Thursday Happenings--not much

I have felt a bit better tonight. I only had about 3 hours sleep last night and then 2 this afternoon.

The Conchita pimientos will not get my seal of approval. It is bitter and nasty. I think being in a can is why it is bitter. However, once in pimiento and cheese, it was better, tolerable. Miracle Whip saved the taste.

Today, I had a can of Diet Free Decaffeinated Coke that had been the house two days and in the refrierator for two days. It was flat. I had Tommy taste it and he declared it flat, too. This happens once in a while, not sure how a sealed can of Coke can be flat after being open for thirty seconds.

Tommy improved the kitchen. The drawer for utensils has an holder that slides back into the drawer continually. I am not going to buy the liner to keep it where it belongs. So, I asked him to take on of the Planter's Peanut jars, tall and skinny, and place it at the back of the drawer. It works really well. So, I no longer have to keep pulling the drawer further out to get the utensil I want. I am so happy.

Since I have been decluttering the counter between the sink and microwave. I took out two cups from the back near the microwave. My favorite hot chocolate cup had the handle broken in two pieces and in the cup. Did I forget about this? How did it get broken? Did Tommy do it? Who knows? But, it went straight into the trash. The other cup was a dish to eat soup, wide and with a handle. It is in the dishwasher. I have no idea why these were on the counter. But, they are not now. How is that for decluttering?!

Kraft Medium Cheddar Cheese Chunks were $1.80 + 10% at the Pig. So, I had Tommy go in and get two, making it $1.98 each. He came back and said that there were only 6 on the shelf, so he got all six. Why? He was already complaining that we have too much cheese. Well, we have plenty now.

We went to Publix for his milk, my milk, bananas, and bread.

In a few minutes, I will start freezing two slices of bread at a time, placing them in a freezer bag for the freezer. I did this years ago. Someone reminded me of this, so I will do this so as not to have bread get moldy.

Dinner: Tommy had chicken thigh, salad, corn. I had last two hotdogs, salad, green beans.

Did you ever keep something broken for no reason and discover it later?

Does your utensil tray slide around in the drawer, making it difficult to reach a spoon?

Boring Day in Retelling and Dreamworld Coke

Good news! My friend received her $3,000 bonus she was depending on. This is the main reason she has not made waves at her daycare job. Yes, she is afraid she is the troublemaker here.

We tackled the list again today. There was still no a2milk 2%, so I bought four half-gallons of my milk and a gallon jug of his.

Several days ago I saw a cryptogram book and decided we should try those for brain exercise. Well, no way was I going to exhaust my brain trying to figure these. Tommy took it willingly and decided he did not want to try those either! So, I took that back to Publix.

While in Publix, I bought the toothpaste I needed. When I got home, I had bought a tube of Colgate. I am fit to be tied.

The SAS shoes went back. If the wider pair are not okay, I will just get another pair of sandals. That was an arduous trip.

Sunday night, I did not sleep one minute. When I awoke, I took my pill for my stomach and then immediately started eating. Well, my stomach hurt when I went to bed, so that caused me not to sleep.  We left for chores with my stomach and chest burning, feeling like throwing up. So, a trip to the drugstore for something to drink for my stomach pain was necessary.

We drove around and purloined a pink bag of grocery ads. There is lots on sale but not much we need or want this next week. Some houses have multiple bags out, left there for weeks, so we try to go to those since they never pick them up to use or even to throw away.

We spent from 1 pm until about 4 pm out of the house. I was exhausted and slept from 5 pm until 7:20. I only had chicken breast, one Lindt truffle, and applesauce. Tommy can get chicken and whatever for himself since he can decide. No, I will maybe eat a vegetable!

Unfortunately, on Tuesday, we will go out to finish the list. I have things from a store to return. Plus, I will probably get two more half-gallons of a2milk. I am quite sure the date on the milk will be sometime in December. The four I bought have a date of 11-27-22.

After buying milk and making the one return, all our chores are in the house, thankfully.

It is supposed to have a frost or freeze and I am not sure if geraniums and chrysanthemums will make it uncovered. I suppose the pansies will survive. Now that the weather is not so hot, the geraniums are putting out blooms. I certainly want to keep those around!

A church member who was around helping with the youth when he was young, has died. She was in her 90s. I had a box of sympathy cards ready for him to choose one. These are made in the USA and cost around 50 cents each. He was astounded at the price of a box of cards when a neighbor died. After all, he only needed one card.  Now, he is happy to just pick a card out of a box and not have to go buy a card.

We always try the new Coke flavor. The newest is Dreamworld. I gagged. Tommy said it tasted like Coke and Grapico and drank it.

Tuesday, I will bake the chicken and vegetables. I do need to find the ghosts to hang in the tree.

We like drama-free days!

Tommy is watching Quantum Leam. I loved this show when Scott Bakula starred. Now, it is just boring. Do you like this drama? Did you prefer it with Bakula?

Have you tried Dreamworld Coke? Did you like it?

Has first frost come early where you live?

Starlight Coca Cola

Limited Edition

I had heard about this new Coca Cola flavor. It is supposed to taste like space. NOT! I have tasted space and this is all wrong.

Usually, when a new flavor comes out, it is not sold as a single. I found this 20 oz. bottle staring at me from an end cap. I brought it home after it jumped in the electric cart. Being from space, it had never seen an electric cart. Besides, it wanted to cuddle with the Beanie Babies I was adopting.

I finally put Starlight in the refrigerator and today we tasted it. It was gross. Tommy liked it and drank the rest. I have never liked any of the other new flavors Coke has brought us. I don't like Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke, Coke Zero. None of them.

I remember when Coke introduced New Coke. It was awful. Pepsi was better, so I switched to Pepsi until Coke came to their senses. Space Flavored is no better than New Coke.

The bottle is pretty.

Have you tasted space in the new Coke Starlight flavor? Did you like any of the other iterations of Coca Cola?

Coca Cola or "bottled poison?" Mexico finds a Covid19 villain in bottled soda

This article is worth reading every word. It is moderately long, so instead of my writing drivel and you reading it, try reading this instead.  We know my beloved Coke does not "cause" Covid19, but the article is interesting on many levels. Interesting?

Okay, I have things to do instead of write.

Pizza from Tortillas, Cokes

Tortillas, cheese--had these. So, I bought a jar of pizza sauce. I browned the tortillas more than I meant to brown them. I used half the jar on two pizzas. The 8 oz of Mozzarella was used, also. So, I only had $2 or less invested in these 4 pizzas.

I had no mushrooms, or black olives for me and no pepperoni for him. He hates mushrooms and black olives and I am allergic to pepperoni. Since we like these, I will prepare for next time. We had two each pizza tortillas.  I can cook some of the roll of sausage I have in the freezer. We missed that because it was not thawed.

We will have these pizzas again. I just don't like the cost of Mozzarella or the pizza sauce. We can use cheddar if necessary, and I should make the pizza sauce. I will freeze the tortillas now.

I have about three bags of oranges. Since I am not supposed to have the fiber, I will have to juice them. I juiced one and definitely need a juicer to do this right. I see the electric juicers and do not want one. I see the little things you hold in one hand and ream into the other hand holding the orange. Nope, don't want it. It would hurt both hands to use it.

What I really want is one of the antique glass ones. They work so well. Three went into the dump! And, I am not paying the cost and shipping  one from ebay.

The juice was delicious!

Coke is not canning Regular Coke Caffeine Free because of the aluminum can shortage. Bummer. I decided the caffeine was making me have a very fast heartbeat. And, then I was given medicine to slow my heartbeat. Bummer on no more Caffeine Free Coke for me. I have one occasionally.

I never worried about the can shortage or suspected anything could happen to my Coke Caffeine Free. No, silly me worried about canned food and olive oil.  I am quite sure the beer companies are getting their share of cans. If bananas are in short supply, I am sunk.

Coke in cans can be substituted for Coke in bottles, but there are no Regular Coke Caffeine Free on the shelves, either.

Another Saturday happy thing--I picked up and paid for two Rada knives I had ordered. I also dropped off donation to a clothes closet. I only had one thing. The other stuff was Tommy's. Yes, donating is a happy thing.

Are you finding things absent that you need or want? Okay, no one needs to tell me I don't need Cokes!

Monday now.
I am finally putting ice trays in Tommy's freezer. I bought four when i came here but maybe it was two because that is all i can find. Tommy's trays were on the floor and filthy. I put them in to soak and he washed them and the box for dumping them. I am going to use my blue trays and he can use the white ones and the box. I do not think he has clean hands, so he can mess around in his own ice.

Finally--ICE! I have missed it.

Do you like lots of ice? Any ice? Have you found your favorite soft drink or beer is not on the shelf?

For a Better Start in life, start Cola Earlier

From The Soda Pop Council of America

I suppose my parents did not care about our development because we rarely got Coke. When we did, we only got half of a 6-ounce bottle.

Why can I not center these pictures I put up???

I was outraged when I read this.

Tommy died

I am distraught! He died at 12:15 am on 3-14.
