THE COLOR OF YOUR EYES many determine more that you think. I was surprised. When I was young, my eyes were jet black, just like my mother's Aunt Jettie, I am told.
At about 40, they turned to a dark brown. I guess I am fading away.

When I was young and sitting for a photographer, he left the camera and came and put his face very close to mine. As he walked away, I asked him what he was doing. He said he could not focus because there was no evident demarcation between my pupil and iris, the place where he focused.
I don't know that eye colour means anything but my ex had dark brown eyes and yet when he was in his manic or evil phase (bipolar and just an all round nasty drunk) they would turn jet black. The devil's eyes I heard someone call it. And so many others have mentioned the same thing. I read one explanation that they were so hyper that their pupils dilated so much you couldn't see the whites of their eyes. I have no idea if that's true but it did correspond with the self-satisfied smirk too!

DeleteThat is really spooky. Mine were black and flashed when I was smiling or happy. Well, so says my mother. I have seen some brown eyes turn evil looking, but won't say where. Just guess.
How neat, I’ll have to check this out. My eyes are blue and when I was young my hair was blonde, but turned very dark in my 20s after we moved to Tennessee.

I wish that my hair would turn white or gray. My Daddy grayed early and turned a beautiful silver. Apparently I have my Mother's hair.

Back in 1968 when I went to get my first driver's license a clerk said something to me that would be considered extremely inappropriate today ..... actually it was quite inappropriate even back then.
ReplyDeleteI had filled out the form indicating that I had brown eyes. I was told by the clerk that NO, Mexicans have brown eyes, your eyes are green. So legally I have always had green eyes.
She may have been right, as the years have passed my eyes have become greener and greener. The same thing has happened to my son & my sister. My daughter's eyes have faded from blue to gray.

DeleteNot only inappropriate but ignorant. I have no "Mexican" in me at all and my eyes are definitely brown now.
