I Tried Watermelon and Mustard

Today, I was using Gorilla Glue Ultimate. Now, my eye is burning from glue in my eye. At first, my eyelids were sticking together. Now, It just burns and waters. I had gotten glue on my finger and wiped it off. I really thought all the glue was off my finger! I checked my other fingers and there was a thin film on many of them!

I may have Tommy take me to the eye emergency room.

Amazon is late with something for Tommy! Grrr! Well, it is not personal so I will enjoy it, too.

Finally, I remembered to buy watermelon to taste mustard and watermelon. Really, it is good! I won't be eating this all the time. But, it is not horrible at all. I thought Tommy was going to try it, but he refused. sigh Try it and let me know what you think. Okay?

I was all set to only have Tommy wash the clothes once a week by buying more panties and putting more dish towels in rotation. So, Thursday would have been a week since laundry. But, rain kept me from even asking him. Today, Sunday, he washed my clothes. I still had plenty, but it is going to rain for the next three days, I think.

Instead of washing clothes seven times a month, at this rate the clothes will be washed three times each month. So, that is less water and less times the washing machine runs. I think that counts for a win.

Today, I took my car to wash it, but the car wash was closed tight. I don't know if it was because it was Father's Day or because it was Sunday or too late. I am grateful my tires did not get a flat spot from sitting so long. I would have hated the loss of tire rubber.

My father is dead and Tommy has no children, so there was not much happening in this house today.

The bunnies in our yard and the birds at the park have kept us entertained.  Speaking of our yard, I did not know what plants had been given to me since they were not labeled. I thought they looked like Brussel's Sprouts, but dismissed the idea. Well, today I confirmed that since I have dozens of tiny sprouts. But, they are all hollow, just little round shells of sprouts. Bummer. Hopefully, I can revive them.

Do you grow Brussel's sprouts? Do you think I can pull off all the tiny dud sprouts and get more?

Tuesday Tired! Oops, it's Wednesday

I slept 3.5 hours Tuesday night, got up at 8 am on Wednesday, washed my hair after I took my pill, and then had to wait an hour to eat. I had banana and milk. There is more, but first.

As I was making a chicken sandwich Tuesday for lunch on Wednesday on our trip to Cullman and even more northward to go to a doctor, I asked Tommy if he wanted me to make him a sausage sandwich to eat instead of buying breakfast. He hemmed and hawed. Finally, I asked him for the third or fourth time to tell me because I was having sausage and bun not a bought one.

I was given a bag of huge but thin sausages which are very mild. I like them and they fit on a hamburger bun. He does not like them so much, but he is eating them as they are food. So, we were not buying sausage and biscuits this morning. I asked him if he wanted to just get coffee. "no" AND, he only wanted one slice of bread.

He is weighing after telling me he would weigh maybe every few months, if that. So, he cares. And, he appreciates the scales.

We even ate the sausages at home instead on the road. Oh, he scares me eating and driving, so for about two months, I tell him I want to just eat and relax as we park. It is working to keep me less stressed. He had eaten cereal and milk about 7:30.

We drove straight to the doctor with only a trip to bank and to pay a bill, minor stops. Then, I drank my little six ounce yogurt. We arrived at the doctors and I went in two minutes before my appointment. But, they had a systemwide computer failure and had to call Huntsville in order to check in patients. And, there was something else wrong.

They said, yes, they would call me and I could sit in the car until it was my turn. So, I had to wait an hour and got hungry and ate my sandwich.

After the doctor's appointment and two trips to pick a medical device and a stop for a prescription and two grocery store trips, I was hungry again. Can you believe it. And, then I wanted a Whopper jr. With a coupon, we spent $3.48 and both had a 50 cent drink from the cheap machine.

ugh. tommy wanted to know what the meal between lunch and dinner was called.

Tommy is not eager to help me drill. So, I bought a drill and bits! Out in the country, I bought two plants from the woman starting the CSA. One is cherry tomato and the other is a plant with tiny peppers, not hot, in red, green, and orange.

My eye has been bothering me, just a little place near the inner corner of my eye and on top lid. Well, I have a "tiny sty." And, eyedrops.

The pulse oximeter I wore one night showed my level oxygen dropped to 54. So, I now have a machine that makes oxygen and I have little tubes to stick in my nose. Yay! But, it is my hope I feel better. So, I guess 54 is too low. ???  When awake it is 99--100.

When we got home, I asked Tommy how he would like strawberry shortcake for dinner. He said it sounded okay. I have reneged and told him he could have crackers and cheese and strawberries whole for dinner. He is okay with it. The Whopper jrs had lettuce and tomatoes, so we are good, right?

I found a shiny quarter as I came out of Lowe's!

Father's Day and My Eye

My father has been dead for almost 30 years, so there was no one to celebrate by cards, presents, and presence. So, that was that.

Tommy and I talk every Sunday. It has been a source of frustration for both of us. He goes to church, comes home, heats and eats lunch and then most of the time collapses into a nap. I will call him and catch him eating, or he just walked in, watching something on TV or he is napping.

Finally, I told him to come home, eat, and then call me. So, now there is less stress and frustration for both of us.

On Father's Day, he called me and I asked what the church did for FD. Every man who was a father was invited to the front. My heart broke for Tommy. Each father was given a gift bag with a box or bag of Cracker Jacks, a bag of peanuts, and baseball cards. I determine I would get all that for him. He was the only man in the church left sitting and not down front! He said it turned out okay because there was one bag left and it was given to him.

When I had chickens, I always called him Chickie Daddy. I think he liked that. He was amused.

If my eye had felt better, I could have gone to the nursing home and made the day for some old guy. But, that did not happen, so the thought does not even count.

For almost a week, I have had a problem with my left eye. First, my eye was gooey in the outer corner, sort of like my eye was dry. Then, it became inflamed, very sore, and unbearable. The irritation went outside of the eyelids and onto the skin outside my eye. Or, maybe it was outside my eye the whole time.

Finally, today, I went to the same eye doctor I visited when I had an eyelash growing under the eyelid. This new thing is like a little infected volcano. She mentioned something about a stopped up gland, duct, or something.

A very nice doctor examined me, finally saying it was very sore, red, and full of yuck. She gave me an antibiotic for eye and said it should be well in ten days. Otherwise, come back. This took all afternoon!

Tommy died

I am distraught! He died at 12:15 am on 3-14.
