Nothing Much Accomplished

 Monday--nothing much was accomplished.

I did get out my fat, battery-powered candles, three in graduated heights. AND, there is a remote. With the remote, the candles can all be timed from two to 8 hours. A "flame" dances like a live flame I love the look, love the convenience. They are on the shelf beneath the tall table on which the tree sits. I bought a package of red berries on alligator/roach clips. I just put the four bunches of berries in front and between the candles.

There is another set of these candles I have not gotten out, yet.

About the remote--how do you keep it from being lost, sliding off the table, just how? Well, I put each of mine in a sandwich bag or snack bag. Since the remotes are so tiny, I just know they will evade me if they are not inside something I can see when the remote slithers away.

Outside, the mum is just sitting there, not red enough, not shiny. I hate to give up!

Tuesday, we went to Tommy's yearly appointment at one specialist. I sat in the car and addressed Christmas cards. Since I forgot to take my Christmas stamps, I just used the summer flower stamps.

Today, we covered many areas/cities in Birmingham , shopping or driving to get somewhere else! I finally got a hamper, something I badly needed. Hopefully, the vibrator foot massager I purchased will help with the swelling in my feet. I also bought red pen, contact paper, Hershey's Kisses, Hershey's Miniatures, a cookie sheet, and a small box of Werther's Original Caramel Sugar Free minis. I love the Werther's.

I am exhausted and have no idea what will be for dinner! Maybe a nap will help!

I forgot to look for a surge protector for my laptop. It is almost 4 pm and it is still 70F degrees.

Has anyone ever used a foot massager? Know anything about them?

  3. I use a heated foot massager for when my feet are aching. I haven't really noticed if helps with swelling since I don't seem to have that issue anymore. My feet used to swell a lot.

How did you get your feet to quit swelling? Mine ache when they are swollen.

    2. I've tried many different things so I'm not sure what worked or whether everything together worked. Examples of things I've done: exercise (walking, stationary bike, stretching), whole body vibration, eat healthier (more veggies and greens), take different supplements, acupressure on my feet esp. when they get bad, raised feet every time I sit which is most of the time, good supportive shoes and use the heat and massage. Oh I almost forgot, I lost a lot of weight. It took me years as I didn't diet and can't go all out with the exercise. I just do what I can when I can and try not to go too long without moving. I think the weight loss and exercise helped a lot. I hope that helps.

  4. Joyful,
I have tried most of those things in a very limited manner. Walking is out. I lost 7 pounds. There is nothing on the list I have not implemented. Thanks.

    3. I just thought if something else to try. Compression stockings. You might need the kind with velcro fastenings.

    4. Joyful,
When I went to buy them, I was told the doctor must measure me. So, that is on the list of things I am trying. Thanks.

    5. I'm lucky where I buy them at medicial supply they have people to measure you and make sure they fit. If your insurance is paying g tge just need doctor to give a prescription for tge right compression. Good luck.

  5. My feet quit swelling when my cardiologist prescribed a diuretic. It works like magic, but it is another pill to take.

    1. Carole,
How long did it take? I take a diuretic and the results are minimal. My feet are still swollen, plus legs and upper body, too.

  6. You and I need to start a club. The get nothing done club. We can embroider it on pillows.

    1. Kim,
That club might grow quickly! We can be charter members. It works for me. I am slow at embroidery and not very skilled.

  7. Oh yes, those sugar-free Werther's are da bomb!
I have a tray for all the remotes. Not that the clowns in the house put them back after using them, but at least it looks nice.
May I please join the Get Nothing Done club? I promise I will be a very inactive member!

    1. Sue,
Tommy keeps the two tv remotes and I keep the remotes for lights. We need a bowl or tray. You will fit right in. Funny comment. I wish I had thought of that!
