Today was a productive day, low key, easy--my favorite kind of day. I got lots of phone calls made. We took a sandwich when we went out for hours.
I searched for a plate hanger and gave up. I searched for an over-the-door hanger. I need one to hang my clothes on, the kind with an arm to hang multiple items on since I don't dry any of my clothing in a dryer. Turning to Amazon, the order was soon secured. I love Amazon! the cost to me is about $7/month.
Tommy now must hang and remove items I hung on the door. With his upcoming operation, I need to be able to do more things for myself. Now, he says reaching up so far hurts him, too.
Today, Tommy took my produce card to market. I tell him to get whatever and tomatoes. He has bought honey and other items. Today, he bought four tomatoes--two Cherokee purple and two Brandwine pink. My dinner was one of the Cherokee Purple with salad with chicken in it.
Last week, I discovered David Duchovny had written a book of poetry--About Time. Duchovny is one of my two heartthrobs. Glen Ford is the other. When I heard Duchovny married Tea Leone, I really disliked her...lol.
The book was not available here, so I ordered it from Amazon. I highly recommend the short book. I read some of it to Tommy when we had a short wait in the car. He liked it. Duchovny graduated from Princeton with BA in literature and an MA from Yale in Lit. His introduction was filled with quotes I was quite familiar with since I followed his path.
This post has not been edited. I am too tired.
Anne, you mentioned Blue Pearl and Black Pearl. Which did you say was the better Chinese restaurant?
Tommy has mellowed lots. He would scream at me and afib started. I told him this and he has backed off, thankfully.
He has even started smiling or even laughing at things I say, just silly things.
From things he has said or his lack of denial, it seems we are completely redoing this house, paint, cabinets, old bathroom in addition the new one in a bedroom. He is very agreeable. Mold and asbestos (if any) will be removed. Well, we know there is mold in the attic.
Okay, off to read About Time.
The best Chinese in town (in my opinion) is The Red Pearl on West Valley
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteIt will be better for both of you!
ReplyDeleteKim,
DeleteIt already is better.
Glad to see you back to posting. Wondered what happened.
ReplyDeleteCheryl,
DeleteI am not sure what happened. But, other blog is strange now and IT person with degree could not figure it out. He work on university it stuff.
Linda, it is nice (and a RELIEF) to hear from you again! I was so afraid you were in jail for finally snapping and giving Tommy his just desserts. LOL!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWalmart has plate hangers. I'm sure *m*z*n does as well.
I have no thoughts, good or bad, about David Duchovny. I do not find him appealing.
I DO find it interesting he went to Princeton and Yale. Success in life is much easier when you've got rich parents to send you to elite universities. If that sounds like sour grapes, that's fine.
Personally, I think Jon Hamm and Henry Cavill are quite easy on the eyes...
Will Tommy have help from visiting nurses after his surgery? I sure hope so. You can't be expected to run everything--and I hope you don't try.
Did I mention it was good to see you're back? Because it is.
Sue,
DeleteTommy grinned at that.
I am quite sure they did, but I could not find them and no one showed me where they were hidden.
It helps to have help!
I don't know those guys.
He will need help for house and nursing. I will do all I need to do, but pain and falling are my issues.
Thanks. I am glad to be back, but I may start new blog. Point two!
Patience above ! I wasn't aware Mr. Tommy was a screamer. Good that's stopped.
