Tommy's Haircut

I found this about Chronic illness.

Okay, on to post. I finally got Tommy to let me cut his hair. It was so nasty and greasy and long that I may have ruined the clippers.  He can no longer get into the tub, so must wash hair in sink. Yes, he washes whole body in sink.

Finally, halfway through his haircut, I had him go wash his hair! It took over an hour to cut it because I would clip for three minutes and rest for ten. Then, he took off to the bathroom with my scissors, comb, and clippers. He used his trimmer and shaved off allll his sideburns. I was a little shocked.

I was sitting with him in AFC and told him that if his hair was curly, he would look like Einstein. Tommy said the guy facing him and behind me laughed. He washed his hair, lets it sit after washing and drying with a towel. After that, the rat nests are somewhat permanent.

He looks civilized now, not feral.

I don' really decorate for Thanksgiving. I do have pumpkins all over, not Jack 'o Lanterns. There is one turkey and autumn leaves. I don't remember if I had anything for the door.

Today, we seared a pot roast and put it in the crockpot. It was so tender and delicious. We did not salt or pepper the roast. Tomorrow, most of it will be frozen in portions for one or two meals for both of us.

Wednesday, tomorrow, starts the rewiring of the house. I hope all goes well. The cost is $10K less than the first. Plus, they have not lied to me.

I should be in bed. We have no fall leaves, just green ones. I wonder when it will happen every year. Have the leaves turned where you live, and where do you live.

  1. That is a lot of money. Sure hope they do a good job for you.
The leaves have finally started getting pretty in the last week. Still many green - but they are finally getting pretty.

    1. Cheryl,
I have used this company before. Hopefully, they will do a good job. This will include installing new light fixtures, and other things.
Maybe the cold will bring color this next week.

  2. Our Japanese maple is an explosion of crimson this year. I love those red leaves; such a treat for the heart.
I do not yet have my autumn decorations up. Although DH removed my summer wreaths from the front doors on Halloween, and replaced them with my autumn ones. I store my wreaths by hanging from the joists in my unfinished basement.

Your roast sounds delicious! Next time I make one I am turning it into Garlic Rosemary Beef Stew.

Can I ask why you and Tommy don't have a home health care aide coming in to help you with personal care and grooming? You should certainly both qualify, given your disabilities. At least one of your many doctors should be able to point you to a senior home care resources organization...

    1. Sue,
I am sort of leaning toward getting a Japanese Maple. I love them.
It is almost dinner time, and thinking about the roast makes me hungry. Yours will be delicious, too.
Tommy's surgeon said he will provide him with the info. i suppose the day of surgery. I asked mine and dr said okay. '

  3. Feral is what I look like after washing my hair and not trying to straighten it a little.

    1. After I wash my hair, I wrap it briefly wrap it in a towel to stop the drips. Then, I pick it out with fingers. It dries sort of fluffy/frizzy. At least it is not stick straight.
