Tommy went out to get my wet clothes from the washer when I was feeling so dizzy this last week. I was afraid that in the dark I would topple off the edge of the carport. The wet clothes are too heavy for me to carry, anyway.
He came in with a copper looking coin that was in the washer, obviously from my pocket. It is a 50 Euro cent from the Netherlands. I must have gotten it in change and put it in my pocket without examining it. "Beatrix Koningin der Nederlanden" I think there is a date, but I need a magnifying glass. I can read the date on our coins. I have never had a Euro. Centavos are what i usually receive in change.
I have so much to do today. But, I awoke about 10:30 and have been sitting or lying and watching tv. Since i have so much to do, i hate this. But, i have resisted the urge to get busy with things--throw out the nasty remains, mostly liquid, of the broccoli soup, put color on my hair, wash a few bowls so i can make make strawberry shortcake. Maybe I ought to cook some chicken, too.
The pink plastic bag with coupons in it arrived and Tommy went out in the rain to get it for me. It had three newspaper inserts. I cannot believe i bought a newspaper in order to get these. There was a $4 coupon I will use plus others for $1.
Yesterday, I was going to buy generic Mucinex. I accidentally bought the Mucinex brand for over $20. I wasted money. I could kick myself!
My allergist person tried to kick me over to a nurse practitioner. Not having that. She said the NP could go down the hall and ask him anything she or i needed to know. There would be followup questions. So, that will not work. I first called three months ago. Today, i called and asked nicely for him to see me. I have to wait until the end of April, but it is worth it.
I am wearing my fingers to the bone typing...lol. I want to go someplace tomorrow if the rain is less, but we will see.
While trying to pour the liquid from the crockpot of broccoli soup, I managed to dump it where it ran in the floor but atop my feet and sandals first. I don't energy for this. And, it is getting on my last nerve. This is being posted early because I cannot stand the problem in the floor.
Has a doctor ever seen you for years and then when business picks up he or she wants you to see a NP?
I have two doctors who use nurse practitioners, in fact one of the doctors retired and I had a choice of an unknown doctor who would have stopped one of the medications I am on that works wonderfully for me,just because that was his policy. I saw the NP who I like very much, and she convinced him to permit me to continue with my current medication for at least 6 more months. I hope she never leaves that office. I think the doctor doesn't want people on that medicine, because he has to do more paperwork for the government if patients are using it.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder how the NP's salary compares to the doctors, and if they are being paid less,I feel my bill should reflect that, by me (medicare and our private insurance) having to pay less. My other NP is with the gynecologist office. My gynecologist always is very kind, gentle and caring and so is the NP. He is so kind I am as comfortable with him as I am with the NP, she is excellent, too. All of my doctors are very good, because if they are not I don't give them a second chance to be unsatisfactory. Once I find a good doctor, or NP, I stick with them for as many years as they are in practice, unless they move far away. My allergist/asthma doctor has been the same since 1975. Can you believe I was 21 when I first went to him and I am 66 now. I hope he never retires. He is the smartest doctor I know of when it comes to all of the medications I take, and asthma treatment advancements. I have never been asked to leave a phone message when I have called his office. He is old fashioned that way, there is always someone to answer the telephone.
I am generally okay with an NP. I have nothing against this NP, just want him. He tells me things that I doubt I would hear from other docs. I used a gynecologist who retired and his son took over. I was going to the gyno before this son was born. But, I like him, too. If a doc is rude, I never go back. The next time I get one who is not nice, I may just get up and leave while he is talking.
DeleteI don't think np's are paid enough. There is a list online of salaries of np by state and profession. Let's say all are over $100,000.
I get Canadian pennies as change all the time.
ReplyDeleteAnne,
DeleteI get them in change in Cullman but never here.
I love my NP at my GI better than I love the doctor and I love him a lot LOL. Both listen and both care about my whole life not just my gut. They have a person answer the phone
ReplyDeleteMy primary doctor's head nurse is his wife both are great to work with. They have a person that answers the phone also.
Chef,
DeleteYes, not an answering machine that will call you back. But, when??? I get frustrated. I had a doctor whose wife answered the phone at her house. She was his only employee. He had offices in other doctor's offices. His nurse tended to his patients and his wife tended the phone. It seemed like a great setup for them. It was for me.
I pay with cash so seldom I don't get much in foreign currency, but if I do, it is likely Canadian. Lately I've used a Physicians Assistant as a starting place since I've changed insurance which required a change in clinics. he was great and got me to the specialists needed. During my pregnancies' and when I was going through so much unknown, having a consistent doctor was preferred, but now that I see them more sporadically, as long as my tests continue to be fine, I'm happy to be seen by anyone!
ReplyDeleteSam,
DeleteI got an appointment with a Dr. xxxx. When i got there, a woman came in and i figured out she was a nurse although a Doctor. She had a PhD in Nursing. She was sooo nice, so she is my default when i am not getting what i need from my doctors.
My gynecologist office had a sign. It seems pregnant women will not be able to choose whom they see during their pregnancy checkups. I would have hated that.
I am with you. If the tests are done, anyone can order them.
