Busy Saturday + Edit of More Things

This morning, we went to Cullman for a few reasons, and in the process,

I received a free chicken, dressed of course.

Met with an artist friend. He has the paint by number and will stretch it. I have no idea how, but he mentioned a hammer, a saw, and staples. Tommy will be able to paint the Christmas picture with cardinals in the snow.

We stopped and got the mail. I got Tommy a sheet of forever stamps. They did not have any I like, so I will get mine next month. I got "Pony Cars" for him. Next month I will get mine--flower stamps and Christmas stamps.

We hurried back down to meet with the Tupperware lady from Mississippi. She is set up in a parking lot in front of a store. I had gotten something totally wrong when we first saw her. She took it back and let me get cannisters. Then, she cut the price on a pie container. I had one but it is gone. So, I can bake a pie or cupcakes and keep them all fresh and pest free.

Then, I saw an estate sale with everything 1/2 price today. I managed to get in the house and sat down every chance I had in the house. There were lots of pretty things, but I decided I did not really want them. Outside, there was a patio table for $35 that they offered me for $15. It folds flat, so it went into the car. It is set up and I love it!

On the way home, I saw a tent in a parking lot and got a Lifeline tablet for $20/ I hope these are not hot and are legit.

Last night, I went to bed at midnight and awoke at 4 am. I am beat so I am going to bed right now at 4:30 in the afternoon.

I don't know how to set up the tablet, but I may not know how to get to the bed. I am that tired. But, it is a pretty day.

Tommy suggested I call Geek Squad. If I do that, I have lots of things for them to help me do and learn. Have you ever used GS?

Let's see--hen, stretching canvas, Tupperware cannisters and pie taker, table for yard and tablet, plus 32 lbs of sweet potatoes, 5 red tomatoes, 1 green tomato.

We did everything we set out to do and more. Things went off smoothly.

Did things go smoothly this Saturday? What did you do?

I may sleep all evening, so this post goes out now.

Edit: add another 32 lbs. of sweet potatoes, 5 tomatoes, and 1 green tomato to the day's haul. I forgot.

  1. So how was your free chicken dressed? French couture? LOL!!!

Oooh, sounds like a good shopping day! Sometimes it's just fun to look and see new/different things. Other times purchasing feels like a must. Sounds like you had a nice combination of the two.

My Saturday went well. I had a nice walk (it was sunny and warm) and got a few things done. Got an early start on dinner and we'll have chicken on salads with a side of mashed cauliflower.

Pleasant days are just wonderful, aren't they?.

  2. Hope you get a good nights sleep - rest up. Sounds like a wonderful day. I have a relative that usually helps me out if I have a 'geek'/computer problem.\
It was a beautiful but breezy day here.

Yes, Tommy likes fried green tomatoes. I cannot stand them. It was a fun day, productive and smooth.

  4. You never shared your trauma, but seems to have passed based on your last posts. Productive is good.

It is not resolved yet. So, even though the trauma has lessened, the whole ordeal is not over.

  5. I went to an estate sale before I left California, and found these wonderful plates. They're small enough for me to eat off. I can't wait to have my own place. Portion control has been a challenge for me.

    1. Rhitter,
I often eat from a salad plate and it still looks empty! But, maybe it is not portion control I need...lol. I need to consider how many times I fill it, like an hour later!

    2. I had trained my body to only eat what was on the plate, but then again, I ate nutrient dense food.

    3. Going back does not help me. But, that is the way I am supposed to eat! I never did this when I was younger.

  6. I'm not sure I can say it went smoothly, but it was interesting. We are having a new kitchen installed and hubby decided we needed to update the electrical system. At 8:30AM the electrician came in and said he was turning the power off in 15 minutes! Since we have NO kitchen and have not had one for 10 days, we were more than ready to go. Went out for breakfast, took a long drive, stopped to check on my boat and finally had dinner with my youngest son and family. I couldn't keep my eyes open after 8:AM!

    1. Jan,
No kitchen for ten days is rough. You could not keep your eyes open after 9 pm? I can understand why. But, it will all be worth it when you have a new kitchen. Wish I did.

  7. What is Geek Squad? I have gotten a couple emails telling me they will refund me something and it is signed Geek Squad. They were written in poor English and what seemed like scammers.

    1. Ann,
Geek Squad is a business, but you might be contacted by spammers. I suspect so. They have a van and office. They will come to your house and solve tech problems.
