I sat for 2.5 hours in the car in the parking lot waiting for a wheelchair to get me into office for blood tests at a hospital. THEN, the doctor had not called in the tests, AND he was not in his office today. Talk about mad and discouraged! Tommy was just hurting from sitting in the car too much this week.

It is raining a bit somewhere near here, so I am watching for it and will put my mum in the rain. Okay, it was just a bit of rain, and it is gone. Did not rain here.
I bought enough to cook 8 chicken breasts and taco casserole. Have squash, potatoes, and bags of frozen vegetables. So, this will keep us fed for a week and have enough to freeze. The taco casserole is more like taco soup when I get through with it. We both love it.
Right now, I have to go and wash the new crockpot I got yesterday. I have peas left over from yesterday and will throw potatoes in crock pot with the chicken.
I am exhausted! The heat is wonderful here.
How is your Thursday going? Weather? What are you cooking or have cooked for dinner?

It's now Friday here and my Thursday night dinner was a vegetable stew. It was delicious. I should do it more often.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of taco soup, too!
kylie,
DeleteVegetable stew sounds good, too. But, the weather here is not stew weather, not that I would let weather stop me!
I have a package of ground pork, cans of tomatoes, can of black beans, brown rice, can of corn. So, all I needed was cheese and taco seasoning. Of course, Tommy has no seasoning or many cooking utensils. I bought a crockpot a few days ago. That is how I cooked the chicken tonight.
I hate to confess it to the world in a comment on your blog, but we don't do much cooking. We eat a lot of frozen stuff just for the ease of it. Breakfast is either Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissant or a Smart Ones (Weight Watchers) ham, egg, and potato scramble. "Lunch" around 3 pm is our "big" meal of the day and usually consists of either a Lean Cuisine or a Smart Ones. Our evening repast is a light one, usually half a sandwich of either tuna salad or chicken salad or pbj along with a few tortilla chips. Mrs. RWP also likes to have 3 or 4 dill pickle chips or bread-and-butter pickle chips with her half sandwich. Every big once in a while I will buy chicken wings or pulled pork BBQ from Kroger for a change.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot. Once a week or so we will eat cereal for breakfast, me Cheerios and her Raisin Bran, with either blueberries or a cut-up banana. There. I said it and I'm glad. Please do not hate me. Each of us has lost about 20 pounds over the past year eating this way.
rhymes,
DeleteNow the world knows...lol. If I could be more mobile, I could lose weight with I what I eat. Congratulations on the weight loss. I never eat half a sandwich!
When I was height I am now, Mama said I ate more than my father who worked a physical job. I have always been able to eat anything and everything, but now I cannot and should not.
Eating the big meal early is smart. Maybe I will stop cooking and go the easy route...lol. Thanks for your enlightening comment.
Why would you ever wait so long, that is just crazy and uncalled for.
ReplyDeleteKIM,
Deletewe had invested 20 miles one-way. I needed to see if I had blood infection. I kept believing people who said to wait just a few minutes more. Yes, I guess I am crazy.
All docs is quacks.
ReplyDeleteUrspo,
Deleteyou make me laugh.
I waited 4 hrs one time and then there order was "lost". My doctor had a fit over it when I called him on Monday as it ordered for Saturday.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad went to convenience when he had to lose weight due to diabetes and cholesterol. Did it for a solid year before he started cooking again. Then it was a pot of bean soup, fried potatoes and corn bread on Sunday until it was gone then back to frozen meals. His breakfast was always raisin bran with a banana, mid day snack was an apple and lunch was 1/2 bologna sandwich with 3 fig newtons.
Chef,
DeleteThen, you know the pain!!!
I guess I will have to eat more convenience food. Then, my complexion will suffer and so will my liver. This is hard.
