Wednesday, I got little decluttering done! It is happening but slowly.
In 2018, trains of poop from New York and New Jersey were brought to Alabama for disposal here. I heard that Alabama had been sent more poop than any other state. I think all states should handle their own poop. It is only 30 miles from here. But, this is a very poor area of the state, not the poorest, but they don't deserve poop so someone else can make money. We don't need POOP TRAINS sent to Alabama.
I thawed two 1-lb. packages of hamburger meat and will make meatloaf for dinner tonight and will have some to freeze. We had something substantial late, so we can eat a bit later tonight, I suppose.
Four coupons for $1 off 2 Cheerios and other cereals expires on Jan. 11, so today Tommy bought 8 boxes of Cheerios that were bogo at Publix. The bookcase beside his chair looks like the cereal aisle in the grocery. I am working on getting the stash into the kitchen. Progress is so slow around here.
It's late now, so I need to mix meatloaf.
Do you want poop trains coming to your state?
Dumb question, but where did all of this poop come from? When we flush, doesn't it get sent the sewage treatment plant where it is chemically broken down and processed until it can go back into the water system? Is it human poo or farm animal poo? I'm going to go google this odorous shituation. I've never heard of such a thing, and no, they should not be running trainloads of poo to any area anywhere, let alone near a populated area. That truly is a load of, well you know.
ReplyDeletesusie,
ReplyDeleteNY and New Jersey. Human poop! Click on the red link in paragraph #2 for more information.
I will say that years ago, my next door neighbor, who was king of all things organic brought in a load of so called natural fertilizer. It was cow poop. He spread this all over the yard. For years our neighborhood smelled like a barnyard. He also brought in worms of some kind and spread sugar all over. I will say he had a beautiful lawn even if it did stink to high heaven.
ReplyDeleteTexas,
ReplyDeleteThat is a terrible neighborhood smell. Were there flies. I have heard of worms for the lawn, but never sugar. Funny story.
Poop trains? what a strange idea. Imagine a derailment
ReplyDeletekylie,
DeleteHow awful. I never thought of a derailment!
There is something so off putting when a post contains both mentions of the poop train and meatloaf. I may never look at meatloaf the same again!
ReplyDeleteReally? How do you feel about BabyRuth?
DeleteLOLZ
DeleteI've never heard of a poop train. That's terrible! I have heard of countries sending their garbage to poorer countries. That too is disgusting. Instead people need to learn how to reduce waste though I don't think we can reduce poop waste. I'll have to read your link.
ReplyDeleteJoyful,
DeleteNo, we cannot reduce poop waste at the source, but people should learn to deal with their own poop and not send it to someone else to deal with.
I have never heard of such a thing. I guess we are never too old to learn. People make money in all kinds of ways.
ReplyDeleteCheryl,
DeleteYet, this state bans lotteries on moral grounds. The same people who have to deal with the problem of stench in their neighborhoods are the same religious poor who vote down lotteries.
All I can say is...I am thankful for my septic system. No chemical enhanced oxidation process for me. Just flush a slurry of active yeast and water a couple times a year.
ReplyDeleteAmy,
DeleteBaking yeast? It sounds simple and effective without chemicals. My old house once had an outhouse, so pretty simple disposal there, too. Thanks for the information.
Several years ago some farmers in our area bought pig manure from somewhere and spread it on some of their fields, not near their homes. Of course it was near some peoples' homes and they resented it mightily. Pig manure is especially smelly and it can be smelled from miles away.
ReplyDeleteI have smelled pig poop. My parents moved to house not knowing on the other side of the woods were a pig farmer. Thankfully, he only had a few pigs and we were only renting!
DeleteDecluttering, poop, and meatloaf.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot on your plate for one day!
I hereby pre-emptively decline your dinner invitation.
Poop should stay in the state in which it originates. No dumping it in the ocean, either. Ain't nobody want your poo, Boo.
I also have hamburger to fry up. I am going to make the meat portion of my famous* Buffalo Mac 'n' Cheese and freeze it for future batches.
*famous to my family and their friends, anyway...
Sue,
DeleteLOL, no poop on my plate. Agreed on poop. I will save the hamburger for tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteThe title of this post made me a little nervous & I wasn't sure what I was about to read about LOL!! I had no idea this was a real thing! Grosssss. I'd be against it coming to my state too. I feel like there are probably 100 jokes you could make about this but seems to me like everyone should just deal with their own poop! What a bizarre sh!tuation to have. Sorry I couldn't help myself hehehe ;)
Bri,
DeleteI heard it about four years ago, but was surprised the train was back. Nasty! Everyone should wipe their own butts!
My understanding is that PA sent a poop train to AL because we Pennsylvanians give a shit. *snort*
ReplyDeleteslugmama,
DeleteWell, bless your hearts.
