Stone and Skillet

When I awoke at 1 pm a check for $5000 was in the door. Yay!

When the rewiring is done, we will get two new bathrooms, we are painting house inside and getting new or more kitchen cabinets. I hope he will totally replace them. Then, we will have ducts cleaned!

I hate the kitchen floor. Hopefully, I can get a new one. Maybe the paneling in kitchen and dining area can go. I hate paneling. Oh, we need new indoor doors. I will tackle this one thing at a time.

Finally, at 8 am, I went to sleep. My legs finally were warm enough. I was tired still when I awoke,  but no brain fog. Tuesday was weird.

Tommy was procrastinating about making appointments--lawyer for Trust and surgeon for hip replacement. After a month, I made both appointments today.

Thursday, I bought STONE and SKILLET English Muffins. They were delicious. On Friday, I found mold on them one day before their expiration date. I returned them and bought another package. I froze those one at a time. Today, I bought two more flavors, looked down and saw I was eating mold! Those will go back tomorrow. These are new to Publix. However, check the date carefully.

Has anyone had these English Muffins?

More Dogs Show Up!

When we pulled in the driveway, a pickup with a dog pen, the 10x10x10 foot kind, was unloading in the yard.  Of course, those panels are so heavy that a person will unload close to where they want to place it. Their location was as close to my bedroom as it could get.

I walked over and asked where they were going to put it. The woman pointed to that corner of the back yard, right near my bedroom, as close as they could get it. I told her I am ill, cannot sleep. She said they would not leave them out at night, they would bring them in. I told her I need to take a nap every day. She said she would keep that in mind. So, her response was not hopeful.

I pointed out she had a huge yard and room for the pen on the other side of the house. She did not look happy even though she was smiling. This development is already stressing me!

We went out about 5 pm and the dog pen panels are leaning against their fence just a bit further back. So, they will do as they please.

The day before, the had they chihuahua and a very young puppy in addition to the two older puppies I saw on the first day. Tommy said he saw another puppy like that but a different color and a larger do. So, maybe a mama dog, too? That makes six dogs. They keep them inside along with at least six people?

The city has a noise ordinance that covers dogs! That makes me feel better.

The cupcakes should have been delivered first. This will look fishy. Oh, well.

Tonight, I came across a Martha White  Apple Cider Muffin Mix that I bought several months ago. Instead of muffins, I had something else in mind. I chopped a Granny Smith apple and put it in a brownie pan sprayed with PAM. Into the mix I put half and half instead of milk. About a cup of cauliflower rice was added to the batter. This was baked and awaits. Tommy may just dig the apples out since he thought the batter was gross, he barely likes cauliflower, and is averse to trying new things somedays.

I think the fake company stole the picture of the greenhouse and will collect from customers and give nothing in return. Nothing felt right to me. That is why I asked you about your thoughts. The ad was not for patterns or instructions. It was just a scam. Thanks for confirming my gut reaction. Oh, I just checked back to comments and helpful people enlightened me further.

Dinner tonight will be baked chicken and salad. I am not feeling like eating the apple-cauliflower apple cider muffins. Maybe. Edit: Tommy had chicken and potato salad and green salad. I had pork loin and potatoes, cold. We both had a green salad.

Apple Muffins and Fruit Jars

on Saturday night, I decided to use up an Apple cinnamon muffin mix and two large Granny Smith Apples. The muffin mix had apple chips. Tommy has never owned a muffin tin. I cored, peeled, and chopped the apples and mixed the mix with milk. Foil over the pan, I tried to mix the apples with the apples, but the bowl was way too small. I put the extra apples in the middle of the cookie sheet and dumped the muffin and apple mixture onto the extra apples and baked it at 350 degrees. Tommy proclaimed it delicious. We ate the rest on Sunday night. It was not muffins, but good nevertheless--a hit with Tommy.

This morning, I forgot to use Victoza, and was seeing double when I got out at the church. I was miserable the whole time and could barely walk. Once home. I could not find the new vial and went to bed. Tommy searched the refrigerator and so did I. I moved everything in the refrigerator. The second time looking, I actually picked up the half gallon of milk and there is was. !!! It will take me two days to feel well again, but I feel some better now.

Tommy had a peanut butter sandwich for lunch and I just went to bed. We had the last of the chicken and the last of the Brussels sprouts for dinner. It looks like I have to put out something to thaw tonight--chicken. What else would I cook?

If I can find the potatoes, I will make some iteration of potatoes and open a can of green beans to go with the baked chicken tomorrow night. Okay, Tommy found the potatoes for me.

The weather is so beautiful that it is hard to believe that even though a hurricane is heading this way, the weather is supposed to stay dry and nice.

Tomorrow, I need to go shopping and return a few things.

The first time I looked into Tommy's refrigerator was as soon as I got here and started putting milk and things in his refrigerator. Imagine my surprise when I found about a dozen pint Ball canning jars in his refrigerator. All were dirty, maybe rinsed out. I give him food in pint jars. Obviously, he has not been returning them. So, at least I now have jars to store leftovers here. So many dozens went to the dump when my house was razed!

There is nothing happening, and that is good. Of course, it all starts again on Tuesday.

Tommy died

I am distraught! He died at 12:15 am on 3-14.
