Saturday Progress

Within 12 hours of taking the first dose of an antibiotic, two things happened. First, I felt much better. Second, all the symptoms of the illness occurred--head congestion, sore throat, lots of coughing with results. It puzzles me.

Today, we took a ride to get another ad and look for produce man. At the store we went to today to pick up an ad. They had the best sales! The Pig and Publix did not have good ads.

Last year, we found a guy selling produce from his truck that was backed up to his yard. Today, I only bought a beefsteak tomato for $2. I am quite sure he buys his produce from the Finley market, but I don't have to walk.

I took a nap later while Tommy found his dinner. He took a pint freezer bag from the freezer that contained ham. He had ham, corn, and cherry tomatoes for his dinner. I ate a bite or two of ham with slaw and later had a tomato sandwich--bread, MW, slices of beefsteak tomato. Yes, just a tomato sandwich like I remember from my youth, only we grew the tomatoes of my youth.

Our flowers are covered with bumblebees. Tommy steers clear of them. At my house,  bumblebees bumped into me and never stung me, so I am not afraid at all. The one time a bumblebee stung me was when I scooped it up in my sandal. I thought a stick was in my sandal so continued to walk with it stinging my little toe several times.

I am really not well, but today I have fetched my own food from the kitchen instead of asking Tommy to bring things to me. That is a good sign.

I know a BLT is delicious, but there is a simplicity that spells pure summer bliss in bread, spread, and tomato. Do you ever eat a simple sandwich of tomato that is evocative of long-ago pleasures--tomato sandwich? Or, maybe you never ate this summer delight as a child or young person?

Did I get this correct?

This is supposed to be on Practical Parsimony. So, is it showing up on moreparsimony? thi
