Sorry

The water line was fixed, Kim.

Silver was daughter's. I offered to sell it once and she said not to.

I do not know my children's telephone numbers, but they know the problem.
I am not delusional.

If I fail, you can all say I told you so.+

Sitting in Mcd parking lot and feeling gutted by the meanness and lack of confidence In me.

Thank you for those who are supportive, and the rest...well, never mind.

Gotta go, ho6 here even in ac.

  1. It is really upsetting to read all these rather insulting comments on how you can't, and how you're "old".

For me all it does it show how sexist and ageist we are in this society. The negativity is just horrid here. She isn't going to build the house by herself. It's all about getting a contractor...and finding a way to fund it. Will it be easy...no probably not, but there are always ways.

Its still "if there is a will, there is a way" and if anyone can do this, Linda can.

  2. The photograph on your sidebar looks so dangerous. Thankfully you were not inside when this happened. Have city engineers or some other authority been able to tell you exactly what caused this collapse to happen? In our area mobile homes are not allowed, and even though the family homes are fairly small around here, I doubt that a "tiny house" would be allowed due to numerous zoning laws, but every area is different, and your community may have completely different rules. I'm sure you have checked your neighborhood zoning regulations in order to help you plan what your best options would be. I hope things will work out for the best for you. Take care.

    1. I was inside. I was never in any danger. No mobile homes or tiny homes will be allowed there. Thank you. I have checked.

  4. I have been reading your blog for a while now, and I can't even begin to imagine the pain and stress of your current situation. People offering "help" are sometimes worse, somehow, since all it does is highlight the attitude that older, single women are incapable of making decisions for themselves.
The truth of the matter is that the government help most people think exists is no longer funded. True help, especially for the elderly, is nonexistent. It's apparent you are quite capable of looking and asking for help, but when there is none, it merely compounds misery.
I want you to know that you are loved and supported by many who usually only lurk on here, myself included, and I would be more than happy to contribute to a Go Fund Me account for you. I am living on Social Security myself, so I know your struggles, and while I can't give much, if we all just gave a little it might give you a leg up to get going again.
In the meantime - ignore the haters, or maybe even pity them that hey have no empathy for others. You are strong, brave, and selfless, and that will help carry you through.

  5. Linda, your gofundme reads like you are blaming those other people for not helping you and not giving you an explanation? like that's the reason for some of your troubles....you got money from insurance you say (but you also said you didn't have insurance) oh dear. I hope you are getting some time to catch your breath.

  6. Susan from NC,
Thank you for the kind words and realization that things are not as they seem with govt help.

  7. WATCH YOUR credit report. Just saw on whio tv Dayton OH that some of the people that homes were destroyed by tornadoes Memorial day have had it as a mark against their credit because the insurance hasn't paid the house repairs or for them to be torn down. It's a freaking nightmare.... I just want you to know and keep checking in case it happens to you. They also haven't had the so called govt help come through either. SIGH. Wish I could wave a wand and fix it back like the good old days for you.... and I don't have two of my kids numbers either but they know how things are too for us
