It is not as bad as it sounds. I made a decision to finish the meal the day after Thanksgiving and just quit working and have a bogo pizza from the freezer.
I had asked him a dozen times to get out things so we/I could cook. He said okay and did nothing. There was no drama or anger. Finally, I asked him if he wanted to have a frozen bogo pizza and finish Thanksgiving meal the day after. So, we did. The Day After meal was great--turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce from fresh berries, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato pie.
What was not done was my gravy with chopped boiled eggs, 2 deviled eggs, pumpkin pie,
rolls, Jello salad. I think that was all.
A dinner plate will not fit into the new microwave, so that will go back. Apple Barrel red paint cannot be
used as it too thick. That will go back, too.
The extremely cold weather has required more heat and has dried the clothing hung up in the doors faster. I found a new dryer for $97. I believe it is a scam.
Sunday, I will remove all the pumpkins and my one turkey from the living room. Then, Christmas will go up.
Yes, it is very cold here too! I can see why you have heat on. Pizza works for me on Thanksgiving, and you still had your T day meal the next day.
ReplyDeleteBelinda,
DeleteIt is 45F now, and Tommy asked me if I cared if he turned up the heat. PLEASE! I was sooo cold. Of course, he only had a t-shirt.
It was absolutely no problem. It only inconvenienced us. Today, we are baking another turkey breast and making more green bean casserole.
Sounds like you got a cooking break on Thanksgiving and all the yummy stuff the next day. Sounds good to me! I made turkey cottage pie (topped with mashed potatoes instead of a pie crust) with the near-last of our 15-lb turkey. There is just enough left for a cup of chicken salad for DH's lunch. I got about 5 quarts of turkey stock, so soup is in our future this winter!
ReplyDeleteSue,
DeleteActually, I was cooking all day and could not finish that day until it would be so late. I felt like a pizza would be okay and the meal could wait until the next day. I have never had a cottage pie. Maybe some day I will make one. We cooked another turkey breast on Sunday and froze some. We are still eating Thanksgiving dinner...lol. I bought turkey stock bogo.
It's been a while since I saw post or comment anywhere from you. I'm just checking in and hope all is well.
