Community Wood Banks

 The idea of a WOOD BANK is a wonderful idea. This article talks about the formation of wood banks in Maine and other states near there. 

Do you know people who need wood to keep their homes warm? I don't, but that may say more about me than the people around me who do need wood.

    Marvelous idea. In my home prior to where I live now we heated exclusively with wood. We lived in the mountains and it was darn frigid if you didn't stay on top of it. A wood stove heats well but will not reach to distant rooms.

      I suppose even when you finally get the place warm, you have to keep getting in wood for later. I can imagine the disparity in the heat in rooms far away. That is how it was in my house with a space heater.
