I Do Not Love CVS, Cleaning Service

I knew I have some sort of credit at CVS and Walgreen's, so Saturday I thought I would use this credit to buy candy. After I went to the machine to get coupons at CVS, I sat in the car and looked them over, taking inside the ones I might use. Well, that was a bust. I will have to check the emails I keep getting from these two.

After I picked out the item for the coupon use, I still had to buy more to be at the $$ amount for the coupon. I ended up buying even more. The one thing I don't regret is finally getting something for roots, hair roots. I am not even going to mention what all I bought because I am not.

This is why I never use many of the coupons at the drugstores. AND, I did not have other coupons to stack. It seemed it was once easier to get a bargain. Plus, bent over the cart is rough and I hurt. And, they only had $12 bags of candy and higher. I left those.

I know the strategy to use. It was not working Saturday!

Thankfully, the candy bags were smaller at Publix

Saturday, after we got home, I suppose I went into the kitchen a dozen times or more putting the final hanging shelves up and putting food on the shelves. Three minutes is my limit for standing and working. We can both tell it is getting better in the dining room and kitchen, less cluttered and more organized. Now, I just need light so I won't have to use a flashlight in there!

I have said for months that we need someone to clean. Yesterday, I made the call while Tommy listened and Tommy participated by adding to what I said, just in the background. He thinks getting it all clean and then someone every two weeks will be necessary. I agreed. Whew! Of course, he knows he is paying for it.

If I were able, I would clean.

Beautiful Weather Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday, we both went into the store where I won the $100 grocery certificate. I was looking for something in particular and told Tommy to buy it. The manager found it and we asked where it was since it appears to change locations often. She said, "over where the $1 items are." Tommy and I both went to look at the $1 items. He looked happy as he found huge tubes of Pepsodent for $1.and bought two. I had him buy two of the covered dishes with 3 partitions...$1 each.He loves a good bargain. I guess that is cheap, but I never price Pepsodent toothpaste. On the regular soap aisle, I found a very small pink Dove for $0.79. I bought it and looked at it later. The Dove was made in Germany and had Farsi writing. I suppose it was Farsi. At any rate, we are both in the running for $100. Keep your fingers crossed.

At Publix I found glass storage containers by Pyrex that had the snaplock lids. These storage pieces were bogo. So for $8, I have two nice storage containers. The ad was going off on Tuesday, so I got two round ones with the lids for about $7. There are no containers here that I consider safe to use. Now, I have four in two sizes. Or, they are at least two shapes. You cannot beat these prices for glass.

On Wednesday, I was in CVS to purchase Melatonin, the brand I like, Natrol. As usual, I checked out the $1 aisle. There and up front in bin was the same huge tube of Pepsodent reduced to $0.50. You might check this out as there were two more buggies back in front of greeting cards were there were more $1 items reduced to 1/2 price. oh, I did not find Natrol Melatonin.

The weather has been mild neither hot nor cold, in mid 60s. Going out has been pleasant. The nights are not too cold at all, in 40s. My feet are not cold but my upper body still gets too warm. A sweater is even too warm.

The doctor visit was not good news except I have no kidney disease, much less a uti. So, it is off to more doctors to find out why my swollen ankle suddenly turned into a swollen leg. But, I lost more weight! That is either good news or bad news. So, I will find out. I am more exhausted than usual.

My clothes are getting too large. Well, not all of them are too big, just enough to make me look like I am wearing someone else's clothes. Of course, shoes are too tight. I turned over the top of pants I bought. Then as I was walking, I thought they had come unrolled. So, I rolled them over once more. Then, I could not get my hands into my pockets.

The clothes from Saturday, the ones given me do not fit. Rats!

I bought Ocean Spray cranberry sauce, just one can, for $1.38. I still believe it will be cheaper. But, this stuff disappears quickly and I do not want to be store-hopping at the last minute. Still, other things are not on sale that I want.

Since I am not supposed to indulge in fiber, I am torn between buying and eating celery! But, it is not on sale anywhere that I have found.

Tonight, Tommy had the rest of the soup, and I had the rest of the spaghetti. I had no pasta like I thought I did, so toast subbed. I knew it didn't taste quite right. I had forgotten to put Parmesan cheese on it.

Now, I am going to check on online ads and make a list.

How are your T day preps and shopping coming along?

Lunch, Rain, CVS

Tuesday was the day of free lunch that we pick up. Lunch--ham, squash casserole, green beans, roll and cookies. I think they actually baked the hams! It was the best ham I have had in  years. The green beans were from the can, just heated up, the way I like them. There were no onions, extra pepper or anything. I was happy. The squash casserole was not made by the recipe I use. I picked out the squash and ate it.  It seems that stuffing mix was used. There was no cheese. I ate heartily. Dessert--two cookies.

Tommy did not come as I was concerned about him driving in 70% chance of rain. There were no torrents like I expected, just gentle but steady rain some of the time. Still, there was no other reason for him to come, so I suggested he not come. He agreed.

Kitty may be afraid I will step on her. I have walked out three times, and she has steered clear of my feet.

When I went out of the house, the humidity body-slammed me. The ac is having a hard time removing it from the house. I am quite sure I can wring humidity from things in the house...lol. Without ac, I would be in trouble.

After making a purchase at CVS, I got a $3 off coupon. Well, I went in the day it was expiring and bought a single jerky for Tommy and something else. If I had the receipt, I could give you a better idea of what I purchased. Anyway, I paid a bit over $1. At the register I got another coupon, this time for $2. Sooo, I shopped again right then.

At their cheap counter, I found potholders 2/$.50 and got 4 potholders. I forgot what else I got, but I paid less than $1.50 for merchandise worth about $7.

It would be more impressive if I had the receipts, but they are gone. This was three weeks ago. I doubt I will ever find the receipts. I am not Sluggy!

After lunch I needed to make two important phone calls, but I was nap-snatched. Dinner will be the second lunch I picked up.

How was your day? Rainy?

Tommy died

I am distraught! He died at 12:15 am on 3-14.
