Turkey, Finally!

I got all the breast meat from the turkey. YAY! Tonight, Tommy will get the rest of the meat off. I will make green bean casserole to add to sweet potatoes in the skin, dressing, purple hull peas. and roast carrots and onions.

Right now, we are waiting for sunset and possible tornadoes. However, at this time there is no bad weather here, just north and south of us. From the weather crawl it seems it will all be well north of us. It has been 78 today for a high, so we pay for beautiful weather with a chance of tornadoes.

I think I have a uti, so I have done nothing, NOTHING today.  So far, I just feel blah.

It's 4 pm and I give up.

I suppose you all are finishing up leftovers when we are just starting!

  1. Yum! Your turkey dinner sounds absolutely delicious!!
You are correct about us finishing our leftovers. I just polished off the last of our smoked prime rib, the hubby made me a sandwich out of it for my lunch - it was divine!
Hope the tornadoes stay away from you guys! That's one nice thing about Utah, there's no tornadoes because we're surrounded by huge mountains here! But we also don't have 78 degree weather at the end of December - you're a lucky girl! It's currently 32 out and is supposed to drop soon BRRRR!!
UTIs are the worst :( I used to get those frequently but now I take cranberry pills regularly and they really seem to help. Have you seen or tried those before? Hope you feel better soon doll!

    1. Bri,
I look forward to a turkey sandwich!

I suppose the trade-off is worth the chance. I am not fond of temps that low. Those temps will be here for maybe two weeks in February.

I had UTIs for several years until I took Vit D. I think I know what the problem is this time! I may have to start taking cranberry pills! I have heard of this but not tried it. Thanks.

    2. Mmmm I love leftover turkey sandwiches!

Here is a link to the cranberry pills that I like in case you want to try them. They aren't too expensive & have really worked wonders for me!

  2. Congratulations in getting your turkey dinner. Persistence with patience. Now I envision a thick rich turkey noodle soup. I hope you get relief from your possible UTI.

    1. SAM,
Yes, I deserve a medal for getting it thawed and baked! No turkey noodle soup as that would ruin my turkey sandwich jag I will have. I will call the doctor tomorrow. Thanks.

I think there is a low chance of tornados right where we are. Thanks.
