Wednesday and a New Project

This day was a perfect day. The skies were pretty and the temperature was in 80s. We had two things to do. We picked up my book that was lost in the house. My friend wrote it--To Live and Die in Alabama, by Stephen Edmondson. Unfortunately, they gave the paperback instead of the hardcover I ordered.

Then, we went to Sam's Club, bought a few things and returned home. The bulkiest, heaviest item we bought was the wrong size. So, that will be another trip. I am bummed about that. Tommy needed milk and checked the price which was cheaper than stores we frequent.

We had a slice of Sam's pizza and diet drink in the car. It was not much of a car picnic since we ate in Sam's parking lot. I just did not want to drive to a shady place. It worked. We ate. Tommy wanted to half a piece which was okay with me. But, he wants the meat pizza, four kinds in this case. That really grosses me out. Plus, I am allergic to something in pepperoni.

He took the scenic route home from Homewood, whatever the scenic route is.

We are really good at shopping together, with neither of us causing a problem driving around the store. We load the huge cart efficiently with both of us moving things about with no disputes about what goes where. He was in a peaceful mood today. It was fun.

He got his taxes done, getting a refund of $1K from fed and almost $100 from the state of AL. He was annoyed he had overpaid so much and said he needs to figure out what to do to pay less next year.

Yesterday, I had Tommy bring me a baking pan for my lap, then a pot of dirt. I planted two packets of seeds in it. He watered it yesterday. Hopefully, something will come up. I planted Bachelor Buttons and Alyssum, both free packets from the Ag Center. Any flowers I get will please me. He watered it today, too, all the plants. I hope the birds don't decided to eat the seeds. I will put a fake snake near it.

I heard on TV that seniors can get even more of a reduction on taxes even with the homestead exemption. He argued with me and then I heard it again. So, now I will enter the information online. He is always eager to save money.

Today, I got out my hot pink sandals and felt happy wearing them. I am silly that way...lol.

My new project overshadows all plans I have. I know a college student who needs help. He failed last semester because he lost his ride to school. And, he is homeless. So, I have contacts that will help him figure it all out. He needs a car and a place to live permanently. However, he holds down a fulltime job. He is a non-traditional student. I have talked with someone who can get him through the process of regaining his grant. I have taken on the task of getting him in a car. I have contacts, old as they may be. My mind has been whirring. This kind of thing energizes and excites me. I can advocate for someone else much better than for myself.

This was an excellent Wednesday, excellent day. For dinner I had a thin, tiny slice of ham and a huge plate of slaw from a mix. The cabbage is chopped in little squares, instead of being shredded. Tommy had rest of the ground beef, zucchini, and some of the same slaw. I had half a banana, strawberries, and blueberries today. A huge box of blueberries was fairly cheap at Sam's and they are huge.

Tommy found my bluebird I made, so tomorrow I can repaint it and hang it along with the hummingbird feeders.

How was your Wednesday or any other day?

The mower did not come as scheduled. grrr. He will come when he can. I lay down for a nap thinking he would wake me with his work. But, instead, I had a nice nap.

Do you ever garden in your lap?

This and That, Nothing Much

After a stormy night, I awakened to news of tornado deaths. Thankfully, there was nothing except heavy winds and rains where we live. After an exceptionally warm Tuesday, the storms were to be expected. When we have exceptionally warm weather in the fall, we pay for it in tornado damage.

When I ordered Glad Kitchen bags from the internet, the price was over $32. I cancelled that within three minutes. Today, going into the store saved over $12. Plus, it would take until Dec. 9 to arrive. Due to my procrastination, we only had three bags left. So, I saved money there. Since it is Tommy's money, he really likes it.

Tonight, we had sausage and kale flatbread pizza with broccoli crust. I thought it was delicious. Tommy thought it was so-so. I mixed up a little fruit salad for me that Tommy won't touch--grapes, apple, banana.

We went out long enough today to pick up meds for Tommy from a drive-up window and get two things--garbage bags and Claritin. I really wanted to browse, but I resisted. We did sit in the park for a few minutes.

I don't feel well tonight. For more than 24 hours, I have had the feeling nothing empties from my stomach and gerd and hiccups plague me! Plus, three dogs from next door barked for over an hour today--one barks, one has a long woof, the other is a yappy, tiny dog. It is maddening. They did bark at other times, too, so this is continual noise.
See? I told you nothing much.

How was the weather in your area? Tornado warnings?

Progress on Many Fronts

1) Found a local magnifier. It was ten whole dollars. Too much and not really good, but it is the only one in three stores. So, we can use it until I get something larger. The lens is about 1.5" square. It does have a light. I figured out part of the problem, the reason I could not make out one word. Well, two reasons--the tiny print was in grayscale, and it was fuzzy besides. I know gray scale is not supposed to be sharp, but this was the fuzziest gray scale I have ever come across.

2)List for today, rather tonight:

put capon in oven

cook frozen pizza with some of the meat Tommy cooked

Load ingredients into crock pot for taco soup/casserole

wash and cook blackberries

hang up with clothes

fold clothes from dryer

hang up wet clothes

None of this is really time consuming, just Tommy's job of picking meat from capon carcass. I did buy 5 gallons of vinegar today. I would have bought another five, but Tommy has to push it in his walker and lift it into the house. He has real muscles, bulging ones from lifting the walker with gallons of vinegar, 24 packs of water, two gallons of milk, Cokes. His muscles are impressive.

3) I just talked to newest cleaner of bathroom. I asked what she wanted in the way of cleaning products. She wants Windex and she will get Windex, never mind that I think vinegar will do a good job. She wants to be paid $18/hr and she will get that and more! She wants Comet and she will get Comet even though I think Barkeeper's Friend is better. I don't want her unhappy!

If she willing, Tommy is willing to have someone come and do one room at a time until the house is completely clean and then have someone come in every two weeks.

4) We have lots of utensils. Today, I found dinner forks and got two packages for a total of 12. Yes, we can have a banquet. I have only purchased 6 dinner knives. However, I have 12 salad forks, 12 dinner forks, 12 teaspoons, and 12 larger spoons. I can eat with either fork or either spoon. I have never seen teaspoons that were not iced tea spoons. These are just regular spoons. The larger spoons are not soups spoons, not sure what purpose. We have plenty with 24 forks and 24 spoons.

Tommy, who so objected to my buying flatware, is now using metal instead of plastic. When I walk into the kitchen holding a fork with which I have eaten, I put it right into the dishwasher. I have no hopes he will do this. But, it is just as well since he would probably put spoons in so they spoon and never come clean in the wash.

This pizza was given to us. When the instructions say to put it in the oven frozen, do it. I had a hard time getting all the doughy crust from the plastic to pizza pan. It just was a glob I had to try to smooth and stretch. I have never bought a frozen pizza in my life.

The weather has been nice and hot and low humidity. Nice! It has been a pleasant day all around. How has your day been? What have you done today? Plans for tomorrow?

Cheeseburger Pizza

I had the ground beef with Vidalia onions in it, both chopped and cook, and was inspired to have a cheeseburger pizza. We also had flat bread, grated cheese, and spaghetti sauce. I chopped two zucchini and layered it all. After a very few moments in the oven, it was all melty and warm. We really enjoyed it. The zucchini was a bit crunchy still but did not detract from the overall pizza. I forgot to put fresh oregano I cut on the pizza, too. Next time, I will soften the zucchini, maybe cooking it like the onions with the ground beef.

This is a hefty yardstick. I hold it, turn it stroke it, admire the brass ends. It is such a new experience. Never in my life have I been so enamored of a new tool. The other yardsticks were all freebies and thin and much more flexible.

Speaking of tools, I needed to use needle nose pliers. Tommy brought me his, and they were solidly rusted into one hunk of metal. Tommy said they are over 80 years. They are identical to mine--solid metal and no rubber on the handles. I really dislike the ones that have coating of whatever sort on the handles. His hammer is the same age.

On the list, we washed the snaplock lids. I wash them and Tommy dries. Even though he was not asked, he started sorting them into sizes and placed them sideways in the bin where I keep them instead of stacking them and shuffling them to find the right lid like I did...lol. The dishwasher is now emptied.

When Tommy's old dishwasher was removed, I took the utensil holders, two, to use in this one. I like the utensil holder on the door instead of on the side of the dishwasher. That is why I bought this particular model. Now, it does not work so well. This removable utensil holder fits on the side and is easily removable. I bought flatware! I will relate that later.

Remains of the list:

sort sweet potatoes
buy spray bottle
wash or color hair
hang clothes inside to dry
cook ground pork

Not on list but things accomplished today:

Tommy watered plants
I washed and filled hummingbird feeders
Tommy put them out
I napped
We drove to find pink bag of ads

At 10:30 pm, it is 95F

Tommy cooked the ground pork I put in the pan for him. Before I turned away, he asked me if I wanted to throw away the remains of the chopped zucchini that would not go on the pizza already piled high with chopped zucchini. I had him add it to the pork when it was almost done. I intend this pork to be used for taco casserole/soup, so zucchini won't make a difference. So, we used it all. I will probably freeze the ground pork.

Tuesday night, we will have spaghetti since we have spaghetti sauce open and the rest of the ground beef and onions to use or freeze. That will most likely make two meals.

Now, we are making a list for Wednesday. I will go into Aldi first thing Wednesday morning while produce is not trampled for grapes and zucchini. This is a time I will get up early for a bargain since the produce looks nasty and people are throwing it about and walking on it much later in the day or week.

This was a good day, pleasant, hot. Of course, the ac was great inside...lol.  I watched birds, hummingbirds, butterflies and other birds, plus all the flowers outside the door.

Do you have your own version of cheeseburger pizza?
Have you found that zucchini can be added to anything without changing the taste or character of the dish?

Pizza, Candy Corn, Chair

There were problems, like no clean dishes to cook with, so we bought Domino's Pizza on Wednesday night. I used cooking time to put away groceries and organize a bit. So, it was a trade-off. Tommy would buy pizza every night if I even thought of it. . .lol He gets double sausage on his half and I get double mushroom.

Since it was dark, we were going to pay for delivery and tip, making it more expensive. The pizza picked up was $7.99 but delivered was $10.99. However, there was an extra $3.99 charged for delivery. It seems like double charging for delivery to me. She said the total would be $16.99. That is for a 14" pizza with double toppings, a special price, anyway. Then, they did not put the olive oil and garlic on the crusts which makes me upset. They do this over half the time.

I am not interested in any other pizza, so don't try to tempt me. I have tried them all and prefer Domino's. If you invite me to eat something else, I would eat it. But, Domino's is what I prefer! It is what I will pay for a hot pizza.

HA! I watched Wagon Train and Flint, Robert Horton guy, kisses girls, something Matt Dillon does not do. I really prefer not to have a lot of kissing, just killing...lol. \

I can recommend this package of muffin mix--Martha White Pumpkin Spice Muffin Mix. It called for 3/4 cup of milk. Somehow, I put in one cup of milk. I sighed and went ahead and baked it. I put it in a small casserole about 7"x9". It turned out great with a delicious flavor. With all the milk I used the little cake was dense and moist, a very nice texture. I paid $0.48 at The Pig. It may be more elsewhere. For the next package, I may add canned pumpkin.

This afternoon, I had to search to find the candy corn, the tiny package I bought. It was time to sample them. I ate a bunch and Tommy ate less, so I tossed him the rest of the bag. At least we did not eat every candy we wanted this season.

We found out that La z boy charged us for fabric protector. We specifically told the woman we did not want that. So, that has to be rectified. The saleswoman has chairs to sell, I suppose, because we cannot get her attention. Both these chairs are NOT fabric, so I am not sure why protector. Well, unless the conditioner is to condition the plastic or vinyl or whatever it is. Tommy says that the coating on fabric in new cars makes him itch. So, he was adamant. We were charged $69.99 twice.

We went the short distance to the office in La z boy and I sat in a chair in front of the office. The walker is too uncomfortable. I like the chair as it was high-density foam and wonderful. It was a mission style chair, not my style at all. But, we need a couple of chairs. I need one in my bedroom. It was ~$1300. You read that correctly "about thirteen hundred dollars!"  I might in a wild dream pay that much, but not for a style I would not want. However, I was awake. There are consignment shops. Tommy was shocked as well.

Oh, they don't carry used furniture away because of Covid. I would worry more about bedbugs, fleas and roaches or other critters. I bought a chair once and found a dead rat under the cushion! My friend's sofa had mice make nests and tunnels in her sofa. No problem with getting rid of these. We will call a thrift store or church yard sale where we go. Or, give them away somewhere, maybe sell the loveseat. It is still in good enough condition, fabric-wise to sell. It is just too worn in the seat for my back and too close to the floor.  I am sitting about 12 inches off the floor when I struggle to rise.

I will tell you about the bed and mattress tomorrow night, the one on which I sleep.

Thursday might, we will have the plan for last night, the casserole with Stovetop, chicken and vegetables.

Nothing Much Saturday--This and That

Today, we saw a clip of a 98-yr-old nurse who was retiring. Tommy commented that she could get around better than either of us could.  So true!

Okay, I have a new doctor. Hopefully, some of the issues I have will be resolved. I am not giving up my specialists, except the endocrinologist, possibly. My legs and feet are hurting from the swelling. Plus, inside my mouth I have fat inner cheeks and too much tongue. There has got to be a reason, or a fix.

Plus, I am becoming ill again. This is happening every two weeks. Last night, I could not sleep, slept a bit toward morning, awoke at almost noon, and went back to bed by 2 pm and slept until 6 pm. I didn't even eat breakfast or lunch.

Remember the night I got up in the middle of the night and ate? Well, that has not happened since then. It is not that I don't eat, I don't even awake hungry.

Since I saw a pizza commercial two days ago and told Tommy I only wanted pizza because I saw it, he said we could get one. So, without a bite in my stomach all night and day, I had Dominos pizza about 7:30 this evening. Even after eating half of a large pizza, I felt like I had eaten nothing. It was a good feeling. I was not at all hungry once I finished. Now, I am drinking lots of water.

We needed two things from the grocery. Once again, I did not have the energy to go into the store, so Tommy went in, thankfully. He had to call me from inside and kept on his mask. Whew! I suppose he is taking the renewed risks seriously. Before, he pulled down his mask in the store to talk on the phone. No more.

Last week, I had cooked lots of chicken breast. I mentioned to Tommy the ways we could use it. I mentioned I thought maybe I would cook Stovetop Stuffing with chicken, dried cranberries and green beans in it. However, I said it would be too much bread. He became very animated and said I could cook chicken and rice since I had plenty of cream of chicken, cream of mushroom soups, rice and all the chicken. I was amused that he could name off what went into a recipe. We had neither dishes.  But, he looked so happy when he talked about the chicken and rice casserole. Even though the chicken in the recipe is raw, I can still make it for him, but with brown rice.

Last night, we had BBQ chicken, chopped, green beans, and slaw with cubed tomatoes from the Farmer's Market. I think that will be dinner tomorrow night, too. The slaw is made, so easy peasy dinner.

This next week, I have some very important doctor's appointments. I dread the week in a way, but the rain will be much less, so the week will be rather pleasant and hot. And, the doctor's appointments may solve some problems, so I really look forward to those.

Even with hospitalizations rising, few people are wearing masks in stores! Aaaagh!

Commotion Friday

Friday morning, I lay down for one hour, just to rest my back. Then, Friday afternoon, I was tired after only getting four hours sleep Thursday night. I lay down a little after 5 pm and told him to wake me at 7 pm. I fully expected to sleep.

Well, less than an hour later, I heard a big noise. I ran out and he said he dropped what he was holding--a paper plate with the leavings of three oranges he had eaten. So, I still have not asked him what made the big noise.  I just went back to bed!

About 30 minutes later, I heard lots of noises, seemingly coming from the kitchen. I went in there and he had knocked a coke off the refrigerator shelf and it rolled about and something else. He had all the little crates (3) of cheese and such on the counter and was sorting them. Well, I got the coke from the floor and whatever else fell.

He had emptied and sorted the whole refrigerator! It looked really good! But, I never got a nap or any more rest. So, that leaves me now, at 9 pm, reeling from exhaustion. At least dinner was easy.

I took two deli rolls and halved them. I had thawed leftover pizza sauce still in the jar, almost. I thawed meatballs in the microwave. I put pizza sauce on the rolls rather heavily, sliced the meatballs in three pieces each, put those on the pizza sauce and topped it with mozarella cheese, sliced, not grated. Then, it went under the broiler. A salad of Italian blend greens and tomatoes and Italian dressing topped off the meal. I only ate one half of my roll and ate the toppings off the other half.  Ah, easy dinner. There is enough pizza sauce for another meal.

He was really helpful but I needed sleep! Of course, I am not irritated, just exhausted. I don't think he did it on purpose.

About a month ago, I spotted  a new rake in a tree on city property. I doubt anyone was coming back for it. And, it certainly was not city property. So, I struggled and extracted it from the tree. I doubt I was stealing or I would have left it.

The children across the street liked the Easter eggs in the tree in front of Tommy's house, as I have said. Now, I am planning what to hang in the tree for May. Maybe I will hang blue stars and red and white ribbons. If we put it up the middle of May for Memorial Day, it can last until the 4th of July.

Saturday, we went for my two things on the list--look for the Food Truck Corner activity and see if the church is having a yard sale. Nothing was happening on the corner and the church was having a yard sale. I could barely walk, so stayed about three minutes. I found another large purse for my Pink Purse Project and only paid $1.

I managed to wash a few more dishes and Tommy dried. The lamp I bought to illuminate the dining room a bit was finally plugged in. It took both of us. And, I finally found one of the hundreds of bulbs, 60 watt, that I bought before the production was banned. I am not sure why the old bulbs were on sale, but I purchased them cheaply,  Westinghouse, 130V.

Now, I am going to take a nap before dinner.  Since I had no nap due to Tommy's commotion, I slept little again on Friday night.

The Thermometer and Cravings

While it is still below freezing, the temperature Wednesday should rise above freezing later this afternoon. I have not stuck my nose out of the house since Sunday. No thanks. Tommy lets in a lot of air and leaves the door open every time he goes to washing machine or to the mailbox. But, it is my choice for the door to be open as I wish to hear him if he falls and yells for me. This is my choice in the summer, too.

Wednesday morning, all seven of my tulips have bloomed, but some not fully. They are red but appear to be a deep pink, almost red. I would rather have pink, anyway. I brought them home on 2/14 and they are all bloomed on 2/17. It is fun to watch them.

Like I have said, there are no windows to place things to get sun. So, these have been sitting under/beside an incandescent bulb in a lamp. Obviously, this works for blooms. I wonder if seeds would germinate.

I am going to try to make a better pizza crust tonight. I will read the directions on the pizza crust mix....lol. We need to use the open container of Prego Pizza Sauce. Tonight, we will have meatballs, bell pepper, and onions on top along with the sauce and cheese. I may let Tommy cut the meatballs into small pieces if I don't want to cut them.

Even though it was bitterly cold last night, the temperature in the house was uniform and warm. Of course, the bedroom I sleep in is always colder except in the summer when it is torrid.

I said I had used all the dishes. No, four of the glass dishes that I use in the oven were still in the dishwasher. I just could not see them in the dark! The tongs that Tommy said were not in the dishwasher were in there, hiding in the dark. When I ask Tommy to get something from dishwasher or off a shelf, he sees how difficult it is to function in the dark since he needs to get a strong flashlight and still cannot find things.

Amazon brought my pedal exerciser today. I finally got it put together as there were minimal instructions or pictures. This item weighs only 8 pounds, so it is infinitely easier to handle as opposed to the 28 pound elliptical.

After finishing this post, I tried my new pedal exerciser. The motion of the pedal does not hurt my knee like the elliptical. Within one minute I knew two things. The pedaler works. Doing it without shoes hurts my foot.   So, I need to wear shoes when using it. The elliptical had a flat pad where the foot sat. This cost $110 less than the elliptical.

Another package was reported by email to have been left in the mailbox. But, it was not there, so the two assistive devices are being sent again. I suppose someone stole it.

I finished loading the dishwasher in record time and with an enormous number of large and heavy items. While it hurt my back to load it and took forever with my breaks, I still hurt less than I would have. I am also dry. Washing dishes with my elbows on the edge of the sink/counter left me soaked.

Hopefully, everyone is warm and safe, forgoing using generators inside or any other heating means that can kill with carbon monoxide or flames. Three days without heat, electricity, or water in subzero weather is a terrible burden and danger.

I am glad we are having pizza since we are watching a documentary on pizza in America.

I am craving two things: chocolate anything and chicken. What am I going to do about it. First, I am making brownies. As for the chicken, I may thaw one of the pieces of breast. In the meantime, a 6 lb. package of chicken thighs is thawing so I can cook that for Tommy while I eat the breast.

What are you craving and what are you going to do about it?

Things and I made pizza dough

Wednesday, I was supposed to go to Huntsville to pick up documents to give to my attorney. When Tommy woke me, I said okay. Then, the came back and I moved and groaned. I think he came back a third time or either I got up. But, I told him I could not go, that I was too exhausted. So, we did not. An hour later, at 10 am, I told him I was tired and going to bed. I awoke at 3:45. Yes, I was exhausted.

We went for a ride. I made spaghetti for dinner, using the seasoned meat from Tuesday night and dumped in the green beans. It was delicious until I dumped all but the first few bites onto the carpet. It was in a pile, so I used my hand to remove the top of the pile and left all the meat and the rest of the spaghetti and sauce on the carpet. A dishtowel amazingly removed it all. Not even a stain was left.

After the spilled spaghetti, I was too disgusted to eat the leftover sweet potato! Wednesday night--a bit of spaghetti,  two granny smith apples diced, sprinkled with sugar, cinnamon and butter in the oven.

So, spaghetti with meat and green beans, baked apples. Lunch was a bologna sandwich eaten at 4 pm, so I suppose it was breakfast and lunch about dinnertime. banana and apple. The spaghetti had red bell peppers and mushrooms in abundance.

Speaking of carpets, the dishwasher guy unloaded the rest of the undersink items. I had a tub of stuff I bought and dragged it out before he came. Tommy had complained about me touching his stuff. So, his stuff was removed by someone else. The guy did not put it back which was okay. I told Tommy to let's go and see what needed to be kept and what needed to be thrown out.

The four things the guy removed were all for carpet cleaning. Tommy said to throw them all away as I showed him one at a time. There is more of his stuff under the sink, but I was not going to deal with that right now or then, as it were. From the way he talked, the carpet cleaners were at least 30 years old. Things that needed to be thrown out are slowly being thrown out.

A day later he laughed and told me when he first got the new carpet, he got down on his knees and cleaned every tiny spot on the carpet. He was laughing because he does not care now. Well, he cannot get down on his knees or use a carpet cleaner. He said he even rented a carpet cleaner!

I was so exhausted after the dishwasher installation episode, I did not even wash dishes. The next night, I put in a few things and ran it. Thursday, I will start washing the dishes from dinner tonight and the stacks of dishes that were here when I came here. I predict that our consumption of paper plates and plastic forks and spoons will decrease dramatically.

The plumber managed to stab his index finger with a screwdriver as he inserted the little plastic screw to attach the toe piece on the dishwasher. He jerked back and sort of moaned as he snatched off the thin glove he used. He sort of rocked back and forth on his knees. He was shaking. I think he was trying to keep from crying from the look on his face. Or curse, or scream.

He jumped up and put his finger under the faucet and I came and asked to see it. It definitely could use at least one stitch. He let it bleed with water running on it. I gave him a clean dishcloth and he wrapped it up. I didn't know where a band aid was located. I gave him Mupirocin to put on and then just gave him the whole tube. He was grateful and expressed it many times. I need to find the band aids!

Several months ago, I finally found pizza dough mix. I decided I would make pizza dough and a pizza. Tommy said sauce and cheese were find. He would prefer other ingredients, but said he wanted just cheese.

If I had followed the directions on the package, it would have been perfect. But, no! Why follow directions?

I bought a second brand to compare, so I may make that later because I need to eat or freeze the pizza sauce. It took a third of the 14 oz jar, about 4 ounces. So, I will freeze it in two half pint Ball canning jars. It is so expensive that I am going to make the next batch of pizza sauce and freeze the homemade one. I have found pizza sauce recipes on the internet. Does anyone have a recipe or advice as to how you make pizza sauce. It cost $2 for 14 oz.

When my brother was about 12yrs old, he was a bottomless pit and my mother fed him all the fast food he wanted and all she could cook of healthy food. I had gone to school and learned from friends to make pizza. Maybe I was married. I told her how to make the pizza dough from a little mix, dress it, and make them in her oven without cost and leaving home to go buy food for him. Now, I forgot what I bought or did that I taught her.

Now, I am going to the kitchen and load the dishwasher with things that are recently dirty and dishes that have been sitting here for at least a year before I arrived. Hopefully, he will allow the chipped and cracked dishes. If not, he can wash them himself. I don't want them breaking in the dishwasher. I have told him he repairs the dishwasher if anything breaks and messes up the new dishwasher.

No, I am not making dough from scratch.

Pizza from Tortillas, Cokes

Tortillas, cheese--had these. So, I bought a jar of pizza sauce. I browned the tortillas more than I meant to brown them. I used half the jar on two pizzas. The 8 oz of Mozzarella was used, also. So, I only had $2 or less invested in these 4 pizzas.

I had no mushrooms, or black olives for me and no pepperoni for him. He hates mushrooms and black olives and I am allergic to pepperoni. Since we like these, I will prepare for next time. We had two each pizza tortillas.  I can cook some of the roll of sausage I have in the freezer. We missed that because it was not thawed.

We will have these pizzas again. I just don't like the cost of Mozzarella or the pizza sauce. We can use cheddar if necessary, and I should make the pizza sauce. I will freeze the tortillas now.

I have about three bags of oranges. Since I am not supposed to have the fiber, I will have to juice them. I juiced one and definitely need a juicer to do this right. I see the electric juicers and do not want one. I see the little things you hold in one hand and ream into the other hand holding the orange. Nope, don't want it. It would hurt both hands to use it.

What I really want is one of the antique glass ones. They work so well. Three went into the dump! And, I am not paying the cost and shipping  one from ebay.

The juice was delicious!

Coke is not canning Regular Coke Caffeine Free because of the aluminum can shortage. Bummer. I decided the caffeine was making me have a very fast heartbeat. And, then I was given medicine to slow my heartbeat. Bummer on no more Caffeine Free Coke for me. I have one occasionally.

I never worried about the can shortage or suspected anything could happen to my Coke Caffeine Free. No, silly me worried about canned food and olive oil.  I am quite sure the beer companies are getting their share of cans. If bananas are in short supply, I am sunk.

Coke in cans can be substituted for Coke in bottles, but there are no Regular Coke Caffeine Free on the shelves, either.

Another Saturday happy thing--I picked up and paid for two Rada knives I had ordered. I also dropped off donation to a clothes closet. I only had one thing. The other stuff was Tommy's. Yes, donating is a happy thing.

Are you finding things absent that you need or want? Okay, no one needs to tell me I don't need Cokes!

Monday now.
I am finally putting ice trays in Tommy's freezer. I bought four when i came here but maybe it was two because that is all i can find. Tommy's trays were on the floor and filthy. I put them in to soak and he washed them and the box for dumping them. I am going to use my blue trays and he can use the white ones and the box. I do not think he has clean hands, so he can mess around in his own ice.

Finally--ICE! I have missed it.

Do you like lots of ice? Any ice? Have you found your favorite soft drink or beer is not on the shelf?

Best Yellow Mustard

Mustard later.

Today, I went home and picked up my mail at the PO. KFC sent me my birthday card that was good for a meal. I got Tommy a chicken pot pie. We had the senior tea. I reminded him the pot pie had 1970 mg of sodium. He got loud and nasty and said he did not care. So lunch cost little.

About six weeks ago, I got a Dominos pizza and they left the garlic oil off the crust, even after I reminded them. So, today, I went by and complained and told them to check how many times the gariic oil had bee left off my pizza and I had complained. I brought a large mushroom and sausage pizza home for dinner. Okay, I ate some on the way home. We will have to not eat anything else tonight except for some fruit.

Nothing else was stolen at my house in the last week. I found in the middle of where the house was one tiny yellow baby shoe, apparently all that is left from my younger daughter's baby clothes. I brought it with me. The sight was like a knife through my heart. She had a yellow dress and yellow shoes and a pink dress and pink shoes. All had lace and ruffles, even the shoes. She was such a doll.

I went to agencies, the bank, ATT, and other places. We got home and left after I put the pizza in the refrigerator. I need to document things, so I bought a cheap camera. My Android was stolen and the Kodak is probably in the dump.

Tomorrow, I tackle the silverfish closet, the one assigned to me in his bedroom. He is going to tackle the tub which always has two inches of water, at least, in the bottom. I refuse to get into it. He should not. The reason I know he has silverfish is that he brought his kilt to show me after I begged him to do so. 1/4 of it was eaten by silverfish. I have poison!

I f0und two pair of black pants. One pair at Belk's was $60 and marked down to $19, still too rich for my blood. The other was $17 at a cheap store and not on sale.

At the end of the day at the store, I remembered I needed mustard. I like French's yellow mustard as well as other types. So does Tommy. I eat so little mustard of any type that it does not pay to have a variety. Right now, I started with the absolutely smallest size of French's. Tommy volunteered to get it for me. Then, he got an off-brand and the largest size. When I questioned him, he said I was picky and he did not care the brand.

Yellow Mustard Question.

This question is about yellow mustard only--what is your favorite brand of yellow mustard? Or, do you eat any brand of yellow mustard? I know some of you prefer other types of mustards. But, this game is for those who eat yellow mustard. Tomorrow, you will get your say.

Tommy died

I am distraught! He died at 12:15 am on 3-14.
