Monday and Masks

I was going to cook all the bscb I bought on Sunday, but wanted a clean sink to do so. I told Tommy I was not cooking since I was not going to get raw chicken all over the kitchen. That dinner we bought was a disaster.

At 9:30 I told him we were going to finish emptying the dishwasher and filling it. He readily came in and helped. It took only 15 minutes. I had to sit and supposed he would be in the living room soon. He came through with the garbage to take out at about 9:57.  I asked him what he had been doing since I thought he was getting something to eat.

"I was cleaning bits of food out of the sink. Then, I thought, that I might as well just scrub it out. So, I did." Good for him! He also wipes off the stove after I cook!

Today, about six o'clock, he said he was going out to pick up a prescription and to get gas and dinner. The day was gloomy at first and sunny later. It seemed the hummers do not come out as much on a gloomy day. I thought the blazing sun in front of the house might keep them away, but that does not seem to be the case. Do you find they do not come to feeders in certain conditions?

A few months ago, I told Tommy, " I PROBABLY BE WEARING A MAS K at least through 2022." Click on the red letters to see an opinion on my statement.

  1. This pandemic is crazy. Yes, wear a mask and keep your distance as much as possible.

    1. Rhonda,
I certainly intend to keep my distance and wear a mask as I have since March 2020. You be careful, too.

    1. Anne,
I saw a young employee in uniform going into her store. She had her mask on but her nose was not covered at all. That was her concession to the store's mask mandate.

  4. I had a friend from church die from Covid today. It is a terrible disease and I am ready for it to be over.

Tommy did good with the garbage and sink.

  5. Well my husband and I went to about two different places without our mask and then I heard about breakthrough Delta infections occurring and we are back in our masks until H***
freezes over, I guess. I don't know what to do about the holidays. We have unvaccinated family members, and of course our little 7 month grand daughter is not vaccinated, and neither is our 11 year old grandson. Our grandson is great about wearing his mask, but I know our little grand daughter would either put her mask on her head or chew on it, or maybe both. What a time for kids to be growing up.They say that this Delta variant is much more contagious to children. I wish my son's school would have the kids stay home until this Delta variant (that is bad here in and around St. Louis Missouri) quits being so intense in this area.

    1. susie,
I guess you put that right! I understand about the baby eating the mask. People can teach children at home if they can afford to stay home with children. It is all so sad that people will not get the vaccine. Good luck with this problem.

  6. Delta covid is in the county next to us. We will be back to wearing masks. I noticed that a couple of the stores we were at yesterday was changing their signs to recommending you wear your mask even if vaccinated. Hummers around here come out in the sun or gloom but not rain

    1. Chef,
I have only seen warnings, not mandates about masks. I don't care because I intend to wear a mask no matter what anyone says. The hummers came out when it was sprinkling and during a bit of gloom, but not in large numbers, just one or two and not often. They do not come in the heavy rain. It seems the hotter and sunnier, the better they like it. Wear your mask!

    1. Janet,
Well, now they come all the time, no predicting when. I read about the torpor, and it is just amazing!
