Bargains

We went to Cullman today, leaving here at 9:30 AM and arriving here at just before 4 PM. We got a lot done. His knees hurt and my feet are swollen!

~~ delivered Pepsi cans and tuna-type cans to friend to give to mutual friend so she can turn them into money for her septic bill. Also gave her water bottles to recycle.

~~went to my lot where hundreds of daffodils are ready to bloom. These have been in the yard prior to 1977. The ones I planted in a sunnier place are in full bloom. Tulips I planted several years ago are up about three inches.

~~Publix had the Hunt's Petite Diced Tomatoes I had bought at BIG BOX for $0.98/can even cheaper-bogo, $1.74 for two, I think. I cannot find the receipt. So, that would be $0.87/can. I had already decided to buy more 10 more, so this saves me a bit.

~~I found butter once again for $1.50 lb. and bought all six packages on the shelf. They had more in the back, but I just got the six pounds. I don't bake a lot. Bought reduced package of Rice a Roni stir fried rice. Tommy will like it. I might, but thought it would be something different. I have plenty of vegetables for it and will add some meat for a whole meal.

~~paid my property taxes at the courthouse.

~~ate at BK

~~stopped at Verizon to find out how to get to voice mails. Once I knew to hold down "1" to get to voicemails, I set it all up myself.

~~went to PO

~~went to bank

Dinner on Thursday night--thinly sliced chops from a pork loin, zucchini leftover from last night, carrots baked with chicken last night, leftover turnip greens. I love leftovers!

No, I did not win the PCH! Have the scammers called you? It was 75F today...so nice. What is for dinner at your house? Is spring showing up yet?

  1. On February 22 I looked out the front door and there were two robins bobbin around in the front yard.Every day since, there has been snow and rain, and sleet, and then a medium sized hawk of some kind in my persimmon tree. I haven't seen Mr.and Mrs. Robin bobbin around in the yard ever since. I hope they come back to my yard again.

I got that publishers clearing house scam a month or so ago,and they said something about coming to my front door. I told them I'd call the police if I see anybody standing on my porch that I don't know.I am so sick and tired of all of the crooked phone scammers calling. I had the phone ring today and the message said please hold for my call...I didn't call them...That kind of stuff makes me want to cuss. I was in the middle of something.

    1. susie,
We have all sorts of birds all the time. I guess your permanent spring will come eventually. We have had hawks, right in the city, sitting on our fence.

They told me they would bring the money and a Mercedes to my door. Since that is what PCH does, that did not alarm me. But, they better have the truck, a huge check, and cameras...lol. I, too, am sick of people trying to scam people. My new phone tells me it might be a scammer. I love that.

My spam emails include news of "winnings" and a lot of offers to give me a bigger penis :)

    1. I laugh at the penis promises. I would not cook if it were just me, either. Some nights, I tell Tommy to find something to eat when I know there are leftovers. He does not mind, thankfully. He never suffers.

    1. Cheryl,
I see snow on the news and am so grateful I am not there. I bought one pound and kicked myself for not buying more. Now, I have more. Thanks.

    1. Kim,
It does not look so great since things were mutilated, things have grown up and other things hacked down. Plus, my friend "helped" me by spraying an herbicide on most of it. Thankfully, it did not get the daffodils since he did it in the fall. I do intend to take a picture of the daffodils since it reminds me of a "host of daffodils" that Wordsworth wrote about.

  6. I hope you’ll share a picture of the daffodils.
Nice deal on the butter! I would have asked for more but I guess I am just greedy that way.

No one has ever promised ME a bigger penis! I feel left out! :(

  7. Sounds like you had a great day! I love daffodils. I planted some last year and am waiting on it to pop up. It's still too early for it to bloom here.

I like the rice a roni rice too. I usually just add some leftover cooked chicken & frozen mixed veg to it and you have a meal. So easy and tasty.

    1. Ms Goose,
It is Saturday and we went to my house again today. I took pictures of some of my daffodils. The others are not further along than they were last week. I am waiting.

I have never made the rice a roni ever. I have a stir fry vegetable mix that I will add. I am glad to know that is a good thing to do. Mine is fresh, but I think it will work. I am hoping it is easy and tasty. I am going to cook chicken on Sunday, so maybe I will put some in before it is a leftover...lol.

I have marathon sneezing sprees, maybe 20 times in quick succession. Yes, I know when spring has arrived!
