky and he did not care the brand.

Yellow Mustard Question.

This question is about yellow mustard only--what is your favorite brand of yellow mustard? Or, do you eat any brand of yellow mustard? I know some of you prefer other types of mustards. But, this game is for those who eat yellow mustard. Tomorrow, you will get your say.

Tommy died

I am distraught! He died at 12:15 am on 3-14.
