Every time we see her getting onto a stagecoach, we know there is mayhem ahead. She has never gotten onto a stagecoach without getting hurt, shot, knifed, raped, kidnapped, in the desert alone, beaten, slapped, held hostage. Oh, by the way, this happens every time she is on a train, too. Once, she ended up driving the stagecoach, hat and hair flying.
I am tired and cooking. So, this is it. Have you noticed how each show with Kitty goes? Of course, I am talking about Gunsmoke.
I never paid attention to the story line, but I always thought Miss Kitty was the height of glamor. She was a smart businesswoman as well. I thought Matt Dillon was an idiot not to snatch her up and marry her!
ReplyDeleteSue,
DeleteIf he had, I would have probably stopped watching just because it would be all about sex like soap operas.
I'm no prude, but yes, there is way too much sex on tv, and it's just so tasteless and porny. Dang, if I wanted to watch that stuff, I know exactly where to get it. I do not need it oozing out of my tv on every darn channel!
ReplyDeleteSue,
DeleteThat is why I have never watched soap operas, too much sex, cheating, just don't need it. I am no prude, either, but it seems the drama is overshadowed by too much emphasis on sex.
I haven't watched since I was a kid, poor miss kitty!
ReplyDeleteExcept for the last two years, I don't ever recall watching Gunsmoke! I suppose her trials made for high ratings!
DeleteI remember watching it with my Mom and Dad when I was a young girl.I always liked Matt Dillon, and I loved old Doc, I wish doctors now days were like that Doc. My first doctor when I was really little looked and sounded just like Doc on Matt Dillon. I always wanted Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty to get married. I got a kick out of Chester and then Festus during their times on there.
ReplyDeleteThere are so few shows on TV that I like now. Young Sheldon and Stephen Colbert are it. I don't like any contest shows (except for Jeopardy). I often watch the 1960's westerns on the oldie channels, and old movies on TCM. I never could tolerate the slow pace of soap operas.
When I was in college, the girls like to watch soap operas. Years later, I was watching tv and rocking a baby. I did not want to get up and disturb the baby who was on her way to sleep. A soap opera came on that they watched and the storyline had barely advanced in four years!
DeleteToo much drama, sex, cheating on spouses for me. We watch a lot of westerns...lol. I cannot think of a new show we like except Young Sheldon.
