On Thursday night, I slept a bit and sat up reading on laptop in living room. I went back to bed at 7 am and got up at 12:30 pm. Tommy was standing in front of his chair, lights off, very still, both hands on one arm of the chair. I asked him what he was doing. "Trying to stand up." He feels awful, has covid.
He tested. Afterwards, he decided to go to urgent care. Doctor prescribed paxlovid but phamacist would not give him Paxlovid until talking to his doctor on Monday. The pharmacist had questions and will not fill the prescription until Monday when pharm talks to Tommy's regular doctor.
I can tell he feels awful. I feel a bit better, just a bit. I wish we felt better to face the stress of the weath warnings tonight. He is probably going to feel worse having to wait until Monday for med.
My temp is normal. OA is 98. Cardiologist said so far, heart is okay. Later will tell if there is a problem. I have quit coughing except for rare fits of coughing. No more wheezing. Same with sneezing. Nose quit hurting. Now, I have pain and extreme tiredness all over, worse than normal for me.
There is baked chicken from freezer, taco soup, chicken thighs, and a pork loin that needs to be cooked. I will somehow put two helping of the taco soup into the freezer.
Ate a pack of crackers and a bit of taco soup. And, a spoon of frosting.
Psycho frightened me again!
That must be the worst, scary feeling!! Now it is both of you. I have still been lucky but I do not go out but about once a week. I still wear a mask, and yes people do look at me funny. I am careful and thoughtful, don't get to close to others. I live alone and I do not want to do sick alone. My son is nearby but I don't want him miss work to take care of me.
ReplyDeleteI have Walmart plus and Amazon Prime so I can get most anything delivered to the house. The doctor is about a mile away and also does telehealth if needed.
I try to keep things well stocked in the pantry and freezers so if I do get sick I am prepared. I am like you that I freeze things I have cooked for emergencies. I keep canned soups, plenty of toilet paper, have a dedicated pantry of pain/fever reducers, cough syrups etc.
I know you have Amazon, do they have the grocery plan available where you live? I have never used it, I think it is through whole foods. I have used the Walmart plus plan a lot. I have had pretty good results but I prefer to buy produce and meats in person. It does come in handy when I don't feel well or the weather is bad. This would include summer for me, the heat alone can make me sick.
I would think Tommy's doctor will call in the plaxovid for him on Monday, do you think it would be safe to give him some of yours until his can be filled? Do you have enough to get you both through until Monday.?
Texas,
DeleteWe don't go in stores many times when we go out, so not out in stores that often. I can get delivery to car from Publix or get home delivery. Milk and bananas and bread were all we would actually need as there is plenty of other food here. Heat can make me ill, too.
The prescription is at the pharmacy but there is a contraindication with one of his meds. So, taking mine might not be safe. Yes, I do have enough but it is better he waits even though I would share mine until his was filled.
Just know I am thinking of both of you and that you feel better soon. I can't say I know how you feel because I don't. I have been sick and alone, struggling and afraid so I get that. Rest, drink plenty of fluids and eat the best you can.
ReplyDeleteTexas,
DeleteWe are not alone, so sorry for your experience. Fluids is all Tommy wants.
I've been off-grid for a week so I'm rather behind on everyone's news.
ReplyDeleteCovid is awful and I particularly disliked the way it stole my appetite but that's a minor issue given how dangerous it can be.
I hope you and Tommy soon feel a lot better. It's annoying that he can't get the meds yet, they cant help if he can't take them!
kylie,
DeleteHe is just getting worse.
so sorry that your sick. I wish that he could call the doctor after hours somehow for Tommy. Now they usually say just go to the ER but you used to could have the doctor call you after hours. I hope both of you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteHis doctor has no after hours service! Thanks.
DeleteWishing you both well!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteThat is awful the pharmacist won't fill it - can you go to a different pharmacy?
ReplyDeleteOne,
DeleteThe pharmacist is protecting Tommy, maybe himself as he does not believe Tommy should take the med with his condition and meds he is taking for something else.
